Really great addition to my home automation systemsby CJM (A42) (5 out of 5 stars)

Really great addition to my home automation systems, and general car maintenance.
Downsides:
1. Monthly service charge after first year.
2. No Bluetooth support, only dependent on the AT&T transceiver built into unit.
Be advised, does NOT work with Hybrid vehicles like Toyota Prius...

It's a great concept, but there's nothing in the description that I could find that says it won't work with Hybrids. I plugged it in and waited forever for a connection, then I plugged it into my wife's Impala to see if it would work there, and it did. Unfortunately, the apps were wildly inaccurate as to GPS location, which probably depends on your 3G coverage, and there wasn't even a fuel level indicator. The only thing I could get out of my Amazon Echo was, "your car is parked" or "your car is driving." I finally went to the website where they have a compatibility checker, and sure enough, the Prius is not supported. It may work fine depending on your vehicle and 3G coverage, however I would suggest that you go to their website first to see if your vehicle is compatible before purchasing. I purchased this specifically for my Prius to monitor faults, so I'm returning it.
Happy with Android Smartphones, Easy to use, Track vehicle and provide diagnostic info
by linghk (4 out of 5 stars)

Pros:
- 1 device for both vehicle tracking and diagnostic info, less cumbersome
- very competitive price, more affordable than purchasing 1 tracking device and 1 ODB device
- include 1 yr 3G network service, 2nd yr projected to be around US$4.99/month
- easy to use
- really easy to install on OBD-II Port, line up and plug it in, if it starts flashing, it's good
- easy to install apps on Android smartphone.
- Mojio Gauge for ODB diagnostic info and call info
> it knows the VIN # immediately, brand & model
> it shows me related recalls for that model of vehicle with information (e.g. only affect manual-shift or auto-shift)
> it shows current location and path on map
- Mojio Cloak for vehicle tracking (this is so good)
> it notifies you whenever the car is started and moving whether you're in the car or not
> it takes about 10 seconds after the car is started for me to receive the notification
> location tracking seems quite good, it can really track approx where I park in a big parking lot, or in front of my friend's house address
- online dashboard for more information, e.g. last 1 day, 10 days or 30 days.
- can be installed same apps on multiple devices (just sign-in with same account)
- can be used for multiple vehicle, if you choose to put it on another vehicle, simply plug it the device and let it detects the vehicle details and confirm. (it's especially good in testing to ensure whether you want to purchase another one for individually tracking all your cars, I may purchase another one ;)
- there are other Android apps being developed by other providers, some can even send you emails for information
- doesn't seem to drain battery life
- support is friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. No immediate support via phone but if you leave a support ticket on their support website or send in an email, they will reply within 24 hours. The support rep even checked up some related info of my car record before replying, so didn't waste both of our time, the reply also included possible reasons and solutions. Once the communication started, the support almost replied to my emails immediately to answer any related questions i had.
Cons:
- no hotline support, no immediately chat support
- no user knowledge forum (except installation related FAQ available)
- Reception of 3G might be lost occasionally if cell signal provider is having issue (that was what happened, 3 hours lost of updates from the device possibly due to Cell signal issues)
- weak/no signal if used in a basement garage or storm shelter garage
Updated review: Gauge app now available.
by MB (4 out of 5 stars)

**Updated review: As mentioned in the comment below the gauge 2.0 app is now available in the app store. This has given me a better idea of what the product can offer and I have changed my review to 4 stars. Overall I'm pleased with the device. That said, I do wish more data was available for download into the appropriate apps. Hopefully more apps and features will be available as time goes on.
This device has great potential but so far I'm a bit disappointed. At the time of this review the Mojio Gauge app does not seem to exist anywhere in the iOS app store. Their website shows this app as being available for both iOS and Android but this does not seem to be the case. The Cloak and Trek app are available and seem to be decent (looking at update history its clear they are not frequently updated however). Its hard to know exactly what data I'm missing out on without the gauge app. The lack of the Gauge app is misleading and a bad first impression for me.
I was hoping for extensive data and information but so far this device really seems to shine as a GPS tracker and that is about it. The only data I'm really finding is gas quantity, mileage, and battery status. Honestly I was expecting quite a bit more information. I bought two of these and will likely be returning one of them. I'll keep the other for the car I keep parked on the street in case it is stolen as the GPS info could be helpful.
I'll update this if/when the gauge app is released and I have additional experience. First impression however is disappointing.
No fuel level for pre-2004 vehicles, and stopped working after switching cars
by Medicine_man (2 out of 5 stars)

