This is "really" a great Cart / wheel barrel!
by FJ Guy (5 out of 5 stars)
December 9, 2017

Ok, let me see if I can clear up a few things. First off, after reading quite a few of the reviews, I "almost" cancelled my order thinking I was ordering some sort of Children;s PlaySchool wheel barrel toy. I couldn't have been more wrong.

Here's the unbiased truth on this cart. If you are a Construction Worker hauling bags of cement or really heavy materials in bulk, DO NOT purchase this item. This is for the typical home owner that not only needs a wheel barrel that is stable and easy on the back, but a tool that can also convert into something other than a wheel barrel like a dolly, plant lifter or stone hauler. I've had two back surgeries and even though I have healed up great, this little gem takes all the weight and I am no longer limited when it comes to landscaping.

Sure, the actual cavity could have been a bit bigger but I think the designers looked at the average amount of material people actually put in the "well" area and settled on an ergonomic design that really takes the stress off your back. I am 6'7" and the way this thing is built with the handles tilted upward, makes lifting and letting the bucket / well down with ease. I've had bags of stone, sand, wood chips and such in it and it has plenty of room to get the job done safely. The metal is rugged and thick and I can already tell this unit is going to last a long time. Sure, my other wheel barrel was HUGE but since it was so big, I couldn't fill it to capacity without worrying about the darn thing tipping on me. As a former power lifter it is not a matter of strength but a matter of stability over terrain when in use.

I read on one of the reviews that the bearings came off the plastic wheels? As a former engineer, you would of had to seriously overloaded this cart or tried to use the trailer hitch ball on something with a monster tongue weight to dislodge the bearings. The way I see it, using this cart in a "normal" fashion will provide years of care free use. The fit, finish, and quality of this cart is great, Yes, I am sure that occasionally there may be a defect from the factory for some people but when I looked my cart over in great detail, I found NO faults whatsoever. Even a brand new 100 million dollar aircraft has an occasional fault here and there, show me one product in history that hasn't.

Truth is folks, this little cart is great and I was even able to hang it on the wall in my garage using the hole on the dolly tongue.Took all of ten minutes to put together and test out all the features. Plus, it really is nice to just use this whenever I want and not worry about having to pump up the air filled tires anymore like the one on my old wheel barrel. By the way, I didn't use my old wheel barrel that much so it sat in the garage for weeks on end but with the AeroCart, I use it for other functions quite a bit and I have since sold my old dolly, made a few dollars cash, and freed up some room in my garage,

Would I recommend this? Darn right I would!

Buyer beware what you are getting!

Let me start by saying the TV infomercial reeled me in and I bought this from Amazon. I was excited to get this thing. I am sorry it ever arrived! Be aware it is VERY small and holds very little. It is narrow and shallow and you can fit one bad of mulch in it and it is hard to maneuver, unlike the people on the commercial, I had difficulty as it is short to the ground and I am only 5'5" and if you stand up out of a stoop position to push it all your clippings slide out onto the ground. I wish I could return it but I have used it for the first time this morning and I did not keep the box. I have not tried to move any flower pots with it but I have my doubts about anything advertised about this thing. I am going to pump up the wheel on my old wheel barrow and go back to using that. Another thing about the two wheels on the aerocart;they are hard and it is not as easy to push it as an inflatable tire no matter what they said on the infomercial. If you want one, send me the shipping and you can have mine for free. That is how much I think this thing is worth. I learned a $140 lesson.

Some perspective-straddling between toy and workhorse
by J. Calhoun (4 out of 5 stars)

This is the lightest metal cart I could find that is not a kiddie wagon or a very light wheelbarrow, yet my wife still prefers to use a broken plastic one that is lighter. She would rather buy a new plastic cart yearly (every one of those cracks and breaks, about yearly, because it must be stored outside). I find it lightweight, but she thinks it is heavy. A lighter steel one would be totally useless imo, it is excellent for those folks who are not big bruisers, for those have difficulty balancing a hundred pounds in a wheelbarrow, and for lady gardeners who want something sturdier than plastic. I find the cheap steel wheelbarrows and wagons to be hard to use due and even dangerous, in comparison to commercial ones, because of cheap wheels, tires and bearings, poor design, etc.

In response to the reviewers who lament that you cannot carry 600 pounds of rocks or 8 bags of dirt in this--this is for the lady, elderly, disabled, small and so forth, who find it a challenge to handle more than a bag or two of mulch/dirt at a time. If you work with hundreds of pounds at a time, get a commercial wheelbarrow!!! (A good one starts at about $350 & up, don't even think of getting one of the cheapies).

It is narrow for a reason--some need to move things through doors and through the house, and over stairs. You cannot do that with wheelbarrows and other carts. It's good to use when a small person is trying to fill up a yard waste bag alone or has to move a 30 pound pot around, when there isn't a big burly guy around.

We are retired, have a detached condo with fenced yard, and do light yard and outside house maintenance. We don't have a lot of space to store a cart and a dolly in our garage. We have averaged a plastic cart every year or two, no matter how expensive, because the plastic in them breaks/cracks, so I want steel. I did not want a wagon (these always have pneumatic tires-- which have always failed us in the past). We want large wheels that don't go flat; two of them for stability. She needs something close to the ground. We can't spend $200+ on this. We cannot handle a wheelbarrow with 4 bags in it anymore.

I flip the handles upside down to make it easier for me, a 6' guy, to handle (takes less than 10 seconds), and I flip them back to the normal position for my wife is small and short.

