Holds earphones securely but does not protect them.

I had the mistaken idea that these were more like boxes that open and close. They should show a picture of the back so you can see what they really are. There are spaces in the back where you place your earphones and then you wrap the cord around the middle. It holds them securely but they aren't protected.
