I bought sections of this to replace a cushion and a pillow. I also got a backrest to make a single chair out of this instead of a sofa (ie the backrest for the single chair is different from the backrest to make the sofa).

Each section is really sturdy and heavy. Don't toss sections around at people it'll knock them over lol. The corners DO HURT as the vinyl is really thick and heavy. It's almost like what they called in the 60's "inflatable leather," which actually was like double thick laminated vinyl which was embossed to look and feel like leather.

The entire sofa is SO HEAVY you need two people to move it around lest you drag it which is not advisable. To that end, I'd recommend putting down a rayon or outdoor water absorbent carpet (not a tarp as it'll be slippery) for use around a pool. For pool use, just be sure the straps are hosed off well and stored covered if left in the sun. The straps will deteriorate and disintegrate. If you can, buy replacements of the straps as a preventive and preemptive move. The sofa sits on the straps so each time you sit, stand, or shift, and the sofa is put directly on a hard deck or concrete, it'll scratch those straps to heck. Also you may put scratches on your deck which is why you should put one of those water resistant carpets just as padding. And mold won't form in the carpet.

I've fallen asleep on the sofa or converted to a chair or pool float, and if you have a sheet or throw on it so your skin doesn't stick, it's not half bad and comfortable.

We have a big screen tv at the pool and we love taking it out there.

We finally brought the last pieces of it to Thailand where we have a condo. It's great.

For sturdiness and comfort alone it gets a 5.

would have been nice to receive this item with something to inflate the pieces. There is no indication on the instructions that this requires an extra device to inflate the pieces. Inside of the box is a poorly written instruction manual with no information about inflation.