The main utility portion of this unit is rated at 300 pounds. Looking at the sturdy individual parts, I'd say that is very conservative. The accessories are light duty, but as I said, big strapping guys don't need those. If you have the room and your lady gardens, get her one of these (or buy plastic carts yearly), and get a real commercial wheelbarrow for yourself.

We just started using it this spring, so I am only giving it 4 stars. If it lasts as long as I suspect, I'll update the review in a year or two up to 5 stars.

Don't waste your money, energy, or space
by Living Great! (2 out of 5 stars)
December 31, 2017

Purchased this product as a Christmas gift for the two of us. I am an avid gardener and yard person. I was looking for a new wheelbarrow when I came across this multifunctional cart. It seemed to have a lot of features that we would use in the garden. I particularly liked the fact that it could be used as a dolly and had flat-free tires.

Overall , it is Not worth the money or aggravation.

It has a great deal of features and applications. So far I have used the cart for a couple of projects.
1) Haul garden debris in the basin.
2) Bag feature to haul pine straw
3) Bag feature for leaves

Pros:

Multifunctional

Ability to add pieces to increase functionality

Bag holder feature. The elastic band holds the trash bag in place securely around the metal hoop while filling. Extra room below/behind the bag within the basin allows the user to stash and haul more debris while the full bag secures that load.

Flat-free tires

Dolly

Easy to assemble

Sturdy

Cons:

Heavy. Pushing the cart without a load is heavy. Pushing the cart with a load is heavier--for obvious reasons. Pulling the cart seems to reduce workload when going uphill or over rough terrain. By rough terrain, I mean an uneven grassy area of yard. [Ridiculous, that I even have to describe my yard as rough terrain.]

Often times when we use a dolly, we transport it with us to pick up an item from a neighbor's house, etc. There is no way I can lift this thing into the truck to use it at a different location. I need a lift just to lift this thing!

Flat-free tires. The tires have no "give" to them. There is no "bounce", which makes maneuvering the cart more energy demanding. When pushing the cart over an uneven walkway, the cart immediately stops if encountering a bump or lip of walkway greater than 2". The user must alternate a slight lifting action of the handles in order to overcome the bump. Forget about maneuvering over a rock or brick and any interference greater than 2" in height from ground surface. Back up and go around, or move the interference. Aggravation.

Plant transporter. I'll probably never this feature. We have an established landscape, and it's just to heavy to haul the neighbor's house to assist with tree planting projects.

Rock transporter. I might use this feature to haul bricks or pavers, but seeing how I can't get it to roll over rough terrain without expending a lot of excessive energy defeats the purpose.

Right now I have a crappy red wheelbarrow that does one thing: hauls stuff. But the crappy wheelbarrow seems to outperform the WORX cart by far. Even with a replacement tire and a metal bar that occasionally drags on the wheel, I have a better workhorse for my garden projects.

I'll continue to use the WORX cart because it cost $118.00 (on-sale) and it would cost $31 to return it plus the aggravation of having to "package it in its original packaging".

I did read a lot more of the reviews after the fact...big mistake. So hopefully, you are reading this BEFORE you bought the product.

Do yourself a favor and just buy a wheelbarrow, unless you like to waste money, energy, and space in your garage.

good cart, so so condition

I decided to keep this cart despite shipping(?) damage. It looks very useful for an older person with shoulder, back, and hand issues. I can no longer lift 80 lb without help. Assembly was easy except for the stiff cotter pins for the wheels. The deal price was right, and I'll probably beat it up myself, but still it is difficult to see how inside scratches and outside dents to the cart all occurred inside the box.

Useless unless you live in a tiny yard...
by Victoria Parsons (1 out of 5 stars)

If you're looking to have the coolest wheelbarrow in your neighborhood, buy one of these. If you're looking for a functional wheelbarrow to make you a more effective gardener, don't bother. I bought this mainly for fertilizer because I'm 60 years old and weigh 110 lbs. It's hard to handle a wheelbarrow across my mulched garden but this isn't much help. With a 50-pound bag, it was easy to move except I had to practically hunch in half to prevent it from falling out. It's waaaay smaller than it looks too, that bag pretty much filled it up. It will probably make a nice dolly but it's highly overpriced for what I needed.

Extremely cheap construction. One of the adjustment knobs broke the first time I used it. The bucket is too small for most jobs other than moving a flower plant or two around the yard. The "fork lift" part stuck and took me 5 minutes to fix the first time I used that part. In ended up buying a real wheel barrow the day after I received the WORX.

Quality item. Kid sized garden tool.
by Amazon Customer (3 out of 5 stars)
March 19, 2017

I am giving it 3 stars because it is not much of a wheel barrow. It works fine as a furniture dolly and the leaf collection attachment is handy, and the potted plant sling is handy if you have quality pots. As a wheel borrow though, it only holds about 8 shovel fulls of dirt. It also sits very low to the ground so there is a lot more bending over than a real wheel barrow involves. It is a quality item that I am sure will last many years. Even more so now that I still have to buy an actual wheel barrow.

Almost completely useless. When you lift the unit the downward slope ...
by Tin Turtle (1 out of 5 stars)
June 19, 2017

Almost completely useless. When you lift the unit the downward slope and shape of the container just makes everything slide out the front. Forget about carrying any quantity of dirt or stone as you have to hunch over with it to keep the cargo from falling out. Its a pretty toy for little old gardeners, but not useful for any real work.

well made hobby wheelbarrow - nice toy
by NSB (1 out of 5 stars)
May 24, 2015

This is a toy, for use with light weight yard work. Not for serious yard work. It's well made, and the gimmicky attachments are a nice thought. Watch the infomercial and you'll see who the target audience is. If you're planning on humping 20 yards of mulch get a real wheelbarrow.