I just received the unit and can't comment too much this early, but I wanted others to know that I learned from customer service if your car is pre-2004 you likely will not be able to see fuel level. This was disappointing to learn, and I wish they made that clear. It is not mentioned anywhere I can find.
Update* 3-29-16
Ended up returning the unit. After my initial review, where I stated it wouldn't retrieve fuel data from my 2002 Toyota Highlander, I decided to switch it to my wife's 2007 Volvo S40. The unit gathered data long enough to show "engine on" and "engine off", then it stopped working indefinitely.
I will say customer service was well above average, but despite that the product was defective. If it had worked at all I would have left my original review at 3, maybe 4 stars tops; but the fact they know it usually won't read fuel levels in pre-2004 vehicles and don't advertise that fact wrong.
This is by far is the best solution for the money for remote monitoring a teen ...
by MICHAEL WILSON (5 out of 5 stars)

I installed this on my teenage son's car. I was a little skeptic at first due to some of the reviews claiming that the apps were buggy. I have had no issues with the apps, the device works flawlessly every time. I have Version 2/Platform 9.1 of the Mojio Trek app, probably a later version than what other reviewer have. This is by far is the best solution for the money for remote monitoring a teen driver. The fact that it has it's own At&t 3G connection and GPS and does not rely on a Bluetooth connection to a phone makes this product far superior than other competitors such as Automatic or other OBD II port car monitors. The web app from Mojio gives even more detailed information in one place, including the Max RPMs, Speed and even G Forces. This is a must for monitoring any driver's habits. Works as advertised and the price point is great at $149, including the 3G service for 1 year.
Handy little device for the frequent traveler

UPDATE: I can no longer recommend this product, any product from Mojio, or rebranded products available from T-Mobile or others. I was a fan, however, I started noticing that a single device of mine quit working. I contacted support April 29th. I contacted them again May 15th. It wasn't until May 21st that I finally received a response. It staid "Thank you for your email. We appreciate your feedback and would like to take the opportunity to thank you for contributing to the continous improvement of our products and services."
I replied again asking when I'd receive an actual response. July 3rd, I received this response:
--
Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us.
First of all, we'd like to apologize for the issues you've been experiencing with our apps and the delay in our response. We've been going through significant strategic changes at the company and it's caused the original Mojio experience to go stale for many of our early customers. Our product and engineering teams are working tirelessly to build the next generation of connected car experiences that will replace our original Mojio apps: Gauge, Cloak and Trek.
At this point of time, there isn't much Mojio support can do to assist you. Hence I am going ahead and closing this ticket. Please wait to hear from Mojio in the coming months.
--
Basically, they told me they didn't care. I immediately replied in disgust and received no response. August 11th I sent another email telling them I could no longer recommend their products and would be going to their competitor. The response I received (the same day, surprisingly) was "Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us. Thanks from everyone at Mojio! We promise to provide you with more details about Mojio later in 2017. We can't share specifics at this time but we think it will be worth the wait."
Essentially, they don't care about their existing customers. I wanted to like the device, but their complete lack of support makes it impossible. If you can't support your existing customers then you have no business expanding. You need to fix your problems before you expand.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I really like this device so far. I've had for almost two months. The only real downside I see is how often it checks in. When I look at the maps it often shows me driving through fields. Obviously it just doesn't refresh its location often enough while moving.
I travel for work, so I like using the Cloak app to notify me if my car starts or moves while I'm out of town. Last week it notified me that I might have a low battery when I got back to it. I was a bit more mentally prepared than if I didn't have that warning. I receive similar notifications for gas level (including if someone has siphoned gas while it sits in the parking lot for the week).
I've got mine tied in with IFTTT to create logs of when and where I go and to note when it is plugged in. The timing can be a little off, but I think that is more of an IFTTT issue. It also ties in with my Amazon Echo, but I don't get much use out of that relationship. I'd love to see integration with SmartThings so I could use it as a presence sensor and/or an open/close sensor so I know if the car is running and can run SmartApps based on that.
Good idea, but it's basically early beta

