good charging stand but needs to sit sideways

It's a nice stand that the watch sits on well enough while charging, but I can't help but feel like the way the cord snakes through and then you plug up the holes with plastic stoppers and a card-board-like round-jam thing feels a little like a jerry-rigged prototype than a fully realized Mophie product.

Also, I spent a couple months of being annoyed with how the watch sort of rotates a little askew sideways and doesn't sit straight every time I tried to position it on the stand the way the photo shows (with the dial on the right like when you're wearing it) until one day by accident I realized that the magnets are not actually meant to align in that position - if you put it on the stand sideways with the dial at the top - it snaps perfectly into place and goes into 'night stand mode' (which displays the time).

It's sort of inexplicable to me that the photo shows the watch sitting there in a way that it was not designed to be charged - unless my watch is the only one that does this?

This is a beautiful dock. It's well made and the cord is nicely hidden. My watch with the sport band on it doesn't fall off. You really can't fully turn it in nightstand mode, however-- the arm of the stand will bump into the band and it'll be a little crooked. If nightstand mode is important to you, you'll probably want to get another stand. The 12 South Forte stand is similar in appearance. The weigh of the stand is good enough. I haven't knocked the stand over yet, though I would have preferred it to either be a little heavier or have a micro suction cup sort of surface on the bottom. I agree with others that it's going to be a small chore to take out the charger when you travel and the size isn't the most compact for travel, if you're hoping to take the stand with you. You're better off buying another charging cable/ stand for travel purposes.

I wish the angle of the charging surface was lower/flatter. The Apple charging cable magnet doesn't hold my watch securely. There has been one occurrence where my watch didn't charge overnight because of the alignment on the stand. The materials, height, and cable management are perfect.

Perfect for overnight charging of iWatch. It keeps the watch elevated and off the surface of the dresser or counter you would normally have it on. Simple to find in the morning. Easy to assemble the base is weighted so it doesn't tip over. Good functional design.
