Damaged and missing pieces

I guess the poke marts are stackable because some of them are stuck together & won't come apart. One of the poke marts are also broken. The board came damaged in various places. The real estate cards are missing and have duplicates on some. (Photos provided)

I ordered this in 2017. We have at least 4 other different versions of monopoly but Pokémon has always been a favorite of mine. So fast forward to today, 01/22/2019, and we finally opened the Pokémon monopoly. After giving out the money and rolling the dice to see who goes first, we realized that there were chance or property cards in the box. This sucks. Now we can play a game that I've owned for a year and a half all because I received an incomplete set and didn't check till now

Not as brand new as i was lead to believe

It said it was brand new but when I got it I quickly realized that it was not. The faces on the Pokemon tokens we're all but completely rubbed off to where you really couldn't see their facial features I can only tell who they were by their body shape. I can also tell it wasn't brand new because all of the Monopoly pieces came in Ziploc bags instead of the normal plastic wrap that it becomes in and the game itself wasn't wrapped up in a plastic wrap.

On the other hand all the pieces we're here the cards didn't seem to have any heavy usage.

Almost didn't by this because of negative reviews, but my niece is a pokemon fan and the $200 version was not realistic for an 8 year old. Got this one and she LOVED it. Quality seemed quite good and she was super impressed with all the pokemon stuff -- which I don't understand at all. Within minutes she had everyone playing and has been playing almost daily for 2 weeks. God bless her parents.

Despite the blemish from shipping (smushed corner) I am giving this 5 stars. The product is exactly as described. Better yet the pieces are all great quality (weighty so I assume they will age well, the board is solid with quality overlay that should survive regular use). I'm up in the air about the way the contents of the box smell like bad cheese & farts. On one hand it's disgusting and on the other I'm sure if I smelled cheese like this I would still eat it.

EDIT: Upon further inspection we are missing the first 10 property cards. Will be contacting amazon.

Love the asethetics of the game and everything about the design itself, but my set came with 17 professor oak( got 2 "advance token to pokeball" card ironically) cards and 27 deeds(supposed to come with 16 poke trainer cards, 16 prof oak, and 28 deeds). I am not missing as many items as others and I'm lucky the pokeball deed was the only one I was missing because it's essentially the same as others so I made my own card with an index card. Would give 5 stars, but unfortunately it didn't arrive perfectly. If it did, 10/10 would recommend, but can not guarantee you'll be at least as lucky as I was with the purchase. Totally worth the price though.

Monopoly! With Pokemon! Yay!

Well, having read the other reviews (after I made the purchase), I was worried I'd get a horrible disappointment in the mail. But nope! Looks like they've fixed their product. The money was good (no double 500 pokedollar bills), the tokens were beautiful, and everything was great! Family had a lot of fun playing it. It did feel like just your regular Monopoly though, I agree. We own several versions of Monopoly and some have their own special rules and mechanics. It would have been nice if this had a special Pokemon twist. I read about the "doubles" rules of the original game, but it didn't feel right implementing it if it's not in the actual rules of this version. And even then that's still pretty basic. Anywho, I'd still buy again just for the fact that I'm a big Pokemon fan and because this was the first time EVER that my spouse has played anything Pokemon related with me (been married 6 years). It was great xD Thanks, Monopoly, for making this possible.

*UPDATE* After leaving my review the company reached out to me & sent a new game board immediately. The new game board is in perfect condition. Very happy with the purchase now!
*ORIGINAL REVIEW* I purchased this game as a birthday gift for my 9 year old Pokémon obsessed son. We just opened it & the sticker that is the board game is not aligned with the board. So the board game sticker is peeling completely off. Other than that my kids love it.

I bought this for my grandson's 10th birthday because he is a huge Pokemon player. He loved it and it was his favorite gift as it combined one of his favorite games to play with his favorite characters. Great collector's item as well.

Would return it but my nephew loves it. (He's 5 years old and didn't know any better)

As you can see from the pictures I took as soon as I opened the game, the cards are different sizes and the board is falling apart. Don't waste your money people.

Nice version for fans and collectors, but I wish it added new mechanics

The game follows the same formula as monopoly. It has some nice humour and references for fans of the Pokemon franchise, but I was disappointed that it doesn't introduce a new mechanic to the game. My wife bought this for me and I enjoyed it. We have classic monopoly and collect board games. We were both disappointed that the game doesn't change or introduce mechanics from classic monopoly for this version.
