Fire!
by Dave B. (4 out of 5 stars)

I only got to use this once before I killed it. I used it to solder a couple of wires and it worked well for that. For the short time I used it I really liked it and would use it over an electric iron any day. I was hoping to use it for some shrink-wrapping of wires and some other projects. Compared to other options I could find, this checked all the boxes. When I find the need in the future, I'll purchase this again.

How I killed it: The soldering tip threads onto one of the other long tips. Dremel provides a small wrench to tighten the soldering tip down. I went to go remove it after I was done and didn't realize that the main part of the tip also turns easily. I used the small wrench to remove the soldering tip which also turned the main portion. Under the main portion is a small plastic tube that contains the element for the ignitor. I snapped this right in half. The torch could still be used if I lit it with a cigarette lighter or the like, but for what I paid I just decided not to mess with it. I'm just leaving this so others don't make the same mistake. I wouldn't call it a defect or a reason not to get it.

An Excellent Multi Purpose Torch
by Brad (5 out of 5 stars)

Because it is butane, the torch works great in any position, even upside down. This is one of the best torches I have owned. Lots of uses and the lighting mechanism is very consistent. Great Dremel quality.

Now for the modification: If you don't have kids/grandkids around, there is a way to get rid of the child safety mechanism. At the base of the plastic housing, remove 2 - T8 torx screws. Using a fine jeweler's screwdriver, remove the tiny screw near the blue pushbutton. Carefully split open the plastic section near the pushbutton and carefully remove the child safety lock. Replacing the 3 screws, you have a normal non-safety torch. All other functions work normally.

Confusing

I read up on the instructions on how to use the torch, specifically for soldering and heating shrink wrap for wires. I got the soldering tip to work just fine but I had trouble using the torch on heat shrink wrap. I also had issues getting the torch to light, no matter how many times I filled it with butane. I would suggest looking else where or use tools specific to the application you need, i.e., a soldering iron for soldering.

Absolute junk

Have had this for about a year and used as many times as I can count on one hand and it fell apart. I even keep it in a separate bag in my tool bag to protect it and this thing is pure crap

Fantastic Little Torch
by Rick 2416 (5 out of 5 stars)

I purchased this Dremel torch for gun smithing purposes (I suppose describing my skills at tinkering with firearms as "gun smithing" is overly generous. Like calling a bull in a china shop a store clerk). Anyway, I used this torch on multiple occasions to heat up barrels and receivers to loosen up factory applied loctite. Or whatever it is that FN uses on the SCAR 17 is beyond loctite.........it is some kind of liquid kryptonite as far as I can tell. Anyway, I found this little Dremel torch to be extremely versatile as it has multiple attachments to allow it to handle different functions. The build quality of this thing far surpasses anything I have ever seen available at Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Which is surprising since a torch is not something you would usually associate with the Dremel Brand. Regardless, this is a great little torch that performs flawlessly. It comes with a nice little storage case that holds the torch and all of the accessories together nicely. I highly recommend this little torch.

wow! this is nice. I have owned 2 blazer torches and could never get a nice low steady flame. this has a slide adjustment that keeps a very even flame at any level. It also has a great soldering tip.

I love this torch!

It's smaller and easier to control than a lot of the other micro torches I've used, seems much better quality, has more control over flame size and oxygen mix and great fuel capacity. Came in a really nice case, too! And I got it for about the same price as the crappy one that didn't even last me a year. Not sure if it matters, but I use it for silversmithing, so I'm not sure how it does for other purposes. Works great for me though!

I just received my products and'm real happy with the products, are what I expected versa dremel is high hits recommended, is the second time I buy it and give it an excessive and rough use, usu daily with this constant use me have lasted nearly two years. Dremel should make the ignition system lasts a bit more that is with some kind of replacement.

I highly recommend

Does not light, no power to this Torch
by Allison (1 out of 5 stars)
June 14, 2019

When I got my torch it had no butane so I filled it up. I had to use a lighter every time that I turned it on. Would not light itself. Then after 1 use of around 5 minutes it started to melt. I am mostly extremely disappointed in the lack of heat and power that this device has. It does not get hot at all! Waste of my time and money. Do not recommend. I hope that they will let me return the item.

Great small torch
by Jesse Nietzer,Top Contributor: Baby (5 out of 5 stars)

This little Dremel butane torch works great. It comes with a lot of handy supplies and pieces to make it very versatile. The flame is adjustable and is rather hot (good enough for brazing 1/8" x 1" aluminum). The igniter works quickly and it is easily refillable with butane from any chain home improvement store. I would highly recommend this for all your small torch needs.
