Best Camping Chair I've Owned
by Matt Fleener (5 out of 5 stars)
May 28, 2016

GENERAL

This chair is well worth the cost, it's very light weight, easy to assemble, comes in it's own carry sack. It does not take up too much room and it is extremely comfortable. Though depending on where you are camping/sitting the chair may sink into the soil. You're going to want to get some tennis balls and cut a hole in the top, you'll then be able to slip them on the feet of this chair. I'm able to fit 4 slightly smaller dog toy tennis balls in the bag with the chair. Alternatively you could probably find 4 rocks that are similar and flat to sit each foot on. Depends if you want to take the time to find 4 rocks or one large one every time you use the chair in the woods. This is not a down fall of this chair, but rather a reflection of how annoying soil can be, it's just exacerbated with this chair due to the small feet that are easier to sink into the soil.

But i'm about 235 5'9" and this chair fits me comfortable. Treat it well and it will treat you well.

Sinking in Soft Ground
by K. McCammon (4 out of 5 stars)

I am a touch over 6 ft and hovering around 200 lbs, the chair is supportive and comfortable. I haven't field tested this thing yet but I feel confident in the quality.

The sinking legs that I have read about should be an easy fix without any additional purchases. One of my favorite beers (Daisy Cutter by Half Acre) comes in packs of four cans and the plastic carrier is pretty thick. With a pair of scissors I cut away the plastic joints on the carrier and was left with four light weight disks that I will bring along just in case. I'm sure a chunk of tree bark would work just as well.

Great portable, small chair...random pricing though.

Overall a great chair! Seller shipped quickly as well! Not only would these chairs (we got two) be an awesome, small package, lightweight, and sturdy (albeit a little flexible) addition to any campsite, they are wonderful for those times you move from overseas and beat your household goods by three months! Gotta have somewhere to sit! The chairs themselves are great and assembly almost by themselves given the elastic that pulls the poles together, but I gave them 4 stars because I can't stand when the most sought after colors (of many products really) are either never available when I want them or are more expensive (sometimes waaay more) than other colors of the same product. I'm fairly certain that it costs just as much to make in one color as others. No knock on the chairs though.

We have tried other "lightweight" chairs and stools only to find them heavier than what we'd like or

This was our third time back to Lake Powell on our kayaks.. We have tried other "lightweight" chairs and stools only to find them heavier than what we'd like or just uncomfortable. These chairs made our 4 night trip so much more enjoyable.. being able to sit comfortably on a multiday camping trip was a blessing as opposed to sitting on rocks or sand. They were easy to pack, easy to deploy and very compact when stored in it's little bag.

Easier to put the seat on than the knock offs.
by M. Costas (5 out of 5 stars)

I got this one after I returned the outad one. That one was sooooo tight I had to stuggle to get the seat on. After setting it up a couple times in the house one of the frame ends broke off.

I liked the concept though so I decided to spend a few extra bucks and take a chance on this one.

I love it! Although it is still tight, I can put the seat on without unreasonable effort. The frame components do not seem overstressed.

The cheaper one was comfortable but I felt like I was sliding off a little. That could be just a matter of individual variations. I feel better nestled in the helinox one though.

Another concern of mine was getting in and out of it. I'm 5'4" and have knee replacements but had no trouble getting out. I also like the slight reclining positioning, my back doesn't like sitting bolt upright.

I frequently skip going to the neighbors to sit on their patio and chat because the chairs are such that I sit bolt upright. Now I will just bring this one.

I got the pretty meadow green one and plan on taking it on long dayhikes so I can take a comfortable break without sitting on the ground full of ticks and bedbugs. I'll also take it to get togethers, so much lighter than those other folding chairs, more comfortable as well. I don't mind the lack of cup holder or armrests.

I will probably pick up another one of these eventually.

It's a great lightweight chair
by Scoutmaster Avery (5 out of 5 stars)

I am a big guy, 6'2" and 250lbs. I was sceptical about this chair, but looking for something to through in my backpack for hikes with the boy scouts. My old knees and back were starting to want rest on something more than a log when we got there.

I can't tell you how pleased I am with this chair. It's comfortable, it's light, and it's never let me down yet.

They sell an add-on kit for the feet for soft ground, and it would probably help a lot, but I haven't bought that.

The only warning I do have is that it seems a bit unstable until you get used to the way it balances. I can now take a nap in the chair, not the best nap in the world, but I have been found sleeping in it at camp.

The only drawback I found with this chair is the color options sell at different price points on amazon. I wound up with the green chair as it was $30 cheaper than all the others at the time of my purchase.

The only version that I am aware of with a cup holder is the 50th anniversary, but you are so close to the ground that it's really irrelevant.

Take note when you set it up that the instruction tell you what side of the chair to put on first. Read the instructions, follow them, it's next to impossible to put it together if you do it backward's.

In addition to the chairs color, note that the frames are different colors as well, if that matters to you then take note before you order.

When collapsed and in its stuff sack the bag is roughly the same size as my hammock in its stuff sack. I carry the chair, my hammock, a rain fly, mosquito netting, tree straps, and fleece sleeping bag all in the sleeping bag section of my backpack.

Great backpacking chair
by C. Flitton (5 out of 5 stars)
April 11, 2018

I bought this because I serve on a mountain rescue team that involves backpacking in and a lot of sitting. These chairs are awesome. They're comfortable and at two pounds I can justify the extra weight. The construction of them is such that the frame almost snaps together as you pull it out of the bag, then you just put the chair fabric over it. The chair is stable. The legs do sink a little in soft ground. That can be alleviated by taking PVC pipe and drilling holes for the legs to go into. The only drawback, and it's a very minor one, is that if your legs are sore getting out of this can be a chore. Keep your trekking poles handy.

Great chair for the digital nomad
by Jared (5 out of 5 stars)

Arrived quickly and as expected. Color and appearance are consistent with photo. No issues with quality. Assembles quickly and easily as per provided instructions. Chair legs will sink in to soft materials, so I also purchased ground sheet attachment, which works well and prevents this issue. Very comfortable for such a lightweight and compact chair. I have used in the mountains and on the beach.

Great for kayak chairs
by Cat Momma (5 out of 5 stars)
June 8, 2019

Bought these to toss into the back of the kayaks for stops along the river. Nicer than sitting in the sand! Surprisingly easy to put together. Extremely light weight. Not "easy chair" comfort, but will do nicely for short stops. Worried about sturdiness being so light weight...but time will tell....I am guessing they will do fine.

super light chair.

Purchased for motorcycle camping and kid's soccer games, this is light (2 lbs) and small enough to bring almost anywhere. Weighs as much as two iPhones. Comfortable. Needs the optional ground cloth or tennis balls on the feet if the ground is mushy or sand. The optional rocker is pretty cool.
