Why so expensive?

I don't mind that it has tiny wires and looks like a teenager glued it together in the garage for a huge profit, but:
1. green, blue and red lights come on when activated, making it obvious
2. sd card is very difficult to insert
3. daytime and nighttime video quality is worse than my $40 unit
4. about 10% video files were unreadable, and several were slow motion. (?)
5. I was unable to set correct date stamp
