Fun and easy!

OMG so much fun and so easy! The only negative thing I have to say about this kit is that I wished it had come with multiple sized rubber bands. My project turned out better than I expected for this being the first time I tie dyed something. I recommend watching a bunch of YouTube videos before starting to figure out the best way to twist up your material to get the desired effect. I personally found it much easier to use the "damp method" ... meaning, your fabric should be damp when you twist/bind it up. It makes it easier to get tight folds and your final design is much less sloppy.

Loved it!

This is a huge blanket. (My husband is 6'5) This is the entire kit worth of ink.

It was easy to use and not as messy as other kits. The colors turned out bright and pretty.

My husband and I tie-dyed a bunch of baby onesies. We are super pleased with the results!! The colors turned out great, too. The kit, along with the dye, came with a plastic mat that we used to protect the patio, gloves, and rubber bands! We left them to set for 14 hours (overnight) in individual baggies, rinsed them under cold water by hand, and then washed them with detergent before hanging them to dry.

Will buy this kit again!

Kids LOVED every single part of the process. The preparation, the actual dyeing, the waiting and the washing and wearing!

It comes with every single thing you need to tie-dye. (Aside from the fabric you wish to color) And it comes with a lot of dye. The instructions are very detailed and even have a few tutorials on various patterns you can use.

We managed to dye so many pieces with this kit...I do believe, 6 shirts, a tapestry(which was a queen sheet) and a pillowcase with a lot left over.

It says to use the dye within 1 hour of mixing them up becuse it will begin to fade and the colors won't be as vibrant. Which was plenty of time. The kids can't wait to do more. The clean up is super easy and it's not messy. We used baking racks to dye ours on outside and tang worked well. We wrapped them in plastic grocery bags we had lying around and then wrapped them the plastic "tarp" it comes with. In the Texas summer heat. We rinsed and washed them 9 hours after they were finsihed dying and the colors are still vibrant after going through the laundry a few times! Cheap and easy fun!

Great for larger groups

These were great!

They were used with about 25 children, grades ranging all the way from Pre-K to 5th grade (with some adult assistance for younger kids obviously). We gave them a limit of 2-3 colors per person, so it was just enough for our big group.

The kids had so much fun for about 40 minutes. They were able to get creative with their patterns and colors.

Some of them bunched up the t-shirt for the pattern, while some kids used a brush to design their t shirt.

I printed out instructions for each kid of how to take care of the shirt before their first wear, and put it in a ziplock to take home.

They came out great!

So easy and so fun. T-shirts are often on sale at AC Moore (about $2 a shirt) so it was a very affordable project with an actually usable keepsake at the end of it!

I take back this review- my error for getting not 100% cotton or close to items to dye. I brought this 2 other time since and had amazing results! Such awesome colors and a very good variety!

When I unbanded everything it looked amazing. Once washing ALL the color came out! All that was left was blue. Wasted an entire sheet set. So upset. In the instructions it says to washbin hot water an I thought won't that make the colors bleed? But followed them anyway. Probably what did it. I'm attaching a pic before and after wash.

The good: there we re a lot of colors to choose from, my daughter and I ended up doing 6 shirts and we used half of the colors (saving the rest for another time). Some of the colors were pretty similar, but that made it easy to split the kit in half.

The bad: I followed the directions exactly as given, but once I washed the shirts out, they looked very faded, like we made them years ago. The kit we got last summer produced much more vibrant colors that lasted after washing, and look more vibrant even now, a year later.

Overall, it is a nice kit, especially in terms of color variety and amount of product you receive. It is easy to use and comes with design suggestions (which we used, and we made some pretty cool patterns).

Awesome Kit

I am a teacher and got 9 of these kits through a DonorsChoose project (through Amazon) to dye 125 shirts for our field day event. These kits were even better than I expected, they come with a big clear plastic cover, tons of rubber bands, gloves, and bottles with pre measured dye. All we had to do was fill the bottles with regular tap water. A bunch of other teachers and kids helped and we had a blast doing this. We were able to do more shirts with each kit than expected and didn't even have to use them all. We rinsed, washed, and dryed them after letting them sit over the weekend. They came out super vibrant. (We did not pre wash them before hand). I did some for myself and have washed them several times and there has been no fading yet. The best part about this kit is that it comes with such a huge variety of colors. I am sure I will be buying more of these in the future.

Best product, for your money!

This brand is always my "Go-to brand for the dye" it comes with 18 bright and unique colors. All the dyes were perfect as far as concentration and contrast. I will say you should purchase your own rubber bands as we had two if these kits and both had dry rotted rubber bands, however that is no reason to down grade the kit, it happens! So just to be sure you have enough for all of your projects buy your own pack of rubber bands. Also the gloves do NOT FIT CHILDREN . You will have a sloppy mess on your hands if you have young kids trying to dye clothing with these gloves on. They help a tiny bit but my girls still had colored hands due to the gloves not fitting. Some of the dye even soaked threw the gloves they give you staining my own hands! The dye it's self is wonderful though we made some very unique and colorful designs. We had 8 people using one kit and everyone had at least two to three items they were able to dye. I recomend this kit over anything else listed on Amazon as it's the most for your money plus amazing quality. I also want to add "I get nothing for placing my reviews, my reviews are 100% my own feelings and opinions of products in my 100% honest opinion!"

was a bucket of fun! we used the whole set with about 6 adult tees and 6 smaller pieces. i wish i had paid closer attention to the details. the dying is easy. tie your bundle. dry over night. what i should have done was leave them in bundle and dunk repeated until water runs clear. THEN unwrap them. most of our white areas are a lavender color as we had too much residual water.

we also would wash each item by itself for the first cycle. overall the colors have stayed true and the kit has everything. good job tuliip!
