Product Description

Pavlok helps break bad habits by associating the discomfort of the electric jolt with the bad habit that is being performed. The device may be activated manually by clicking the top of the module, or can be activated by an external sensor connected to the Pavlok application on a paired iPhone 4s or later (android coming soon). Examples of external sensors are gps, accelerometers, browser extensions, or custom-written software. When the sensor detects a bad habit it sends a signal to the app, which triggers the programmed function on the device (jolt, beep or vibration). Note for wearing/use: - This product must be in direct contact with your skin in order to work properly. When wearing Pavlok, make sure to wear it tight enough so that it does not move around if you shake your wrist. - When adjusting the electric stimulus in the app, always be sure to select "save to device" in order to update your settings. - If you feel no electric stimulus or weak electric stimulus, be sure to charge the device for 2-3 hours, then pair with the device and test stimulus at 100% from the device controls menu in the app. - This device is safe for use by all persons, however those who have a known heart condition, are pregnant or under the age of 18 should consult their doctor before use.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me
by D.Rad (1 out of 5 stars)

I actually bought two of these devices and the old adage "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me" definitely applies..

Both devices failed, after about a period of 10 - 15 days.

The bad reviews are NOT ANECDOTAL as I speak from experience having purchased two of them and was exceedingly careful with my second and it had the same rate of failure. If you were buying this as an alarm clock as I did 2 times ( because I thought maybe I did something wrong and broke it ), DONT. It will work for a week or so but will inevitably fail as many have stated.

I say buyer beware but that seems obvious. The product is a great idea and probably could be implemented well, but this team obviously just making the cash grab and not improving their hardware. The app is complete trash too.

Other buyers will say buy a rubber band I would tend to agree with them.

Shock stopped working, thought I really liked it and now a waste of $200
by J Arpan (1 out of 5 stars)

The shock charge is suddenly merely a vibration now - extremely disappointed after only 3 months using this product. That kind of $$$ spent should yield a much longer product life, only used this a few days a week to help in the mornings. Can't just spend another $200 because the shock stops working.

I bought this product a year ago. It doesn't work anymore.

This thing really works!

It helped me stop using filler language (weak language that makes me sound less professional) and it also got me to stop biting my nails. Its been three months now and I want to keep breaking bad habits. It's so effective. You have to be disciplined and open to the idea. If you are it works wonders.

Not always shocking
by Ken Wells (3 out of 5 stars)

I like the idea of this product. But it needs work. I am tall and big and the band just barely fits on the first hole. The shock device itself works fine. The software looks great. But the software is pretty buggy and not very dependable.

I use this tool to remind myself that the time is 5 minutes before the hour during the business day. I have a habit of getting hypnotized by what I'm working on or thinking about, and go to meetings late. It's clearly my biggest career road block. Enter Pavlok.

When it works, it is very helpful. But, it just seems like the blue tooth connection is weak? And/or, the software really needs more work under the surface. Sometimes the shock at prescribed time, continues and the software wont' let me turn it off. Which is sort of distracting when trying to get to the next meeting that I forgot about.

Keep going. This could turn out to be a very useful product if they can spend more money on getting the software solid.

It's a miracle in our home. We accidentally bought two and gave one to my husband. Amazing product.

Stopped his picking off the skin and helped me manage anxiety. It is a great product, didn't expect it to work as well as it did.

Now we don't leave the house without it!

Double check box contents immediately, even if you are giving it as a gift.

I received this package WITHOUT the Pavlock shocker in it despite paying full price. I ordered it as a Christmas present for my mother, so it is too late to return. What is the point of having the rubber bracelet and a charger when there is nothing to use it for? I was extremely embarrassed when she opened the present.

In-app purchases...really?
by Matthew (1 out of 5 stars)

Good for what it is supposed to do but you realize quick and it even tells you that you can "unlock" new apps though the use of its own reward currency problem I have with that is your paying $180 to have in-app purchases to make the device more convenient. The app even lets you purchase the in-app currency in micro transactions.

Great idea, inconsistent, poorly made product
by amanda andrew (1 out of 5 stars)

Love the idea of Pavlok. I have owned three, the first worked sporadically and was FANTASTIC when it did, but the battery died after less than a year of use. Bought another and was absolutely unable to keep the thing paired to my phone. Apparently that is a pretty wide spread problem. Just recently I even returned this one and bought the Pavlok 2 directly from the website, hoping that these issues would be fixed. Nope. Still couldn't pair and this time the shock was so weak when it did work I don't think it would have been effective at all anyway. Again, love the idea, but the implementation is TERRIBLE. I might give it another try in a few years if they manage to come out with a consistent product.
