Just do it!

If you are on the fence about buying a device to hold your phone while you ride, buy this one!!! An over-thinker, I have waited FAR TOO LONG to buy something to put on my handlebars. I have a Google Nexus 6P that is now 2 years old, and still going strong. Combining this with Google Maps for bicycles (shout out to google, why is it so hard to find the selector for biking vs. cars????? *Hint* once I've used biking directions, = make them easier to find please??????) has been in short FANTASTIC. Google Maps for bicycles finds paths that work that cut .1 miles here, .2 miles there. And this case is AWESOME because: (1) the water proof zipper. On its own, worth the price. Total "inspector gadget". (2) The "framis" that attaches to the handlebars and controls the phone is PERFECTION. And ... (3) the phone is easy to control with the touch screen through the plastic cover. Highly recommended.

Wears with age and your phone can easily fall off
by Carlos R (1 out of 5 stars)

When you push the phone holder into the mount you have to push it very hard, all the way until you hear a click. Many times I've pushed it in hard, but probably only 90% of the way in, and the phone falls off at the slightest bump. Because this has happened several times, I grew accustomed to double-checking that my phone was securely locked into place. Alas, even though I verified that it was locked into place securely, that plastic clip that held it in place had lost its strength and my phone fell off two miles after I started my ride. My rear camera showed that it promptly got run over by a truck. I used this product for 11 months, and unfortunately I can't say that I'll ever use it again.

Looking for bar mount? Look no further!
by Duncan C. St Ives (5 out of 5 stars)

This is my second one of these... Put first one on a 2001 KX250 dirt bike that I use for hard trail riding and held FAR better than expected. Survived (and successfully protected my S8) through a number of hard crashes and failed hill climbs including multiple cases where I SAW the mount take a direct impact... Finally snapped off due to an especially hard impact with a rock after wrecking on a "black" rated trail at Rush off road last week. I am so pleased with its performance that I ordered this one as a replacement. For the price I will continue to buy them... They hold up very well and even when it broke it protected my phone. I do keep the otterbox on my phone while its in the case. I was a little uncertain when I bought this as none of the reviews I saw answered some of the questions I had so I will answer them below for anyone wondering:

You CAN use the phone with it in the mount even if you have a case on (the very edges of the screen might be a little iffy but otherwise its not problem).

The case is NOT waterproof enough to submerge as water will come in where the 2 zippers meet (I don't sweat it because my phone happens to be waterproof itself) but DOES protect very well from spray, splashes and rain.

The mount DOES fit "big" dirt bike handle bars (I am using Pro Taper)

I suspect pretty much any phone will fit... It even fit my wife's Lumia 950XL with a huge case that doubles as a wallet.

This is REALLY a great product period and when you factor in the low price its truly an outstanding deal... If you are looking for a handlebar mount look no further.

Only thing I could come up with that is a possible downside is that its black... The weekend I broke it was 96-98 degrees and my S8 got too hot to use the camera after a couple hours of riding... I cooled it down by dipping it in a puddle on the side of the trail for a few minutes and it overheated again about an hour later... I try silver tape or paint marker on this one to try to keep things a little cooler.

Great for even more than just biking

I absolutely love this product. However, I don't use it for biking. I don't bike much at all. I was actually looking for a way to mount my phone to my camera rig. I use my phone as an external screen for filming. This thing fits the bill perfectly. The mount is sturdy and holds tight, keeps my phone perfectly in place, I can still use the touch screen, and none of my screen is covered by any straps. I have the Galaxy S8+ with a decently thick case and it fits this bike mount (though anything bigger will definitely not fit).

Pros:

Does it's job perfectly

Cons:

None

Very pleased with this product

It is clear a lot of thought went into making this product. Including the extra padding, which comes in varying thickness to make sure the fit is sound, is a great idea. Likewise, there's a loop on the back of the phone case so you can run a cord to your handlebars just in case, for whatever reason, the mount fails or the phone falls, it won't hit the ground. The case seems to be of high quality. Overall very pleased with it. I'm using it with a Note 5, which is a bit bigger than the advertised sizes for this unit. The Note 5 fits along with a slim case, but the edges of the phone push a bit on the case, which creates a gap between the plastic front of the case and the phone. This doesn't impact use in any way really, just a heads up for other Note 5 users in case that would be an issue for them. This is clearly labeled as a mount/case for 5.5 inch phones and the Note 5 is a 5.7, so I cannot fault the manufacturer on that.

The case holding the phone is nice and firm and seems to be of good quality material. A lot of cases like this are flimsy, with this one I think if you took a spill the case would help protect your phone, so I really appreciate that.

Overall very happy with the product and I'd definitely recommend it!

Think i found the one!

I have gone through 2 other cases, First one came off and i lost it, thankfully i didn't have my phone in it!, The next one the mount cracked after couple days being on.

This on the other hands Seems much better mount, It's actually one solid piece and the nob doesn't come off which in my opinion makes it more safer. The holder actually CLICKS on to the mount. You have to press a safety button to remove it. My other two just slid on tight but no real click to lock it, It also comes with plenty spacers inside for the right fit. It also has a ring on the back, I assume if you wanted to take extra step to never losing it you can take a strap and tie it to your bars just incase the mount ever fails.

I have scan over tons of these cases on amazon and i really believe this is the one!

Great sturdy case

I mounted this on the bars of my Harley FLSTC and have ridden ~500 miles with it so far. I use it with my LG G2 and there's a little extra room but fits well. I'm glad they included the spacers in the case to make it a snug fit. It holds my phone still even at 70mph without the windshield and I am able to follow the navigation pretty well.

Pro's: holds the phone in position
I can manipulate the screen without removing the phone from the case
The clip is sturdy and I like that it clicks in so you know it's locked in place
quick release to remove the case from the mount makes it easy to take with you when leaving the bike.

Cons: Phone gets very hot and shuts down sometimes, leaving the zipper open an inch seems to help a little bit (it was about 80 degrees)
The plastic over the screen reflects a lot of light making it hard to see the screen at certain angles.

Phone was extremely hot when removed from case and touchscreen difficult to use.

I received this today. I placed my LG G7 phone in the case and tried to use the touch screen. Apps that I did not touch would open apparently due to the screen cover flexing. I could not make it fit tightly over phone, even after putting all the spacers in the case, Also the screen was difficult to read while wearing sun glasses. The sun glasses always make the screen somewhat difficult to read but much more so with this case. My phone was extremely hot when I removed it from the case at the end of the ride. I will switch to a case that does not enclose the phone completely and just remove the phone from the bike if it rains.

Excellent smartphone holder

I'm over the moon with the iKross smartphone carrier! Initially I was having difficulty locating a holder larger enough to carry my Samsung Note 4 so coming across the iKross on was a real bonus ;-). I was impressed by the build on the unit (being from an engineering background) and overall it appeared quite robust. I've been off road with it several times attached to my bike and so far it has handled the rigors of rough terrain with ease...long my it last ;-).

Failed and my phone was run over

Decent product at a great price. I use it on a motorcycle. Fits well and is secure. The only complaint is the glare off the plastic cover in direct sun makes it hard to see. I have not ridden in the rain with it yet.

Update one year later. I really liked this product but had concern that the locking device might weaken and fail over time. Well that finally happened at the top of an on-ramp merging with traffic on an Interstate highway. Basically the worst place possible for you phone to liberate itself from your motorcycle. My phone was instantly run over and destroyed.
