Love Love Love this printer

Love Love Love this printer. I am addicted to all things Polaroid. And despite the fact that this isnt "polaroid" by brand name, the pictures it prints are the same polaroid we all remember....just in a mini version. The film isnt always easy to find so I suggest you purchase them in bulk from Amazon. It will cost you between 6.00 and 11.00 per pack this way. If you buy it in the store, be prepared to pay anywhere feom 11.00-26.00 a pack. Each pack only has 10 photos so if you are looking for an inexpensive way to print a lot of photos, this is not it. But if you love the old polaroid experience, being able to print your photos from any smart device wirelessly is priceless...in my opinion:) Product was easy to set up and so far has held up without any issues. Overall I recommend this product!

The printer itself is easy to use and wonderful

The printer itself is easy to use and wonderful. It was a really smart decision to buy the printer over the Instax Fujifilm 8 camera because with the printer you use an app. In the app, you can use a picture from your gallery or newly taken pictures, it does not matter. You can also adjust the pictures as you want like adding filters, zooming, or brightness. Then you can also reprint the same picture to share with friends and family easily. The only thing is that you have to buy film separately and it operates using batteries.

Heavier than a banana

I purchased both mini 70 and the printer at the same time.

If you are deciding between an instax camera or a printer...

Buy this if you don't want to waste film at all and dont want to hassle with an instax camera. Although not as instant as a camera, being able to pick and choose your favorite instax memories is nice. And you can hand copies out as gifts which is a plus.
--Why you should still consider an instax camera?--

There is a novelty in having an instant camera on hand** and so I recommend getting an instax mini 8,70, or neo 90 for users who like the adventure of not knowing how a picture will turn out. If you have never experienced using a Polaroid then I would give it a shot. Printing with the instax printer is neat, but nowhere as fun as printing directly from camera.

Cons:

CR2 batteries, I'd invest in a USB cable or rechargeable batteries to get around this. Supposedly the printer should last for about 10 packs or 100 prints.

Why 5 stars? Because the amount of film you save by using this item is worth it. If you like it, you may eventually purchase a camera for a different experience.

Attached are pictures for scale and size. Both camera and printer weigh as much as a half-fill bottled of water. Heavier than a banana. 10 oz

I'm impressed...barring some minor connectivity issues.

I purchased this for my wife as a gift since she is a huge fan of the Instax series by Fuji and I myself have always loved Fuji's color representation in film.

The printer is small, light and pretty portable making it something I would consider bringing to a party or event where it would be fun to share the pictures with others. Setup is straight forward; you insert the film which can only be done one way, insert the batteries and turn it on. On your smartphone you install the app and it walks you through the process of connecting to the printer.

On my first try I was able to complete the process in about 6 minutes from batteries, film to printing with my Note 3, my note 8 tablet and my Nexus 7 tablet. Unfortunately on my wife's phone we had some issues that took a while to figure out and she has the same phone (Note 3). After some investigation she discovered that her settings for WiFi connectivity were not the same as mine so we made some changes and the printer worked well afterwards.

Overall the printer is gimicky but you don't buy such a device for prints to hang on the wall. The Instax series by Fuji brings the fun of Polaroid to the film and color quality you find with Fuji and the Instax Share printer allows you to basically turn any picture on your smartphone or tablet into an instant print which is fun.

And just a suggestion to anyone interested in it,...purchase extra batteries. Plus, no film is included with the printer so that is a necessity if you want it up and running upon receiving it.

Amazing to anyone who does some research
by JonShar (5 out of 5 stars)

Bottom line (at the top, but I'm a rule-breaker): it's amazing.

SETUP: Contrary to another review, setup was extremely simple. It connects to my phones/iPad WiFi automatically within about 15 seconds of startup, without any issues.

SIZE: It's TINY. I can almost fit it in the palm of my hand, which means nothing to you because you don't know the size of my hands, but still - you get the idea!

PERFORMANCE: This is why I include the "to anyone who does some research" caveat in the title. Don't expect standard print quality from this printer - it's designed to give that instant film look, so highlights will be a bit more blow, colors will be a bit more muted, contrast will be notched up. Also, the prints are TINY - the paper itself is the size of a credit card, and the print area is about 2/3 of that - so don't take a macro shot of a ring and then get disappointed you can't see the details!

VALUE: It's not cheap, and the film isn't cheap. But getting these little prints up on my refrigerator, in my wallet, hanging in my hallway - priceless.

EASE OF USE: It's really very simple. Nice indicators on the front to show battery life and the number of prints you have left. Loading the film pack is as easy as taking it out of it's packaging and lining up 2 yellow lines, bam you're done.

I'm a gadget nut, and a pro photographer, and this is the most fun $200 I've spent in a long, long time!
