Not supported on Apple devices
by Kevin Heerdegen (4 out of 5 stars)

iHealth HS4 Lite purported to be iOS compatible but it is not. Will not connect by Bluetooth to my iPhone 7 or an older iPad - message from Apple says it is not supported. I ordered the HS4 because my HS3 scale no longer connects by Bluetooth. Apparently Appl no longer supports these devices. Best to avoid!

Update: I figured out how to pair the HS4 via Bluetooth to my iPone 7 this morning, and also received this response from iHealth this evening:
"Thank you for contacting iHealth Labs!

Ah, but it is.. The HS4 is fully supported by all of the current iOS devices. The HS4 uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). BLE devices do not pair the traditional way. They are called and pair through the app. If you try to pair using the iOS Bluetooth manager, your will get a message that says the device is not supported.
1. Download the iHealth MyVitals app.
2. Create your account
3. Go to Setup My Devices > Select a New Device > Scales > Lite (HS4/HS4s) and follow the steps from there.

BLE only connects when the app is active. as soon as you close or minimize the app, you will see the BT indicator on the scale go off.

Let me know if you continue to have problems.."

Now I am cautiously optimistic the scale will function correctly and have revised my rating accordingly!

You can't cheat with this scale, the platform is quite big, so is not like you can step on the edge and getting a lighter reading. It is very accurate scale, it does exactly what it said it does, and it also very easy to setup. If you are fanatic with your weight like I am, get one.

I love this scale

I love this scale. It even has a sticker on it that says "youre more than just a number, you're beautiful" I kept it on there. It works seamlessly with my iPhone.

No Carpet or Rug!

It's thin and flexible so when the manufacturer says "use on hard surface", believe it. Other than that observation I have nothing but praise for the scale. Easy to pair, easy to use and my cardiologist likes being able to view the history.

I don't know that its any better than some cheaper blue tooth scales. I can't complain about the cost.

Really Much Nicer Than I Expected - But Expect to Restart It Every Other Day
by A (4 out of 5 stars)

First, I was offered one of these to test, but I went ahead and bought one instead.

FAQ:
1. Do You Need an Apple Device to use this?

NO - there is an iHealth Android app (actually two of them - android devices are all different from each other, so use the one that works best for your device)
2. Does it come set to kilograms?

NO - mine didn't, but I bought it myself new from Amazon.
3. How's battery life?

It's okay. The Bluetooth is on for just a second or two at a time (when you weigh yourself with the phone on next to you). I'm not a fan of AAA in bluetooth devices, but if you are concerned you can mitigate with rechargeables.
4. Is pairing hard?

Not if you read the instructions. It's actually easier than it should be, which is what makes it hard.
5. Do you need the phone to weigh yourself?

NO - my husband just steps on the scale and reads his weight in pounds. UPDATE - sometimes, you have to pull the batteries to get it to do this. Because this is a pain, I deducted one star.

I bought this because, while my husband is not too heavy for most scales, he is big and tall with big feet. For him, getting on most bathroom scales is like trying to dance on the head of a pin. And forget trying to see the numbers.

I thought it might be helpful for him to read the verdict on his smartphone, but he can see past his feet on this one.

The scale is accurate - or, at least, it agrees exactly with my rheumatologist's scale and the scale in the hospital infusion room. Unlike either of my other scales, the weight reading doesn't change if you move the scale an inch one way or another, even though my floors are not perfectly level. This is a heavy duty well built scale for a consumer model.

The app seems okay - sometimes I wonder about all my information being in the cloud - especially personal biometrics, but it's there anyway. I have lupus. My doctors are forever checking stuff and typing it into the ether. And, hey, my BMI is AOK.

Works well. It took a couple of tries to connect with my phone the first time. But I did get it connected. And if someone else in the household uses the scale it does not download the information to my phone when I connect to the scale. So that means the family can use the scale but It only transmits to the phone when you are on the scale. And does not send prior data.

Husband had 30 lbs to loose. He likes how easy the scale hooks up to the app.

He likes the graphs the App shows, when reviewing.

Scale Bluetooth to IPad app quickly.

Scale read very close to the doctor scales.

I like how the app keeps track.

Always showing errors

Love the scale but it constantly goes on and off by itself and burns the batteries out so quick. Always showing error codes also. If it stayed working the way it should I would love it. Not sure what's wrong.
