These new Sweet Heat Skittles are pretty polarizing. Most people either love them or hate them. I personally like the flavors, but unlike regular Skittles these aren't really good if you eat them individually, nor are they really 'spicy' per se. I seem to get the best experience getting a small handful, like 10 or so, and popping them all in at once. As you chew you get all the sweet and very little of the spice...you feel a slight heat around the outer edge of your tongue. The interesting experience is when you swallow them, as by then you have generated the combined 'juice' of mashed Skittles and your saliva, and after you swallow that, you really do start to feel the heat. Not really spicy heat to me...almost feels more like a bloodrush to your throat and neck. It's a pleasant feeling.

Cheaper if you can find them local.

Eat a spicy pepper, wait until you can't taste anything but the lingering heat, and eat a regular Skittle. That's what it's like to eat Skittles Sweet Heat. I love spicy sweets, and I enjoyed the novelty of a mainstream spicy sweet, but the novelty wears off quickly and you're left with an entire bag of what are essentially regular Skittles. The spicy doesn't go with the Skittles, doesn't add to the flavor, and isn't really hot enough to grant any sense of bravado. Fun for an impulse buy, but I won't be getting these again.

To describe the experience of eating these with a little more detail, the first thing you taste is untainted sweetness, like you've just put a simple sugar hard candy in your mouth. Then the gentle tang you expect from Skittles, almost fruity but definitely candy. Then there's a tickle of heat, gentle at first, but builds as you chew. It doesn't blend with the flavors, but runs alongside them, almost as if they were from a different meal. Ultimately, you swallow, and the heat lingers for a few moments, and fades back down to nothing.

Bag is smaller than you think!

Enjoy sweet heat Skittles but the bag was much smaller than I imagined $6 would get me. If I'm not mistaken Wal-Mart has a large bag for about the same price. I need 2 get over there now to compare. This particular quantity for the price seems like a rip-off.

UPDATE: I have in front of me a 12 oz bag that I got from Wal-Marks for $2.60 (roughly). So, for the price of the 7.2 oz you could have over 24 oz!!! UGH! Why???

I LOVE these hot skittles! I like spicy food ok, but I'm not one of those who looks for the spiciest thing I can find or always order the spicy menu item. But there's something about these. They are sweet, chewy & loaded with that classic skittles mouthwatering flavor, but they have a bit of heat on the back end. It's a bit unusual at first, but these are addictive.

They taste quite nice, but they're not really that hot. A little tingle of heat, but not much more than that. You'll feel it more in your throat than your mouth, and it will linger for a bit. I personally like it, but not everyone will.

I found this in the store, boughT a small pkg. to see what Sweet Spicy was like as I love Skittles. They are fantastic !! Just a little heat with the sweet, you can't beat the price for the size either, plus I am not able to find them in any type of stores. I highly recommend trying this new flavor, I bet you'll be ordering more. Looove this flavor !!

Those accustomed to eating Skittles probably won't notice a difference here. If the vast majority are kids and Marshawn Lynch, there's a gimmick here to try something new. These are yummy, of course, but I'm not getting the taste.

I don't really like sweet candy, so this is perfect for me since it combines sweet & spicy (kind of like eating fruit with tajin). I'm pretty sure I would've become addicted if the bag was bigger. 5 stars!!

The flavors are actually damn good. The spice is there but not anything comparable even to a jalapeño slice.

They're a fun novelty treat to share with friends. As soon as someone sees this bag, they WILL stop and ask about them. So be ready to share!

I hate that I cannot find these in the stores. These have a kick to them that I love. I bought the big pack because the smaller individual packs were over priced. Unfortunately once I open them I can't stop eating them. If they were sold in the local stores I would probably wear myself out on them. These have the same skittles sweetness at first, might have a little too much kick in the after taste for some people.
