Minimalistic, Heavy Duty, Protection

I drop my iPhone at least once a day, climbing, dunking it in water, scrambling over stuff running, you name it. I'm natoriously hard on my stuff but because I don't carry a purse I refuse to carry a otter box. Just yesterday I was climbing about 30 feet up and had to squeeze into a crack mashing the phone in my back pocket. No problem! I also accidentally kicked kicked my phone into some stairs because I dropped it while turning around. No damage!

Pros
-It's really pretty, other cases wrap the iPhone is lots of ugly plastic layers which make the Phone hard use one handed and harder to carry. This is minimalistic.
-It's fine on rough terrain. I noticed all of the drop tests for this case were in the city on flat ground. That worried me. Especially since the screen protector doesn't quit meet the bumper on the screen. I've already accidentally dropped my phone twice on the trail. Not a scratch.

The bumper keeps the phone from sliding around on flat surfaces.

I really like the texture of the screen protector. I can't compare this to other screen protectors but I can say my screen has stopped accumulating all those annoying dings on the glass. It even covers them up!

See my stories above for reference to its impact protection. Seriously! I always promise myself I'll be careful then bang eeeep! My Phone! Is it broken?!

Cons

It's freaking hard to get on. Don't listen to those people who say it's a breeze. The screen protectors take FOREVER to align correctly and if you take the screen protectors off to realign them a bunch little hairs and stuff gets caught under the screen protectors. You can get those off with glasses cleaner spray, but it's a pain.

The bumper feels bowed out on both sides. It isn't but it feels it. They probably had to make in a little loose considering how hard it is to get the bumper on and off but it is annoying to feel the the phone shift (ever so slightly) around and it makes me want to pick at the sides.

This isn't a problem for me, but if you have a large or medium headphone jack than you probably won't like the case becomes they don't fit through the case opening. For reference I have a photo of my sister's senheizer 202 headphones ( which don't fit) and my s3 kilpshe earbuds (which do) .

Dust. It collects around the edges oft he screen protector which drives me nuts. Also, becouse the screen protector has trouble lying flush around the antenna line thingies on the back of the phone, dust gets in around those edges.

I think given a good enough impact, the edges of the four corners of this bumper would crack no longer giving good protection. It's 20 dollars but it's something to be aware of.

I don't know if this is an issue, but it doesn't FEEL like it's enough protection. So if the case if for emotional security of not breaking your phone look elsewhere.

I love how minimalistic AND protective the case is. It looks nice. I noticed a lot of the reviews who said it was ok for the outdoors were payed or recieved the product free. I haven't been. and I still think it's a really good case.

Great protection, but only for a little while

Quick Rating:

Protection: 4/5 (compared to similar products)

Durability 2/5

Value: 2/5

Pros: Good protection, low profile, lightweight, case feels good in your hand (tacky not slick), nice buttons

Cons: Overpriced, not very durable, no real need for the screen/back protectors, cutout for the lightning port could be wider

I really wanted to give this product a better review, but I just ordered a replacement case from another brand after 1 year using the CrashGuard case. The biggest issue is that I feel the case and screen/back protectors are overpriced for what you get and not terribly durable. The case has definitely saved my phone from some normal waist-height drops onto concrete (without using the screen protector), so the biggest plus is that the case by itself offers very good protection.

The CrashGuard case is not very durable, which is why I am not buying another one. The soft rubber bezel began to show some noticeable wear after only about 6 to 7 months of normal use, especially around the corners, which really makes the case look cheap and unappealing. If you get one little minor scratch or scrape anywhere on the soft rubber, the case will just start to disintegrate itself slowly from that point. I have had the case for a year and I just noticed a couple serious structural cracks on the hard plastic parts of the case, which I am unsure how they got there.

I took the RhinoShield screen protector off my phone pretty quickly because I didn't like the overly-tacky feel of it and it seemed to get dirty fast and stay dirty. I keep my phone in my pocket with other things such as pens and small objects (not keys or any sharp metal objects) and after one year I only have a few tiny grazing scratches across the screen that you can only see when the display is off and you get direct glare from a light source. The newer iPhones simply do not need screen protection if you have a decent case against drops and you are somewhat careful where you put your phone. I just don't see what makes 1 RhinoShield worth $25 while you can get a pack of other glass screen guards like 3 for $10.

Oh yeah, the back protector feels like the gross plastic that cheap people keep on their furniture, and it isn't really necessary plus it doesn't fit flush with the back, anyways. I immediately removed it after a day or two.

Got this case due to all of the positive reviews and test results on YouTube. Haven't dropped my phone yet but I'm sure this case would handle it fine. The shield was a cinch to put on...both front and back and the bumper guard fit snugly. It looks beautiful on my iPhone 6 plus. Very sleek looking and doesn't add any bulk really. I will write an update if I ever drop my phone. I'm giving only 4 stars because the corners of the shield itself tend to peel when you're cruising on an altitude of about 39,000 feet above sea level in a plane. Assuming it's just cabin pressure since all goes back to normal when you land.

Screen Protector Is Good, But Not The Case!
by Sergio Guzmán Jr. (1 out of 5 stars)

For $40 you expect for the case to last longer then a month! On the first of using the case and the screen protector, the upper left corner of the case had a crack that runs through the entire gray section! After a couple of months rolls by i notice that there is yet another one and ANOTHER ONE (all are included in the photos). As for the screen protector, it works just as advertise but is pretty pricey. I normally review my tech products MONTHS after the day I get them so that I can really use it everyday. It sucks because other reviews rave about this product but sadly a majority of these reviewers review their products the day of them getting there product :( I hope that this review helps anyone buying this bumper case.

I feel that the bumper is good but the shield portion I'm not as convinced
by Amazon Customer (3 out of 5 stars)

I feel that the bumper is good but the shield portion I'm not as convinced. The shield on the back makes my 6+ slick when holding it and the front shield never sealed very well in the corners. I've dropped my phone a couple of times, not from 24 feet like their video, and had no issues. Overall so far the crash guard I would give 5 stars but the shield made me drop it down to 3 stars.

Havn't had the Balls to test it but so far so good.

I wish I could give 5 stars but the company promised it on one date and apparently it was back ordered and they never notified me until I complained. The Bumper is low profile but the cut outs are a little cumbersome for anything except out of the box head phones and charger. Havn't had the Balls to test it but so far so good.

Great product. Very protective

Great product. Very protective. Only negative is the tiny hole around the front camera is hard to clean and I ruined mine trying to peel it up and clean under it. My mistake, but it happens.
