Product Description

Multi-Award Winning, battery-operated string-flinging machine…If cats had money, they’d buy one. No cat can live on sleep and food alone. They need a little Fling-Ama-String too. This action-packed toy hangs on any standard door knob. One end of a long, brightly-colored, silky cord (string) is sewn (with an industrial strength sewing machine.) onto a white elastic “conveyer belt” which is constantly rotating. The string flings in and out for kitty’s non-stop amusement. Cats can bite, paw, claw, pull, and ultimately STOP the string. As soon as they let go, the string automatically starts to rotate again and again and again. The toy has 2 speeds for the frisky or faint feline. Just turn it on, take a seat, and watch kitty go. DO NOT BUY, VERY DANGEROUS
by Amazon Customer (1 out of 5 stars)

I bought this for my one year old cat who has many toys he enjoys so I didn't hesitate to purchase this for him. Within a very short period of time, we were on the way to a 24 hour vet because he swallowed part of the string. Long story short, and $450.00 later (thank God for pet insurance) we saw it on the X-ray and and had to monitor him for 36 hours to see if he passed it on his own. Thank God he was ok but the vet said if he started to throw up it was a sign that they would have to do exploratory surgery to remove it as it could be fatal. You literally have to sit right next to this thing every SECOND your cat plays with it. It only took a matter of minutes for my beloved cat to be put at risk. Why would you design a toy that encourages cats to play with a string that can easily and I mean easily be digested. Should not be on the market, don't risk it, its not worth it. My little buddy is just fine but I feel the need to let others know how dangerous this product is.

IF THE WHITE BELT STOPS MOVING
by Patricia Hicks (5 out of 5 stars)
October 30, 2015

IF THE WHITE ELASTIC BELT STOPS MOVING: I've had this only 2 & 1/2 months and all of a sudden the white elastic belt stopped moving. Motor sounded normal. I read a lot of reviews here, many people praising Moody's customer service. So I went onto Moody's website and in very clear, easy to understand instructions, was able to troubleshoot my problem. The white belt moves around a little orange roller at the bottom. It's so easy to pull out the bottom orange roller. There is a tiny pin on each side of the orange roller. (like little corn cob holders). My cat's hair was wound very tightly around each pin keeping the orange roller from spinning. You'll be amazed how much hair unravels from each little pin. That's all it took. I also wanted to say something about my cat's playtime. If you have ever watched "My Cat from Hell" the cat expert explains that cats have a natural cycle of hunt, eat & sleep. This toy satisfies that hunt instinct - she will peep around the door, or try to catch it underneath the door then full-on attack mode. First thing in the morning I see her sitting next to it, she wants to play before I feed her. The rest of the day she'll swat the door to let me know she wants to play with it. She loves it so much that after she's done playing, she lays under it upside down just letting the string hit her - it's a wonderful product.

I really wanted to love this. But it drains batteries like there is ...

I really wanted to love this. But it drains batteries like there is no tomorrow. It was literally running maybe 10 minutes, barely long enough for them to even realize it was going. I came back into the room and it was completely dead. I have had it a very short time and already went through 3 sets of batteries. There is no point in that for the maybe 10 minutes they got to play with it. My boy did like it, and had it actually lasted, I might have given a better feedback.

Highly recomended by 3/4 household cats
by mem (4 out of 5 stars)

Like most cat toys, it is not for every cat. That said, 3/4 cats in my household over the past 10 years have found it to be quite engaging. One cat was too smart and got bored with it and we outsmarted him! We put the toy INSIDE the closet, so only a bit of string occasionally flicked under the door. That way (backwards essentially) he loved it until his untimely early death. We have two kitties now both of whom vie to get closest when we turn the toy on. This is our second one, the first one wore out, but it lasted about 6 or 7 years - running at a minimum of 15 minutes a week, sometimes closer to 5 minutes a day.

Still going strong after a year of hard play
by Susan B. (5 out of 5 stars)

My two large active 2 year old tabbies still go nuts for this and they are not gentle about it. They pull out the string when it's not on. When it's on, they grab and hold the string while the mechanism grinds away and still the toy works. My advice: 1. Location matters. If it's ignored in one location, try another and 2. "Retire" the toy periodically to keep it fresh for your cat.

I have NEVER seen him behave like he does with this toy
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)
April 28, 2016

Max has a lot of toys, and I mean A LOT of toys. Most of them, particularly the Catit ones, he enjoys and plays with several times a day. The same with the ping pong balls, feathers, etc. He is a playful one year old.

