Alright so there's a few variations of this thing on the market.

I went with Keysmart based on some of the reviews. Some were negative, more were mostly positive.

I did prepare myself for some of the complaints about the looseness after assembly. Yes I do have this issue, but it's easily resolvable.

Instructions for assembly are found on the website (so a more environment friendly attempt - kudos for this).

For me I have a total of around 12 keys that I usually carry with me...sans car key.

My keys range in various thickness, length, and width. So I had to plan how to stack my keys - but I was expecting this...so no worries.

Ultimately I had six keys on one side, and five on the other side. This shorter side was shored up with the provided spacers.

Sure enough all you need to assembly your Keysmart is a coin or some item to act as an impromptu screw driver.

Once assembled the weight of your keys is centralized and neatly arranged...if you took the time to plan out how your keys were layered together during the construction process.

Cons:

The keyhole ring attachment - is a separate piece. So when you rotate keys out, this will rotate. Which might cause some obstruction to utilize your key(s).

The average amount of keys this product can support is definitely more around 12. Why? Because 14 assumes all your keys are uniform in length, width, and thickness.

I had a mix of different keys.

NOTE: your keys do fold back into the Keysmart frame. They actually sit out slightly.

Pros:

Great if you have a few keys that have to go with you, no matter what.

The frame is versatile enough to accommodate different keys.

Very minimalistic and compact.

Basically turns your keys into a swiss army knife.

Storage in a pocket may feel a bit heavy, but at least it's organized, and noise free.

Basically - if you're looking for something that keeps keys organized and quiet in the pocket. This is for you.

Unfortunately this isn't meant to handle all of your different keys. It can handle some and work with different types of keys.

A great option as an alternative to the keyring, if you don't have a ton of keys.

Not useful for more than 3 keys of identical size and shape. I had hoped to put 6 keys on, settled for 4 essential keys: house, 2 work keys, and my bike lock key. Even with extenders, could not fit more than bike key on 1 side, did not lie flat with remaining 3 essential keys on the other side. Spacers didn't help, and re-assembly with keys and spacers was clumsy and frustrating.

I did finally get the thing together but it really takes 3 hands to get the extenders lined up after you organize the keys. And then if you tighten the screws enough to "feel secure" your keys won't fall off, you can't get them out of the key chain. And it really relies on all your keys being the same size and if they're not (which let's face it, most of us don't have identical keys) then it's not the pretty little package they show you on the picture. Plus by the time you add in all the "extras" you hold on a key chain, this really isn't a space saver.

I have 10 keys on mine. It is a little frustrating to get the keys on but once your finished it's nice and neat. I actually tightened it down tight and the keys are Easy to move. There are reviews saying that the screws come loose but there's a rubber washer than pushes in place when you tighten it down tight. I like it.

I hate a big ring of keys jingling around in my purse or stabbing me in the leg while in my pocket and this seemed like the perfect solution. I read some reviews that talked about it being hard to assemble or the screws coming loose over time. I didn't have a bit of trouble assembling this key holder. I have 6 keys on mine--took me under 3 minutes to assemble. I use this key holder every single day for 2 months and the screws haven't loosened at all. The finish is still holding up well and I have no complaints. I purchased a second one for my husband and another for my brother and they love them as well.

I have used this for one month and decided it was time for the review.

Overall quality = good metal construction with rubber rings as spacers.

Usability= easy to move keys out and they stay in position

Assembly = this is the reason I gave it 4 stars. you really have to balance the keys on each side. If you have on big fat car key it is not so easy to do.

Would I buy one again? yes overall it is a great quality key organizer.

It will help you sneak up on zombies and not sound like a janitor's key ring.

I'm still getting used to the KeySmart. It feels like a pocket knife in your pocket, and I haven't carried one of those since many years ago as a Boy Scout. It is a very efficient use of space though, nearly halving the amount of space my keys took up in my pocket. My one regret is not getting the longer version of the metal piece. There is plenty of room to fit my 6-8 keys stacked up in the unit, but longer keys like my PO Box key get a little congested with keys across from it. If you have large keys like that, get the longer model. If you have standard sized keys only, then this will probably be a 5 star purchase for you.

I bought this as a gift for my roommate and he absolutely loves it. No more key jingle and keeps his keys tidy. I have the rugged version which is what I would recommend to get because it just looks better. But this is good if you want something more low key and thin. My only complaint is that installing your keys on it is a bit of a pain and not as easy as you think it should be. But after doing it a few times, it gets easier. It's best to lightly screw one side first then doing the other side. I wish the parts where the screws go in were longer to make it a bit more easier.

I highly recommend getting the expanders. .Even with the expanders, I only have six keys on it, and it is pretty tight. I might be able to get one more on it, but I don't think my keys are any thicker than anybody else's keys.

Also, I am very glad that I got the extended one. Extended means it is longer and holds longer keys. My office and a home deadbolt key are longer than the typical key, and I don't think the regular size one would hold these.

Even if you use the expanders and the extended version, you will not be able to fit the newer car keys which have buttons on it. I keep that key separate, which is actually very convenient.

Great idea but doesn't actually work

I'm a bit surprised by all of these reviews. It's a great idea. However putting it together is a chore and then when you finally do get it put together trying to pull out your keys is nearly impossible. If you make it tight enough so that they aren't falling out on their own then you can't pull them out. They don't line up right, you can't quite get the spacers to be correct, I really don't understand how people are loving this product. It really is a great idea and I was sad it didn't work out.
