I am editing my original review because the company offered a new Tether Tug to replace the broken one. I am pleased the company cared enough to make the situation right.

Now Lola is very happy and so am I !

For anyone considering this purchase I am offering the following information.

I am attempting to reduce the stress on the bottom of the pole by adding "CUSHIONING IN THE FORM OF VERY HEAVY DUTY TAPE" between the pole and the metal ground insert. I expect this will reduce the stress at the base of the pole and prevent the pole from breaking in this problem area.

Tether Tug Dog Toy for Medium & Large Dogs

My dog loves/loved this thing. It took her a little while to understand how to play with it, but when she did she would go nuts. I got the large one and it seemed to not be tall enough for my German Shepard. She broke it after about 2-3 weeks just above the mounting stake. Just contacted the company about it and will see what customer service is like. I have see reviews that say they are good at replacing there product.

EDIT: So I just wrote this a minute after I contacted the company about it breaking. By the time I was done they had already sent me an E-mail.
"We are so sorry to hear about your Tether Tug breaking. We handmake each tug here in Missouri, and unfortunately sometimes we have a defect in the materials or process. We will gladly send you a new Tether Tug ASAP. We are finalizing an "XL" version of the Tether Tug and should have it on the market by the end of the week, and will send you one of those as soon as we release it. It has a much stronger core and should hold up much better for you."

So I I am Very Happy with this product and company. The Dog is too! Woof Woof.

My dogs love this, it's a great product. After reading the other reviews on the dog that was injured I did replace the black clip that holds the rope with a "quick link" so they can't injure their mouth.

Pit Bull Hasn't Destroyed it!

Made in the USA!!

My Pit Bull loves his Tether Tug. He gives it a good workout and it holds up just great. He will play with it until he is exhausted, he usually has to take a nap when he's finished.

We purchased the Uber model for our 10 month old Golden Retriever puppy, Mia. By the end of the first week Mia had managed to destroy the upper section so it is beyond repair. I feel I was duped into believing the product was durable. I am beyond disappointed with the product!

Great device, minimal room for improvement

I have a boxer and 2 german shepherds and they all thoroughly enjoy it. If i had room in my yard, I'd get another.

To the manufacturer, I'd change 2 things. Somehow work a bolt on swivel directly to the top (the mesh works, but if a swivel would have unrestricted movement, i believe it would work better). If a swivel attachment was added in tje future, have the carabiner attach at that point on the top. Where it attaches now, my boxer is obsessed and wants the metal in her mouth and im afraid she will damage teeth or fishhook herself if she pulls on it while open.

Waste of money

The pole and tug lasted a total of about 30 mins. My dog pulled on the rope and the rubber wrap around the pole slowly slid off. He destroyed the pole and rope in about 30 mins. My dog is an 8 month old American Bully weighing around 60lbs. Waste of money. As you can see in the picture, the rubber around the pole sliding off in the first five minutes.

WARNING!!!! Those of you all that have or want to buy a TETHER TUG be careful! I got my tug last year and have had it about 6-8 months. My dog just had to have surgery due to the tug. There is a part on the tug that is metal and my dogs mouth got hung in it. After 8 hrs of surgery, 3 (2 canines and a smaller one) teeth removed, and her in ICU my girl has finally made it home and is recovering. BE AWARE!!!!

Size doesn't matter

After I installed the tether into the ground as instructed and showed my 38 pound Australian Cattle dog what I had bought him and got him to playing with it, I went off doing other things. I looked out two hours later and seen the whole thing laying on the ground. He had dug up the short piece of pipe and had the tether laying on the ground all chewed up. I later installed the rope on a chain to a tree limb. He destroyed the rope in a day. I think I should offer my dog as a test dog for toys that are declared strong for any dog. He also chewed up a non chewable leash in about three minutes. That's another subject.

Best toy for a hyper Boston Terrier!

My Boston Terrier LOVES this toy! She will beg to go outside just so she can tug and swing around on it for HOURS. I have to pry her off of it and carry her into the house to get her away from the Tether Tug. I used the attached rope toy and tied on one of those rubber webbed balls (you can see it in the video, on the ground, before i thought to tie it on). This gives her a better item to grab on to when playing with it. Also, the ball acts like a cushion and bounces off the pole when ever it gets out of her mouth. Without the ball attached, she would try to bite the rope tug and accidentally run into the pole. Highly recommend this and it will keep your dog (and the curious neighbors) very entertained!
