Great tool for the price.

Not sure why all the horrid reviews, and honestly, I feel like most of them are pretty over-exaggerated. This thing is cheap and works great. I used zucchinis the first time around. This is not as 'wasteful' as many other reviews made it out to be. I lost very little of the veggies I used, and what I did lose was the stem and the seeds in the middle, which I don't want anyway. I didn't have an issue with cutting myself like other reviews stated. When I got down to the last bit of vegetable, I stabbed the top with a fork and continued to spin away. The only thing that I could see as a potential snag is that you need a decent size vegetable in order to be able to make noodles from. Skinny carrots, likely, wont work. This wasn't an issue in my first use, but definitely something to keep in mind. Maybe my only other concern would be how the blades will wear over time, but this thing is pretty cheap so I guess I could just buy a new one at that point.

Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this product.

Worth every penny!

I have used this spiral slicer twice a day since I received it. I make breakfast and supper for my wife. We are trying to reduce carbs in her diet and so far, it seems to be working. She has dropped six pounds in the past week!

I have spirally sliced carrots, zucchini, cukes, squash (butternut and yellow), celery, ect. In short, if I can fit it in, it gets sliced!

Since this comes with a cleaning brush and a cover, it is easy to clean and use even on the small pieces.
This is worth every penny I spent simply because it works as advertised.

Just as a general aside, one person was irritated because of a cut finger. Here is a hot tip. DON'T STICK YOUR FINGER INSIDE OF IT!

This thing is SHARP!

Fun kitchen gadget

This is so easy to use. It's like a giant pencil sharpener. Just twist the zucchini and out comes pretty noodles. Leave the skin on. It's fast, only took me a couple minutes to do 5 zucchini.

Just a quick rinse with a little soap, then air dried to clean it. Comes with a little cleaning brush if needed.

I really enjoy using it!

Not one of my best kitchen things.

Surely not one of my favorite food gadgets. It does a decent job of making skinny strands of zucchini, which adds a couple of options for using this healthy vegetable, but I tried it with carrots and it didn't work well at all (a long skinny carrot 'center' comes out the other end...what do you do with that?) It's not particularly well-made, and the blades inside the funnel-shaped hopper are very easy to nick your fingers on as you twist the vegetable. The little lid/pusher thing that you are supposed to use to push the last end of the vegetable in doesn't do much, since it doesn't actually go into the tube where the blades are, it stops flush with the end. I see a garage sale in the near future.

Looking for a sprializer - so I read the reviews for the "best sprializer" and everyone said that this was the best value for the money - and if you did not want to get on the band wagon of a new kitchen gadget to sit on your shelf. I ordered it and it came in a nice little box with instructions, a peeler and brush. I used it immediately on zucchini and it was amazing! - it was not so great on sweet potato. The end piece to but on the vegetable to stop help twist the vegetable at the end is not that great. BUT for 9.99 who can beat this - I made veg this way everyday for a week and will continue to use it, in fact bought it for my cousin - it is great and you cannot beat the price!

I use this spiralizer to make 'zoodles' out of zucchini since I cannot eat regular pasta.
by luckbealady (5 out of 5 stars)

I have used this spiralizer many times to make 'zoodles'... from zucchini. I cannot eat wheat pasta and try to avoid grains altogether most of the time. It only takes a few minutes to spiralize an entire zucchini. Sometimes I will just microwave the 'noodles' for several minutes in the microwave then top with sauce. They stay a bit 'al dente' and taste better with spaghetti sauce than regular pasta, in my opinion. Sometimes I will cook the 'noodles' in a pan over the stove for a few minutes and sprinkle them with a bit of salt, pepper, butter and garlic and eat them without any sauce. It is pretty easy to clean this item if I do so IMMEDIATELY after using it. Otherwise, the zucchini bits will dry and harden between the small blades, making it much more difficult to clean.

Gets the job done, mostly.

Does what its supposed to do. If you're going to spiralize a lot, you might want one with a crank. This takes a while. Also I have cut myself trying to finish off my veggie. You will have about 1.5 inches of left over vegetable. But, if you just want to give spiralizing a try, this isn't a bad way to get started. Just like everyone says, like sharpening a pencil. it came with a nice pouch. the free peeler is a hard plastic blade and cracked on me the first day. The cap with spikes is about useless, clever, but useless. I poked a fork in the end of my zucchini and got a little more out of it. Again, if you just want to give it a try, this will do the trick as well as any other handheld one out there, but if you're committed or want to use an apple or potato or anything larger than a zucchini, you might want to opt for the nicer hand crank one.

Does the job but has its limitations
by Dianna W (4 out of 5 stars)

I bought this for my son and his wife, who live in an apartment and don't have a lot of room. I own the Paderno spiralizer, but it takes up more storage and counter space so it didn't fit the bill in this case. I would consider this !o be an adequate tool for a small space and limited usage. It gets the job done, but takes a lot of repeated hand turning if you're doing several squash. Also, I found a fork stuck in the end of the squash to be a more effective way to deal with the vegetable when it gets short than the end cap holder provided. Seller seems quite interested in assuring satisfaction. Advice would be if you're planning on lots of spiralizing and want a wider choice in blades, go for the Paderno, but if you're an occasional user and aren't cooking for a crowd, and especially if you're space is limited, go for this or similar.
