We were really excited to get this product because it has such a cool design, but the design turned out to be much lamer than we thought is would be. The bowl is pretty shallow, so when you pour pasta in to be strained, water sometimes splashes out the sides. It also means there isn't a lot of space for stuff, so you might have to strain 2 or 3 batches.

The bowl is much smaller than I thought it would be. It couldn't even hold one pound of rotini pasta without some spilling over the edge. Also, I am not confident in its stability, so I ended up spilling boiling hot water on my bare foot. Ouch. Secondly, whenever I tried to soak my grape tomatoes, the water would not stay over to the further side, away from the strainer, so my tomatoes really didn't get a long soak like they needed. I am going to use it more, and hopefully I'll get the hang of it..

The strainer it self works well and is a good sized...however I was very disappointed when it arrived in Red, which is not even a color option when placing the order. We just renovated our kitchen and it does not match whatsoever with other items on our open shelving.

I really like this unique take on the strainer. Although it wasn't ideal for noodles, it is perfect for grapes or other fruit you'd like to rinse off! It took a little extra persuasion when straining noodles to get all the water out because all the water is forced to go out of the spout which was being goaltended by the noodles themselves. I especially love it for grapes because they didn't restrict the water flow and after strained you can just set the bowl on your counter and not worry about water slowly trickling all over the place like what would happen with a traditional strainer. I love how it looks like a regular bowl but is a strainer in disguise.

My only wish is that the strainer was a bit larger.

I love to cook but I will have to admit that washing fruits and veggies takes a little time if you don't have the proper equipment (think a bowl with a hand trying to keep everything from falling out the side while you are pouring the water out!). I will have to hand it to this product, it has the perfect solution to quickly washing fruits and veggies in a very convenient style and form factor- being able to have a small drain hole on the side of the bowl with holes small enough to keep everything in the bowl. This product looks great, functions amazingly and I really like it.

This Anton strainer bowl is a very cool device in the kitchen. It definitely looks like it is from the future. The design is incredible due to the shape of the bowl, the striking red color, and the great multi-functioning nature of the bowl. The beauty of it is the fact that you can use this bowl both as a strainer for your pasta, and as a plate to eat from.

I used it today for pasta making. I am always out of strainers and bowl to eat from, so this is really an awesome addition to my plate and strainer collection. Straining water from pasta out of this strainer is very simple. The plastic it is made from does not get hot that easily or fast, so it will not get overheated when you are using it. No pasta escaped from the bowl when I was straining it, so there is another great feature and advantage of this particular item.

Once the pasta was strained, I placed the bowl back in my pot for the leftover water to pour out. I do find that due to a bottleneck type of design of the strainer part this particular bowl strainer does not get rid of all the water in the pasta. My pasta I did today was bow tie pasta, so that may have also made it a bit more difficult for the strainer to do its job perfectly well.

I think that this strainer is a really cool thing to have in the kitchen, and it would make a great gift for someone you care about. I would say it is a more modern device to have, so probably more suitable for someone younger, or someone who likes colorful objects in the kitchen. Part of the charm of this particular strainer/bowl is the color of it, and this item is probably something people may leave on their counter for display purposes, not like what we usually do with strainers hiding them far in the middle of the cupboard.
