Product Description

Blown Glass Christmas Ornaments. A Saturn that actually LOOKS like Saturn, with Cassini data used to etch the rings! A Sun with sunspots! Earth and Mars with clouds and polar caps, Jupiter with a red spot, and I include Pluto, just because! Very cool!! And with a loop on the top to hang on your tree. I like to hang these in the window during non-Christmas months. The sunlight coming through them is amazing! I hand blow these ornaments myself. Ornament size is about 2" for the small ones, up to 4 inches, and Saturn has the rings about 4.5". With the rings, the ornament is heavier than my others and may be too heavy for little trees. All of the ornaments are thicker than cheap breakable ones, and have been crash tested by my cats to be able to withstand normal handling and last a lifetime as heirloom pieces.

A marvelous and unique ornament set

I purchased this set as part of a GoFundMe campaign run by Spherical Magic. I received my set just 4 days ago and I am very happy. These are hand blown glass ornaments and really are quite lovely. The Saturn is fabulous. The Pluto even has a vaguely heart-shaped lighter spot on it. The set includes a sun ornament which is not pictured... kinda like a bonus ornament. They are a quite a bit beefier than your standard glass ornament, but not too heavy. As these are hand blown, each one is unique, and no two sets will look exactly alike... I've attached a photo of what my set looks like in orbit on my dining room chandelier. These are really cool.

A wonderful one of a kind set!

I've had the the pleasure of knowing and working with the great folks at Spherical Magic for many years. I've had the rare opportunity to visit their facility and I've personally witnessed how these amazing ornaments are made. Each ornament is created individually by hand with extreme attention to detail and an unsurpassed level of craftsmanship. You can't tell from the photos just how cool these ornaments really are! Their surface textures are beautiful and their appearance under different lighting conditions is stunning. You get what you pay for, and you would be very hard pressed to find a more unique or higher quality hand-crafted product. I highly recommend this set!

Not as pictured

I had high hopes for this set, especially considering the price. The pictures online looked great, but a couple of the ornaments I received today don't come close. The earth does not look like earth, and well Jupiter looks awful. It does not have the distinctive red dot, and it actually has a dimple where the red dot should be, which looks like a defect to me. It should be noted that these do not come with a storage box.

Worth every penny!

I have ordered several items from Joy Day, and have received my most recent delivery a few days ago. It's AMAZING! This one is not for me, but for a Christmas gift, but I may order another one for myself as well. These are all one-of-a-kind artisanal grade items, and since they are all individually hand-blown, each is unique. The 'detail' is not as precise as the el-cheapo versions, which are effectively just a printed plastic wrapper around a light weight (and fragile) plain glass ball, but the overall effect is wonderful. I paid a trifle extra for a small companion moon for my Earth globe, just for fun.

This Is MY Solar System - Get One For Yourself!

Our set arrived and we are thrilled! As we unwrapped each carefully packaged ornament, we had a hard time deciding which one was our favorite (I finally decided on Venus... for now). Every piece is a unique work of art, and since each planet is individually made and not mass-produced, we know that nobody else will have a set exactly like ours. Only problem is that they are far too beautiful to just bring out once a year; we are considering options to have them on display year-round -- not really a problem!

The best ornament set ever!!

I ordered this set just this past spring. I have always loved everything glass, and these blown glass beauties did not disappoint. I can't wait to hang them on our Christmas tree this year. Saturn is extraordinary, of course, and Jupiter with its red spot. The Sun is maybe my favorite. Or Earth, that one's great, too. My advise? Order this beautiful set immediately! If you love our planets, and appreciate glass art, get these.

Although I do not have the solar system, I do have a BEAUTIFUL blown ornament from this artist. Her eye for detail with a touch of whimsy make for incredible, one of a kind art. You can not go wrong with any of her pieces. They will become heirlooms for generations!
