Heavy Jacket with Terrible Zippersby C. Matthews (3 out of 5 stars)

In theory this is a great product. It has a gajillion pockets for all of your things which will allow you to wear your carry-on through the airport. I wouldn't recommend carrying a ton of stuff in it otherwise.
The jacket itself is already quite heavy. I tried mine out with 3 kindles, a phone, and my wallet. About 50% of what you could fill the pockets with and man it was heavy. You'd be working up a sweat in anything other than a snowstorm.
The looks of the jacket are fine, could be tailored a little bit more. another reviewer said to buy big, but I actually found that my L was almost right on, if not a smidge TOO large. I thought it had a little too much room around the mid-section.
The zippers. Yes, everything you read about the zippers is true. My main zipper went a little wonky right out of the bag, but it wasn't a big deal to fix. However, the zipper to enclose the hood inside the collar immediately broke. Like the first time I tried to use it. The zippers around the pockets (where you put your hands) will scratch your hands up pretty good as well.
For me, I'd rather just put everything in a backpack. But I understand the draw of using your jacket as a sort of second carry-on.
So the jacket is/has:
heavy
decent looking
only good for very short term use as a pack mule
TERRIBLE zippers
I still gave it three stars because it is good at what it does. So long as you know you're getting a heavy jacket to add more heavy things to, and your zippers won't work you'll be quite please.
Great jacket

I wore the jacket on my last flight and I probably had about 15 pounds worth of gear stuffed in the various pockets. Couple of magazines in the back pocket, an iPad, iPhone, case with all my wires and battery packs, and lots of other crap. Would not want to walk around with that much weight on my shoulder all day but to get through an airport it was fine. Loved that I could carry all this stuff in a jacket and free up lots of space in my other bags.
Without all the junk stowed in it - it is actually a nice looking jacket. Something that I would wear around town on a fall/spring day. Liked the colour.
The only problem I had was with a zipper splitting on one of the pockets. Not that happy with the malfunction and I hope it is a one off problem. Zippers do not seem that sturdy so I will just have to try and treat them as carefully as possible.

I really wish this fit me. I got the smallest size and still was a bit too much, especially in the sleeves (5'6" 140lbs). They make a hoodie style jacket that is a bit smaller but the style and fewer pockets were not to my liking. The construction is well done with small tags and logos to assist in using the proper pocket for the intended purpose. I could fit an entire 13" Macbook Air in the largest pocket, and it didn't even look that strange on the outside! With a bit of organizing, one could theoretically ditch their carry-on for a short trip via air travel.
The price is a big on the high end, but the options for gadget jackets is still fairly slim at this point, but I hope will expand in the future. I would be sure you travel enough to warrant the investment, because while it works for a day to day jacket and is not too heavy to function as such, I can't see taking the trouble to load it out every day and needing all those items at my fingertips at every moment either.
A very clever and good product that does what I want.

Hi,
I travel all the time. A colleague of mine managed to lose his passport while coming out to join a vessel in the USA. He was promptly sent back to the UK by the USA authorities and told to re-apply for his USA entry visa. He was in enormous trouble from our employer.
I then promptly bought this jacket to try and ensure that this did not happen to me!
I ordered it a size bigger than my usual and it was roomy as hoped. It is a low key jacket that while being smart does not scream "wealth" and advertise that I'm worth mugging. I believe that this is the manufacturers intention.
The material seems to be quite durable and having had it for a year now it is still in good condition. Any spillage has been easily removed with a damp cloth.
The arrangement of pockets are quite incredible and even when loaded up with such things as Note 12.2 tablet, Note 4 Smartphone, Kindle, spare rechargers etc etc it still does not look overloaded from the outside and does not shout that I have these goods upon me. That most of the pockets can only be accessed by opening the main zip at the front is a good safety feature.
The zips were a little stiff but a light coating of Vaseline (lip balm) did the trick. Though perhaps they are deliberately meant to be stiff to thwart pick-pockets?
The only problem I did have was with the zip used to keep the hood in its storage . It is much too lightweight for its function. I presume it's meant to be small but it is just not up to the task. Luckily I am not one to use a hood anyway (reminds me too much of going off to school in the rain in Scotland!) and I just don't use it.
I have seen other reviews where there have been problems with things like zips and this does seem to be a weakness.
Overall I would heartily recommend this jacket to everyone like me who just wants to quietly get to where they are going without mishap.
Great Idea; Mostly Executed Well

Some of the key pockets are ackwardly sized. Otherwise, it's a sound jacket. Order 2 sizes up if you plan to truly use the pockets on this jacket. I tried to use this as my 'backpack' and it cannot hold everything and be remotely comfortable. It was a good attempt though.
Not actual pockets. Very pocket-like.

Arrived three days early. No complaints there. That has been standard for me from Amazon. The 25 pockets.......that's a stretch. They are counting a very small, very slim pen insert as a pocket. In fact, there are two of them. I don't consider those pockets. Other pocket-like enclosures are small for a few credit cards. Not in a wallet. Why would I put loose credit cards anywhere in my jacket? Be aware that some of these pockets are very, very small and are for single use items only.
I'm not sure about the breathable part. I'm going to wear it for the first time later this week. I'll update as needed.
Fits the chest and waist fine, with lots of room for storage

The first one in XL was way too small. The second one, though I ordered it in 2XL, is still tight in the arms and shoulders. Fits the chest and waist fine, with lots of room for storage, but if your shirt is much thicker than a t-shirt you will not find it easy to get the jacket on and off. It almost pinches the armpits. I wonder if they use the same diameter sleeves/shoulders on the XL and XXL? The tiny zipper on the hood/collar is very difficult to use, and unless you are EXTREMELY careful it will come apart and never zip or unzip again. It takes so long to remove and stow the hood that I just leave it stowed. I do not want to break the hard to zip zipper and leave the hood out or partially exposed. Definitely needs a bigger and sturdier zipper. I can't believe AyeGear sells the jacket with this awful defect. Probably will not buy from AyeGear again.
zipper stuck

We bought this jacket to travel with. Loved the pockets. But trying to zip the hood away, the zipper jammed on the first jacket and the second jacket the zipper went off track. We really wanted this jacket to work for us... You may like it if you want to keep the hood out.
Heavy weight, sized for a stocky build

Very $$ compared to other pocket jackets.. I'm 6'2, 34 waist, 45 chest., way too big around the waist and a bit short in the torso and arms for XL, needed every bit of the XL for the shoulders, room to add my wife around the middle.. Extremely bulky/ heavy fabric, takes up a lot of space to pack, fabric is robust.. Pockets and features well laid out. No loose threads on seams or around zippers. Other reviews note problems with the zippers, ditto here. Zipper around the hood and outside pocket works hard, and the fabric catches in zipper teeth. I returned it due to fit and that I needed something that would be a compact pack. Might be a good choice for a stocky build, and someone that wants a wearable suitcase instead of a packable option. 1 star down for price compared to 2 other brands.