On the plus side, the service is free the 1st year and the unit is packaged very nicely and seems to be made with quality.
The software however, is not even half baked. The software will tell you if your fuel is low, your check engine light is on or if your battery is low. I don't know about you, but that's not much for diagnostics. The software will tell you where your vehicle is at - IF the service is online, which at the time that I'm writing this, is not.
The web site has a data download, but you can only download VERY basic info. Such as trip length, time and mileage. Can't download fuel used, or other data collected. It supports multiple vehicles, but you can't delete vehicles, application is incredibly clumsy. To do something simple like switching the vehicle viewed requires going to setup and modifying the viewed vehicle.
While there is an Iphone app. It hasn't been updated months, and it even more basic the the basic half baked website.
I suspect that Mojio is waiting for 3rd party developers to write their software. Problem is, none exist right now.
It's a good thing the service is free the first year, otherwise I could be canceling and sending my units back.
I think this will be a great device/service...eventually. But it's a long way away.
UPDATE
Looks like mojio updated the app in the last few days. Unfortunately it's a very minor update on a couple usability items.
Also I've noticed some bugs:
1) If you use more than 32 gallons of fuel in a day, the counter rolls over back to zero. Not good for a long trip in a fuel inefficient vehicle (i.e. trucks, towing etc)
2) It has a fixed speed alarm of 70 miles per hour. If you live in a state where the speed limited is 70, prepare to your notification logs filled with warnings about "bad driving". No you cannot set what you feel is a proper speed alarm.
Overall, the more I use the product, I really really want to love it. But I can't. It's more of a vehicle data "kit". If you have the time and skills to write your own applications to gather the data, it's probably great. If intend to use the software that is provided for you, this is not the product for you.
Excellent Hardware, but software Link works great with Amazon Echo!!!

Excellent hardware, but the Mojio Trek software link to the Amazon echo doesn't work as advertised. Currently you cannot link using an iPhone (blank page). Also once you establish the Amazon echo skills link on a droid device there's no vehicle tracking information available.
UPDATE: The Mojiio technical support team is excellent. After submitting an email to their technical support team I received a prompt response within two days. Seven days later they fixed all the bugs I reported.. I am happy to say the Mojiio works great with the Amazon echo now.
Half baked. Basic IFTTT location context missing.

It does monitor the trips information and not having a service fee for the first year is good, but like other reviewers have posted the applications and support is lacking, The expectation is that third parties will build the apps, and not many have signed up for this. The majority seem to be fleet management apps, and maybe that's where the company is focusing its efforts.
For e.g. The IFTTT integration has no way to use location as part of the context (Automatic does this). So you cannot use Mojio as part of a smart home system to detect if your car has arrived or is leaving the house. I would like to have the garage door open when I get home. Requesting this basic feature from the company elicited this response:
"Thanks for writing in to us with this feature request. We see how useful this would be and we would really like to start integrating more IFTTT capabilities into our product, but unfortunately right now this is not a feature we are able to offer. Our apologies that we can't make this happen right away for you, but hopefully in the future we'll have this available."
The API seems comprehensive so maybe I will look at building the integration with SmartThings myself, but it's still annoying.
Doesn't Work-Can Damage Vehicle

What a P.O.S. First, it caused my Ford truck to shut off and I had to resent the codes. Luckily it restarted. Then, I tried it in my Honda van and it would not connect to my phone. Apps and set up not intuitive and customer support is woeful. Sending back unit for full refund.
