Parot Spider: Junk Do Not Waste Your Money At Any Price
by R. Wristen (1 out of 5 stars)
April 16, 2018

Deal of the day $19.99 thought for 20 bucks if it flew a few times it'd be fun. Got it in, read instructions, downloaded the suggested app WHICH THEN SAID download another different app but both were free. Found the power switch, but battery was dead, although it says it's already charged. Found USB charging cord and plugged it in to charge battery for 90 minutes (it has a 8 minute running time before the battery dies by the way according to instructions). 90 minutes later battery STILL DEAD. I charged it then for 6 hours, still DEAD. Two more repeated charging attempts. I changed usb cords, tried two computers, tried a wall charger and STILL DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!

DO NOT BUY it is a RIP-OFF. Deal of the day? More like petty theft. Shame on you!

Camera not functional with new app; nonexistent customer service from Parrot...
by Joe (2 out of 5 stars)
April 16, 2018

This is a nice little drone but Parrot updated their FreeFlight 3 app, now called FreeFlight Mini, and the camera button/ option is nowhere to be found on the new app for the Rolling Spider so the camera is no longer functional. And forget trying to get any customer support because it is pretty much nonexistent. With regards to battery life, I'm getting about 8-minutes of flying time per charge. I thought $19.99 was a great deal for this but now I'm not so sure...

UPDATE:
04/17/2018

Emailed Parrot's customer service regarding the camera issue and first I was told that this model does not have a camera. After I emailed them the product description from Parrot.com, Amazon.com, as well as a photo of the side of the box where it indicates that it does have a camera, they told me the camera button is on the upper right side of the control screen of the FreeFlight Mini app. Literally went in a complete circle with them as the reason why I contacted them in the first place is because there is no camera button on the app, upper right side or anywhere else. Returning this.

Slow response, but hard to break
by Karl G. (4 out of 5 stars)

Durability is this units strong point. It's very very difficult to break. Having said that, the controls are where this unit falls short. There is a tremendous amount of lag between control and response. Second downfall is the battery life. It's pretty bad, maybe 7 mins if that.

Who should purchase this? Probably an intermediate user of quadcopters or those looking for a solution that won't wreck the house.

Very nice refurbished done A+

This little drone packs a punch. While i don't like having touse an app to control it but since it's blue tooth connection Im guessing there isn't a controller that you can buy forthis drone. Mine was refurbished but looks and plays like new. Almost impossible to hurt this drone if you have the wheels on.

Not worth the $$
by FireNub (2 out of 5 stars)

It broke on the first day I used it. Parrot replaced for free, but very inconvenient. Also, really no better then the $50 drone with camera. Also, the Bluetooth remote function w/ smart phone does NOT work as well as a separate remote control, which it does not come with. Also, the camera is in a weird place, underneath the body. I guess if you wanted to film stuff from the top it is ok, but if you want to film an event and say get a persons face in the picture its no good.

This product really was not thought out very well before going to market.

Perfect for the iPod touch!

My son got this for his birthday. He loves it. Once you get good at it you can get it to roll the walls. The camera is OK and just enough for his iPod touch. Buy an extra battery.

Doesn't take pictures as specified. Flies fine though. But I needed it for taking pictures and it just doesn't do it, at least not with an Android.

I purchased this item for my son. We charged it for 1 1/2 hrs and didn't even get the 8 min of flight time. It's cute but not worth the $60 plus. Would be nice if the battery was long lasting.

Held up well in a middle school coding class.
by MiddleSchoolTeacher (5 out of 5 stars)

We made it through our first semester of a middle school coding class, they held up well. Good investment-camera is not compatible with swift playground, but otherwise worked well. Battery life is short, but as advertised, buy extra as they only last about 6 minutes.
