It's a great air fryer
by Someone who cares (4 out of 5 stars)

It's a great air fryer, but I didn't realize that the cooking space was a bit to small, I could only fit 4 drumsticks in it so that there would be space for the air to flow. For a bigger family, I would suggest the VonShef air fryer. I should have done more research, but because it was a gold box deal, I jumped at the chance to get it. It will be fine for a couple. I made fries, pork chops, and the drumsticks, and it came out excellent with little to no oil added, except for the fries. Hope this helps.

Bought this air fryer in March this year and I really enjoyed it. But a few days ago I found the white basket cracked and the white plastic on the outside may fall apart soon. I only got it for 5 months and not sure what to do with this air fryer.

This air fryer works great! Have had it for several months and meals and it has yet to disappoint. Easy to clean non stick, really doesn't take much. The basket is smaller. Essentially enough for one bag of fries or favorite frozen item. If doing wings, it takes a few batches to get enough for the family. I typically use warm on my oven to then keep the wings hot as I rotate thru 22minute batches of the best chicken wings you will ever eat.

Literally fried and crunchy chicken!!!
by Bashert (5 out of 5 stars)

I purchased a refurbished one just in case it turned out to be a dud, but what a surprise! Look at these pictures! While I was pulling the chicken out of this unit, I was on the phone with my aunt (Southern Folks!) and she could hear the "frying" sound! Then I bit into this wonderfully crunchy chicken! Tasty! I actually used the rack and put 2 legs & a thigh on bottom and on top rack, so fried 6 pieces of chicken at one time. I did increase the time to 30 minutes, because I like dryer chicken, but this turned out crispy outside and juicy inside like most people like their fried chicken. Next time I will cook less pieces and maybe slightly longer, but not necessary. When I made my chicken I first put about a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil in a ziplock bag to slightly cover the chicken, then I transferred the chicken into another ziplock with a little cornstarch, some flour, and some Bob's Red Mill corn meal pancake and waffle mix. The chicken went directly from there into the unit and 30 minutes later voila! (See pictures).

I have also tried the obligatory frozen foods, fries, large shrimp, battered and breaded fish, and a burrito. I cannot wait to try pork chops, tempera vegetables, and fresh fish, oysters etc. My thoughts are towards dipping things in warmed up coconut oil to use the healthiest oil to fry in, while using very little. Just imagine apple turnovers etc. I am engaged for so many more healthy fried foods like fried okra, zucchini, onions, cauliflower/broccoli etc. Right now I have chicken marinating in some Tikka Masala sauce and will coat the chicken with a little yogurt before frying just to see how it turns out.

having my cooking mess pretty well self contained to this
by Beau Steward (5 out of 5 stars)

This thing has changed the way I cook completely, and I do a lot more cooking for myself overall now. Since I normally cook only for myself, having my cooking mess pretty well self contained to this, it's much easier to clean and manage than if I use the oven/stove top for a solo meal. I actually feel a little weird calling it a "fryer" because it can cook so many things. I mean, it's really a convection oven, if you think about it. However, because of how it's designed, it's so easy to maintain it and keep it cleaned.

Humorous note: make sure the exhaust vent is not pointed at a smoke detector. Even if it's not venting much, if any, smoke, it'll set it off.

Just one airfryer and a microwave, you're good to go.
by TiniK (5 out of 5 stars)

Bought this 2 years ago from Amazon, and it still works great! I have also tossed out the counter toaster, this one tool does most of the crisps-ing job done: toasts, grilled cheese (melt the cheese a bit in your microwave first), french fries, sweet potato fries (get those frozen bags from the store), grilled chicken, grilled fish, korean Kalbi BBQ, you name it! The product continues to perform the same after 2 years. The bottom bucket lining does have wear-and-tear chipping off but since it doesn't really touch the food, I don't worry about it much. I do wish they have replacement bucket only available though.

Best appliance you'll ever buy!
by Melisa DeStefano (5 out of 5 stars)

I have never been happier with the purchase of a small kitchen appliance. Not only does it make great fries with practically no oil, saving hundreds of calories, but makes great crispy "fried chicken." It is also the best way to reheat a slice of pizza, leaving the crust crispy and the top bubbly. Gone are the days of the gummy crust produced by microwave re-heating. I recently used it to re-heat General Tsao chicken and was delighted with the crunchy texture and caramelized glaze. It has earned a permanent place on my counter.

Best for a single person
by Tim (3 out of 5 stars)
December 2, 2018

The unit is helpful if you are cooking for one, but expect to spend a little time scrubbing the mesh grill portion that you are placing the food on every time you use i to cook any kind of meat. It is too small to cook for more than 2 small-moderate eaters, and you can only cook one thing at a time in it, so you still have to use your oven for a side dish if you use it for cooking the main entree. However, it makes great pork (never dry) and french fries without all the oil, and does so fairly quickly. probably less expensive to run than your oven if you are not making a big meal. You will need to buy the book as well unless you don't mind experimenting a lot. It is not as self-explanatory as I thought it would be.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this little oven. Perfect for single or couple. I put frozen rolled tacos on bottom and two handfuls of fries on top rack...15-mins later, dinner is ready! I use this for meals, snacks, etc. Don't know how I ever lived without this.

Awesome product!

Can't say enough great things about this product. Two family members have made the same purchase after seeing how great this appliance does. We moved away from anything oil fried and the AirFryer provides us with crispy fries, shrimp, black bean patties, grilled cheese, onion rings, chicken patties, and so much more as if they were oil fried. Amazing product that never leaves our counter top. Best small appliance I've ever purchased.

Good product but hard to clean

I like this product a lot. I tried fries, friend chicken, fried fish. Don't need to use much oil to cook. The only disadvantage is hard to clean.

Great Product
by Brian. Vogel (5 out of 5 stars)

We really like this product. While it has many diverse uses, primarily we use it to fry things like french fries, tater tots and other food that would normally be friend in oil. My kids joked that we had tater tots every day for a month when we first bought it.

The one thing that I was a little disappointed in is that the homemade fries didn't turn out very well. I followed the directions a number of times, but they never turned out great. They were "okay", but vastly inferior to frozen fries (prepared in the Philips).

Wonderful!

We LOVE this air fryer! My friend and her husband have the GoWise one and had food from theirs one weekend. We were hooked and wanted an air fryer for ourselves. We read the Philips rated better and I found this at a great price so we ordered it. It is easy to use and comes with a great recipe book. Clean up is a breeze and the baskets go in the dishwasher! Tip: If you're making cheese sticks, put parchment paper in the bottom of the basket. Melted cheese is a pain to get out of the wire mesh in the bottom if they cook a little long.
