I bought the first generation board from boosted brand new. I only rode it around my neighborhood a total of 45 mile. Over the winter it sat and in spring it had a flashing red light and wouldn't charge. After troubleshooting with a tech they said to send it in. Shipping was about $70 and once received they said my battery was bad and out of warranty. Cost would be $425 to get it fixed. So I got a $1500 board and had to spend $500 after traveling 45 miles. Not cool.
The board is fun though.
Just do it.

I don't understand why the one person even rated this 4 stars. If you have a little extra cash to blow and are seriously considering a Boosted Board just make it easy on yourself and get one. I'm an avid board sports person and this thing is just incredible. My commute to work in small town Wisconsin is about 1.5 miles and I get there almost faster now (definitely more enjoyable) and what a way to start your day as well as end it with a night cruise. Great product that looks just as awesome as it performs.

Do you know that sensation you have as a kid when you get a new bike, that you want to ride the whole day, you don't even want to sleep so you can ride more? This thing delivers the same sensation for a 30ish year old.
It's beautifully designed and made to last - I live in Brazil so it has been taking some beating from our pavement - and provides a an indescribable sensation. Very happy to have one, and anxious to see technology development for the next versions.

Wow, I have had a Yuneec Ego board since it came out, and that was after some extensive research and "test driving" several models including Fiik and Munkyboards. The Yuneec at the time had, and until now did have the best build, felt solid, wide base, carves well when dialed in. Now I'm a slightly heavier rider at about 185lbs. Combine that with my experience riding the e-boards, I ordered the Boosted Dual 2000W, I was like, "what!!!!2000w, mine only has 450w now. I contemplated, checked manufacture site, read 10k reviews. Mind you I'm not rich by means but I live in San Diego, and to carve the boardwalks at sunset is worth any price in the world. So after a month of hovering over the buy now button, I finally clicked it. I'm 36, turned instantly 10 waiting for Christmas morning cause I knew I was getting a new Redline bike. I laugh because this board cost more then my first car did!!!! It came a day early, Christmas never did that, and as soon as it was fully charged I was out the door, thinking I'm pretty good on these I bumped it up to pro, wheeled up the accelerator and I was off, literally about 10 feet in the air. This thing is a guided missile, once you learn its telemetry this and my "follow me quadcopters" are my proudest purchases, so take it from me as someone who always wants the best but usually listen to the logical side and will always buy a model near the top. You will not be satisfied with any other board if you ever ride this one, I kitesurf, snowboard, landboard, longboard and surf and trust me, now there is no "off-season." I'm going to go ride it now. My one and only sincere pierce of advise is don't EVER ride this skate without a helmet, even if its just down to check the mail. Yee-Haaw!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing product. Love it more than my Tesla. I've been riding it almost every day for two months with almost zero problems. The only things that have gone wrong: belts are slipping in expert mode when I brake and the rubber cover where the charger inserts won't stay in place. Other than this, it's perfect.
I rode one for 2 minutes and fell in love.

My brother bought a boosted board a month or two ago. I wasn't interested in it because of the price, no way I was willing to drop that much money for a longboard. When I went out for a visit I rode it for 2 minutes on the streets of San Francisco, I was immediately sold and didn't care about the price anymore. I spent the next week or two doing some additional research on which model to buy, customer support, just overall the quality of the company as a whole.
I settled on the dual+ :). I found that their customer support was above and beyond what you would expect, and I even discovered that they have a subreddit on reddit.com where a company representative is actively involved in the boosted community. I love my board and ride it nearly every day. The feeling of hauling ass uphill is just awesome. The stopping power is un imaginable for a motorized long board. You really can just feel it, it's not the kind of stopping power that will throw you off the board, but if you needed to stop quickly you would just feel the control and adapt accordingly. It charges in 1 hour to full capacity and you can get up to 7 miles of shredding power. Be ready for the looks of awe and amazement for everyone that you pass by, people are blown away when they see you going 15-20mph uphill on what looks to be a regular longboard.

Got this for my husband for Christmas-- he said it is the best board/toy he's ever owned! Loves the speed, and feels ever safer than a regular skateboard b/c of the power of the remote control. VERY happy with this product!

I rarely do reviews on Amazon, but i have to do it for this one because the boosted board is a game changer. I've had this longboard for about a month with many cycles of charge already. This electric skateboard is of high quality and highly reliable. I have longboard skateboard as a hobby for quite some time. I have put the Dual+ thru abuse from hard carving, sliding, going thru rough pavements, going up and down crazy steep hills and i can say that the Dual+ is just as durable as any other longboard that i have put to abuse.
The reason i call it a game changer though is the fact that I feel that this is the first electric skateboard that packs in the punch/torque and still is relatively light weight and portable. Yes, the board is not the lightest; yes, the range is not the longest; but with the amount of torque that this thing can do in this small of a package is amazing. It is portable, i bring this board with me every where. It is my commute of choice within its range. I use it to commute from office building to office building. I use it to goto coffee shops or when i need to do small grocery shopping.
What amazes me the most is that the Dual+ is capable of handling hills that are very steep here in SoCal. I've gone up hills that only able to climb in Pro mode. I've gone down the very same steep hill and able to brake with good traction, coming down very smoothly. For any mild to medium hills it goes up with ease and can still maintain good speed. Amazing.
Let me comment about weight and range for a bit, since i believe this is the spec that could use improvement for future revision (which won't be out for a while.. in mid to late 2016 as the earliest, based on the current competitor market). Yes, the Dual+ is slightly heavy at 15lbs and range is considered short for some at 6 miles average. But in defense, this is a 2WD board... 2 powerful motors driving 2 wheels. I truly believe that 2WD trumps 1WD for traction and balance. 2WD is great for longboard enthusiast, but maybe not so important for regular commuters / cruising on flats. 2WD might eat up more power but it's well worth it. Next is range.. yes, i wish the Dual+ has more range but for the majority of the times it is sufficient enough for me. Keep in mind that the battery size for the board is 99 Wh. If you think about it, this is amazing! Other competitors are getting more range due to a bigger battery and only single motor 1WD. 99 Wh is an important size because airlines and air shipping won't allow anything bigger than 100Wh. This is why some competitor is having hard time shipping in time and getting certified for international shipping.
So in conclusion, Boosted prioritized torque/power to be able to deliver an electric skateboard that can conquer hilly terrains with ease while still maintaining good range and portability. The battery charge time is also pretty short, 1 Hr max. The new charger does not make any noises, sounds just like any regular laptop charger. The board is very reliable with great customer service for the low percentage customers who have had issues (can check their forums, Boosted is very attentive to messages and emails).
The world of (production) electric skateboarding is just getting started, get one already!
