Top Reviews

Pretty decent capabilities for not a lot of money
by William Reading (4 out of 5 stars)
June 30, 2015

I'm a fan of this product for traveling. I was a bit skeptical about buying it because some other reviews slammed the charging performance, but I got good results. The long and short of it is that I was able to charge at up to 1.5A with a single device attached and it's pretty lightweight. I'm happy with the purchase.

A few details about the product, since it's for traveling and I don't see them elsewhere:
* Weighs 163g (5.8oz)
* Height (with the plug folded down, not up) is 132mm or 5 3/16"
* Width is 50mm or 1 15/16"
* Depth is 34mm or 1 5/16"
* The cord is 1.5m or 59"
* Carrying bag weighs 8g (0.3oz)

I tested the charging capabilities of the charger with a few devices plugged in one at a time.
* iPad Mini 2 (6% battery)
* iPhone 6 (75% battery)
* Kindle Fire HD (10% battery)

I was able to get the iPad mini to charge at about 2A, the Fire to charge at about 1.5A, and the iPhone 6 to charge at about 1.0A. I got similar results with an Anker charger. I suspect that the iPhone 6 battery was lower, but I don't know without testing it. I also don't know how much current it will actually put out when multiple devices are charging, but I wouldn't be surprised if I can get a solid 3-4A out of the charger based on what I've seen and what it advertises.

Other Notes:
* Packaging product number is LB-288, which appears to be the product number of the original manufacturer in China
* No UL certification, though the product claims to have safety circuitry. I did not crack it open to validate this, but the weight on the box is advertised to be 260g, which is notably heavier than the hardware I have.
* Having shutters on the extension cord is a nice thing on a product in the US. I wish that were more common.

Great for Travel
by Cranky Scott (5 out of 5 stars)
July 6, 2015

This appears to be designed for travelers as it meets a number of needs.

It uses a Plug Type A (an ungrounded plug with two flat parallel pins). So when traveling you will still need an outlet converter for the country you are visiting. My suggestion is the transformer type Kikkerland UL03-A Universal Travel Adapter http://smile.amazon.com/Kikkerland-UL03-A-Universal-Travel-Adapter/dp/B00210MRGC?tag=c-t-20 (be sure to watch the video for how to use for the UK)

The built in outlet is a universal one and should accept most plug types. I have tested with North American, UK/Hong Kong and Euro.

The 5 foot power cord is not oversized in width nor is it bulky or heavy.

The yellow / green cord color, while not great for home decor, is perfect for travel as you can always find it and less likely to leave behind.

The (4) USB outlets work great. As other reviewers have noted these are not full strength USB. But for my needs it has worked for charging and iPhone 6+, Jambox, travel router and camera. Not as fast as a dedicated USB charger, but for my needs, this was just fine.

Safety flap prevents normal use
by Robko (3 out of 5 stars)
February 3, 2016

This met almost all my requirements: for travel: compact, cord management, capable USB. Would have been five stars, except the one 110V plug "safety flap" made it almost impossible to plug in the power supply for my MacBook Pro. Or anything else. Especially anything with a flip-out two pronged plug. So much force is required that any plug that folds wants to fold long before it actually plugs in. Even with rigid plugs, I had to put this on the floor to muster enough strength to get any two-pronged plug in. I thought I was going to break something. I wiggled and pushed, up and down, side to side, the "safety" flap would not allow me to plug it in. Reminds me of "adult proof safety caps". Where the poor engineering of "safety" prevents it's normal use. I'm giving this a 3 star because I intend to somehow disable this flap and make it work for me.

Perfect

Great small package extension cord for those who travel and need to charge multiple devices. My wife and I recently went to Europe and this made it so much easier to charge our US devices. One adapter and we could charge both our phones, my iPad, kindle, and run her hair straightener from the same box. It has an internal surge protector which, while I haven't had to mess with it, will hopefully prevent any shorts of expensive electronics. Rolls up nice and tight and easy to tuck away in a daypack.

died after 2.5 months
by Leah Colb Rothman (1 out of 5 stars)

It was perfect. Exactly what I needed. Well, the blue indicator LED was a bit bright, but I painted over it with some black nail polish and it was great. But then the USB ports all died after 10 weeks. Lasted just long enough so I can't return it, not long enough so I don't want to write a scathing review. Don't buy this item.

Quick fix for a great tool
by greg (4 out of 5 stars)

Great compact product concept making it ideal for those that endorse the Rick Steeves way of packing. I have learned to fit a week's worth of clothes in an overnight bag having traveled for forty years. The only downside is the 110/220 socket safety cap can be difficult to get past. The work-around is while the device is unplugged, pry the cap open carefully with a small screwdriver (ie push the screwdriver in and then down towards the ground plug receptacle) and inserting a dowel in the center hole. Trim the dowel so it is flush with the cover and leave inserted.

Buy Anker instead= reliable..this isn't
by Oakland (1 out of 5 stars)

Bought this for travel in 3-2017 to combine plug charging and usb charging instead of an extension cord and usb power strip. The USB portions on the AGPteck power strip worked for all USB types of devices only for 3 months then only for non-apple products. I wrote to customer sevice but received no response. Buy Anker power strips instead they are at least reliable and responsive.

Good travel adaptor.
by Steven (5 out of 5 stars)

Works well. The only slight issue I have with it is that the cord is just barely long enough to wrap all the way around to fit into the clip that holds the end of the cord in place. It takes some careful wrapping to get it to fit. One plus is that both sides disassemble easily (retaining clips) to allow access to the internals should any parts need replacing. I used this with a Euro plug adapter for Italy and France.

It burned up while I was in Peru
by Stephanie Warner (2 out of 5 stars)

It worked well for a few uses but then it started to smell like burnt electronics. It also overheated before it burned up. I would not buy this particular product again. It was unsafe and unreliable.

LOVE IT! Bought three
by jazlaw (4 out of 5 stars)
July 28, 2016

LIFESAVER when traveling. LOVE IT! Bought three: one for me, one for my husband, one for my mom. Whether in the airport or in the hotel room, this really came in handy. We travel internationally and goodness am I happy I bought these!

What I didn't realize was that one of the USB ports is a higher ampage than the rest. So I used that port when I needed something charged faster.
