Worth it....by mickey.cainn (4 out of 5 stars)

Great controller. Fits my hands without feeling awkward. The buttons are somewhat recessed so it's gonna take some getting used too. Button inputs are crisp, you may find yourself canceling moves during a combo... Overall a good buy for myself...
Great small controller for tiny lady hands!

I guess all of the negative reviews were made by guys with huge hands, because I have had no issues with this controller. It is small and extremely light weight... perfect for us gals with tiny delicate hands and fingers. I can now utilize the triangle button. I have three controllers and they all have issues with the triangle working, not this MK controller. Finally, Johnny Cage can stop doing nut punches. I just need to learn and master timing with some of his combo moves so to move on to the next training moves. However, with Shang Tsung this controller is a dream!!! I haven't tried the other characters, because Shangy is my personal favorite and I want to master using him. So far the buttons work wonderfully and slip from another easily, but noisy when pressed. LOL Clicking sounds are annoying, but are muffled by the sounds of Shangys' fire balls and "ni xian zai si!" I also like how the button side is coated with a slippery glossy finish while the back of it has a silk matte finish. The matte finish prevents sweaty palms and the controller from slipping out. I also like the extra features such as the share and options buttons, as well as the ability to switch from PS3 to PS4 systems. Very nice! Some people complain about the R1 and L1 being included with the shapes, but I found that more useful than having those buttons on top of the controllers. I can do more with just sliding my thumb over those buttons than having to switch my index fingers over them. Normally I only use one of the R and L buttons, which limits playing. This controller fixed that problem. Thank you so much PDP for making such a useful controller for us ladies.
Great Arcade style controller!

Great controller, super responsive, feels good in the hands. A bit light but not cheaply made. The dragon logo is not metal or shiny as it looks. Its printed into the controller along with the Mortal Kombat X logo. That is the only letdown. Other than that, it's solid.
Defect controller?

Maybe I just got a defect one, but this is the worst controller experience ever for me. Im a big MK fan, and I was really looking forward to playing MKX with this controller. I connected the Fight Pad to the PS4's USB port when on the main PS4 screen. It registered, and I made it to where "I" was the user with the controller. I started MKX, and did a test match. It quit responding literally 10 seconds into the match. I tried reconnecting it, including removing the USB & inserting it again, no response. I had to manually turn off the PS4 and turn it back on for the controller to react, but it still would only be usable for maybe 10 seconds. Returning this product.
UPDATE: I got a replacement and it does work on the PS4 on MKX, as I was able to play a few rounds without disconnections. The button responsiveness isnt great, as the DualShock 4 is much better. This is an "okay" controller.

Great controller that worked perfectly with Mortal Kombat X. It helped my game play with an easy control layout customized specifically for Mortal Kombat X play. Great controller, great quality, great price!!
Use a Dual shock 4 or Buy the Hori Fighting Commander 4 Instead

Ironically enough, I find that the standard PS4 controller is better for playing MKX than this fight pad. I'm more accurate with combos/specials, and the buttons are more responsive. I play better while using the Hori FC4 as well.
The d-pad is incredibly small, but it still works. I like the buttons, but again I wish they were a bit larger (the Hori FC4 has it right).
I have a bit of a quality issue, as the L2 button needs to be pressed a bit harder than the R2 button in order to activate it. Its not a huge issue, as I tend to press buttons fiercely as I play anyway. Also, the paint on the Square button rubbed off in about 2 days. Oddly enough, the other buttons are fine.
Summary: For MKX, use the Dual shock 4. For every other fighting game, pad-wise, use the Hori FC4.
Good Controller Some Concerns

This controller certainly helps for solid key mapping for MK X, though after a few weeks the color on the square button has completely faded and though I can't be certain but it sometimes feels like the X button doesn't always register. I was at first concerned about the left side of the controller being longer than the right but it feels completely natural. Also worth noting the Share and Option keys are very close making it very difficult to hit the wrong one or both.

It's a neat controller. Reminds me of the Sega Genesis days when I first started playing Mortal Kombat. Only thing I would change is to move the L/R buttons to the left of the Square X Triangle Circle buttons as I find myself hitting them thinking they are regular punch/kick buttons.

Awesome controller, does take awhile to get used to. I play on Hard, had to go back down to Medium while I got used to this one, but now its great.
Few faults, one the paint on the buttons smudges off easily. My square button is now just a big black button. Also there's no touch screen. Not really a problem for the most part, but in Mortal Kombat X King of the Hill, you have to press the touch screen to go full screen, which means I play half screen.
Finally, its extremely light. It basically feels like a hollow piece of plastic which makes me question the price tag. Is the controller itself worth $50 on its own? I'd say no, more like $25. But being a die hard MK fan, yeah it becomes a little more comfortable. All that said, now that I'm used to it, I prefer to use this over my Dualshock 4 when playing Mortal Kombat. The fact I can play MK9 and MKX helps it too. Reminds me of playing MK Ultimate 3 on my Sega Genesis.

It's clicky sounding. I like clicky sounding things.
Plus if you play digital pinball games (zen pinball, pinball arcade) the bumpers have NO give. They just instantly click. Great for fighting games AND responsive pinball runs.
