Cigar Lighter Works Well under Normal Conditions
by SeanCLucas (3 out of 5 stars)

This is a cigar lighter that works well under normal conditions. After manually lifting the top cap, the quad-flame design provides a large surface area to toast and light your cigars. In my experience, the lighter often takes a couple pulls of the trigger to get it started, certainly if I haven't used it in a few minutes. Also, each of the four burners on my lighter has slightly different sized flames, but nothing I'm concerned about yet. I have not tried the lighter in high wind conditions. However, I note that I can blow out the flame with relatively little force and mere waving the lighter around (yes, as a test) will knock it out. I've definitely encountered butane lighters that stand up to these tests. That being said, the flames are white hot, but even after extended use the outside of the case barely warms up (due to the double barrel construction, I assume).

Moving on, the bottom of the lighter contains a flip out cigar punch as well as the refueling mechanism. The punch is a nice addition for those who smoke rounded cigars with at least a 40 gauge. As many others have noted, you'll need to manually clear the punch after each use. But it's sharp and is more than adequate in a pinch. Due to it's a flip-out design, there is only one punch depth, which appears to cut about 5mm deep. At least for me, the butane doesn't refill like I'd expect it to. A good amount of fuel escapes under all conditions while filling.

Otherwise, good design, sturdy construction. Hopefully it can stand up to a bit of wind...

Quit working within 3 days of use

Purchased this and another lighter for my Dad. He liked this one best - while it worked. He's had it less than a week and has been using it for about 3 days. It stopped working. If you purchase it make sure you have butane refills that have different sized tips because this one takes a smaller one that normal - otherwise you leak and waste fuel when trying to fill it. The flame was adjustable while it worked. VERY disappointed and will be sending this back - NO I do not want a replacement.

Not a good design

The only good thing about this lighter is that it is cheap... which is probably why there are issues with it. One of the reasons I purchased this lighter was for the cigar punch on the bottom. Well the punch is almost impossible to open. The refill valve is so far recessed in the body that the nozzle from the butane can barely reaches it. As a result if the nozzle is not perfectly seated you are sprayed with butane when trying to fill the lighter. The bottom of the lighter is not flat so the lighter won't stand up. It also gets extremely hot when lighting a cigar. I would not recommend purchasing this lighter.

Great flame! It is not the easiest to fill ...

Great flame! It is not the easiest to fill as the port is recessed in the bottom. I bought some butane which has a little shorter nozzle and it takes a little doing in order for it to reach the fill port on the lighter. Prompt shipping! Appears this is well made

Great lighter!! User might need to do some tweaking...

Flame decreased over time until it wouldn't light anymore. I unscrewed the bottom and removed the limiter for setting the flame height. I works great again, and I can set a super tall flame for reaching deep into candle jars. Lights cigars very evenly with its wide flame

Decent lighter, but you get what you pay for.

Works ok. Solid build quality. Uses a lot of fuel fast if using it outside as high flame setting required with any significant wind. Don't like that it's a manual flip top.

Bad igniter. Can hear fuel coming out but it won't spark after 2 dozen uses.

Worked great after I filled it the first time. Then refilled when pressure got low (using Zippo butane) and it never worked again. I don't recommend.