I have NEVER seen him behave like he does with this toy. He is mesmerized by it. After an hour of play, I put it away (in the front hall closet, when I just turned it off, he figured out how to get at the string) so he could have play time with us. He screamed and lingered at the front hall closet door. When I ignored him, he went into the living room and yelled at my husband.

Thankfully, he's a cat and 30 minutes later he forgot about it and came to see us for play and pets.

I thought this might be an isolated episode, but it was repeated the next morning and evening. It's a great toy for if you have a cat that thinks he needs your attention constantly (Max will talk to us as we are getting ready in the morning, preparing meals, watches TV with us, wants to be outside (on a harness and leash) us and you need a few minutes of peace (actually, to be fair, he does let us get on with life, it's just an easier transition with a distraction).

I should add, this is a supervised toy. I'm always just feet away when he's playing and peek over often to make sure everything's okay. Max has proven he cannot be trusted with anything string!

All this said, nobody can predict what a cat will love or not. I've bought toys I thought he'd like and he was like, "Meh. Whatcha thinkin', crazy lady."

13 THUMBS UP!
by Bill Diamond (5 out of 5 stars)
April 21, 2017

I would just like to chime in here and say that I have purchased many, many cat toys for my kittens over the years. Probably 70% did not live up to their expectations. This toy is way different and deserves some attention. Most cats, certainly not all cats, have a propensity for not being able to resist a string being waved around in front of them. And I have certainly spent many hours running around the house with poles with string trailing behind me, with a furry loaf in hot pursuit. The problem here is that the human in charge usually doesn't have the desire to keep this up for more than 20 minutes or so. I would tell you that both of my felines, Hissafur and Cleo will sit for limitless time while the Moody Pet Fling-Ama-String does its thing. This is major, watch the product video and see what you think. Simple and easy the setup takes no time and you are good to go. I have never written a review on Amazon before, however, I was compelled to do so with this product. Additionally, I would tell you that I did have an opportunity to test the customer service of Moody Pet when I called concerning a roller that had been removed and lost by one of the cats, I left a voicemail and within 24 hours I received a call back from Michelle who is sending me a replacement part. An entirely positive and enjoyable experience.

Hands Down the Best Cat Toy - Cat Approved
by Miannke (5 out of 5 stars)
January 27, 2018

I have six cats that have different preferences in what they enjoy playing with such as balls, play mice, laser pen light and various feather toys. But, the one toy that 6 out of 6 approve of is the Moody Pet Fling-Ama-String. It keeps them entertained for hours. Many times they sit in line waiting to take their turn. Attached is a photo of 5 of them using it/waiting in line. I also purchased a second one as a gift for a friend. It's so easy to install. Just insert the batteries and hang it on a door. The company also provides exceptional customer service. I guarantee your cat(s) will absolutely enjoy playing with this toy.

Short Term Fun.
by Judith D. Bedrosian (1 out of 5 stars)
February 19, 2018

This is the cutest toy and my cat loves it. It looks to be sturdy, too. However, I had to return the first one I bought because it just stopped working! I changed the batteries to no avail. Having had one several years ago with my previous cat, I knew that it would give out eventually, but not the second time we turned it on. So, we returned it , got the replacement and, doggone, if the darned thing didn't stop the second time we used it. I'm very disappointed. ...and I don't know where the string went! I'm not going to bother packing it up again and returning it. I guess I'll just remember how much fun Mitty had for the short time he had it.

MUST HAVE FOR AN ACTIVE CAT!!!!
by cvdv (5 out of 5 stars)
July 15, 2016

I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I have two Bengals which are extremely high energy. Deuter uses his (2) as a way to burn off energy. In the morning he will bang on it until I turn it on. He will usually use one or the other one about 3 times a day. THIS IS A MUST HAVE PRODUCT IF YOU HAVE AN ACTIVE KITTY!

I have been especially impressed with their replacement parts policy...FREE!!!!! In this video you will see Deuter abusing, with much passion, his beloved toy. Shortly after this video, a part was lost (and probably played with until it ran under something). This was the first time we couldn't find the bottom spindle after 8 months of extensive abuse. I contact the manufacturer and they are sending both a new spindle and elastic...FREE!!!

YOU JUST CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS COMPANY'S WARRANTY PROGRAM! LOVE THIS!\
