If any of your propane tanks are the older kind, like most of our are, this is a great tool to see which tanks are full and partially full, and how full, before you hook them up for Low Country Boil, a Crawfish/Shrimp Boil, cooking a large jambalaya to feed hundreds or just dozens of friends. Before this we had to find our bathroom scale and then have the trouble of putting oftentimes tanks with rust on the very bottom on those bathroom scales. This eliminates that scenario and helps you know how much liquid propane is in your tanks.

After reading reviews from the gauges that are magnets you slap on the side and then pour hot water over, or the pressure gauges which apparently don't work (and after I remember some tanks did have less pressure than others), then the weight gauge is the only one that should.

It was in a clam shell pack that had to be cut open. Just a minor annoyance, but you all know how everyone likes packaging things in those things now. After opening it smelled strongly of oil/grease like it was made in an auto mechanic shop. I kinda like it :). I took it out and knowing that my tank was very nearly empty already, I hooked it on and lifted. Immediately it showed me I had on the low end of 1/4 of a tank left. Loved it.

Now I don't know if this is recommended, but I'm considering getting another hook, and hooking it to the side of the grill and just having the tank permanently hang from the gauge. I'm sure there will be a lot of people telling me that is a bad idea but...

This was the best price that I was able to find, shipping was fast through FBA, and the packaging was nice and secure. I'll recommend this to anyone who says they need a gauge.

Love this item! I am a food vendor, we use a lot of propane seems what we felt would be empty actually had a lot of propane left in the tank , so we've been filling tanks that still had propane in it therefore wasting money, had the gauge you screw directly on the tanks but that doesn't work too long they tend to clog, this item is spot on EVERYTIME we use it, we have made fewer trips to the propane station! Highly recommend!

It works as it should. At first I thought it didnt work because my tank said it was empty. So I fired up the propane heater and it ran out 5 seconds later... Got a new tank and it shows its only filled to 3/4. Which is exactly what I was told they fill them to. The next tank I will have it refilled instead of exchanged to see if they put more in, might be cheaper :) This also let's me know how much I use and I can figure out how much I have left.

Works great and we find it to be extremely accurate. Most of our employees can tell when a propane tank is full or empty by picking it up - but this is nice to be able to tell if it's 1/4 full or 1/4 empty, something that isn't as easy to tell by just lifting a tank. What they really need to make is one of these that weighs the larger tanks - now THAT would be worth my money. This was more of a novelty, but for the price I was willing to try it out. I wouldn't buy it again, but it does work great so I give it 5 stars.

A good product. It paid for itself the first time I was jipped at my local gas station. I showed the attendant the scale and he gave me a full tank, instead of the half-tank that he first gave me.

It doesn't give exact weight equaling amount of gas remaining, but works well enough to give a pretty good idea that it'll be just about time to replace your tank. I use propane for smoking meats and there is nothing worse when smoking meats than running out of gas just as you're just about to hit finished temperatures.

I grill a lot. I always have 3 tanks on hand so switch out is easy. This allows me to know what is left in each tank. Works like a luggage scale, clip it on and lift. I got beat once when I returned a tank and after paying was told that there was at least a 1/4 tank left. Not happy. So I purchased this. This scale is nothing fancy but it works.
