When I saw the Repel A Pest I thought maybe I should get one for my girlfriend to take to Mexico with her next month so she doesn't catch the Zika virus. But after reading more about the ultrasonic device, it seems it's... [Read more]

Not Effective

It does not do anything except turns on the led light.

I have to return this.

I do not recommend this product. It is just waste of time.

I also bought this unit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014HROTYE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_81

It is a different brand but it seems they come from the same factory.

It is also ineffective and I had to return both.

People gasp when I tell them I have mice but i'm like, seriously settle your t*ts cause this is Manh

I got 4 of these for my NYC apartment. People gasp when I tell them I have mice but i'm like, seriously settle your t*ts cause this is Manhattan and you're kidding yourself if you think you're pre-war construction apartment doesn't have them.

Anyhow, after one weekend of catching 8 mice using traps I though enough was enough Getting a cat wasn't an option on account of the fact my dog would probably eat it I got on amazon and started looking for highly reviewed pest solutions and found this. I was very dubious but the high volume of gushing reviews kinda threw me so I thought what the heck what have I got to loose.
4 weeks later, i'm mice free, no more signs of droppings anywhere whereas before i'd spot them very frequently.

Fingers crossed this honeymoon lasts

No more attic scratching
by CJ (5 out of 5 stars)

After hearing some scratching noises in the attic, I bought one of these to give it a try. I will confess I was dubious. I did a bit of research online and saw a large number of sources that said these things to do not work.

There has not been any scratching in the attic since I put it in. It was probably a larger animal like a flying squirrel, so the stories about it not working on mice in walls may be true. But it seems to have worked for me.

No good for mice.
by Kindle Customer (3 out of 5 stars)

This just doesn't do the trick for mice. It won't drive them out of your house, or apartment, or whatever. Its like having a roomie who watches tv really loudly. It may be annoying, but it wont make you run out of the house.

That being said, I DO believe that this works somewhat on spiders. I have had some minor spider issues in the basement by the windows, and once I plugged in these, I immediately saw the webs start to vibrate like crazy. I imagine the spiders just cant handle the constant vibrations these things put out. However, the outlet is fairly close to the window, which I believe is important. I do not believe this will do anything about ants, cockroaches, annoying relatives or anything like that.

Bottom line: Useless against anything but spiders. If you have mice, invest in a exterminator and some expanding builders foam or copper mesh to fill and seal any gaps in your house.

These things work!

Was hesitant to buy these, normally I'm the type of person that believes only in biological or chemical warfare when it comes to pests, however, these definitely seem to piss off whatever rodents you have in whatever room you plug these in. I would estimate the range on this is just a single room, but my wife had seen a mouse in her closet and I plugged one of these bad boys in our bedroom and within 15 minutes the mouse had run out of her closet and into our bedroom where the family cat could enjoy a new friend. Unfortunately, the family cat truly did treat it like a friend and they seemed to get along just fine so I had to try to corner the damn thing to get it out of the house. Best of all I didn't subject my kids to my normal level 3 hazardous materials chemical onslaught to rid the house of rodents.

I hate catching the mice in the mechanical traps but don't ...

I purchased 1 unit and it didn't seem to have much of an effect on the mice They kept coming. I then bought 2 more and placed a traditional mouse trap with a small bit of cheese next to one of the Repellers. Within 1 hour, a mouse got caught in the trap. I won't be buying any more. I hate catching the mice in the mechanical traps but don't have much of a choice. Anyone having a better idea, please let me know. I'll follow up if I have better luck in the future. Don't know about the insects yet.

So long, stinky vermin!
by Chetti (5 out of 5 stars)

Why did I wait so long to buy one of these??? We live in the woods. We've had a problem with rats digging under the foundation of our home to get into the crawlspace for years. When my neighbor put in a bird feeder the problem increased immensely. Our life had become a string of setting traps under the house & having to monitor them constantly. Sometimes we'd be killing 3-5 a week. They would get into our insulation and the smell would come through into the base cabinets of our kitchen. It was awful!!! When I saw the reviews on this product I told my husband I wanted to try it. He looked at me like I was crazy. "You're throwing away $25." I delayed, but the words of the reviewers kept coming back to me. I decided to give it a try. After all, what's there to lose? There's a money back guarantee. I ordered, it was delivered quickly. I plugged it in under the building against the wall (the noise bounces off solid surfaces). That was it. No more rats. My husband & I are in amazement. This has greatly improved our lives. Thank you, to all the previous reviewers for convincing me. And thanks to Amazon & the manufacturer. I love it! And it doesn't bother my cats one bit.

Worth a shot

Since there's no real way to show if this is working I can say we haven't had any mice since I plugged it in. We live in the country so we get them from time to time. We have a craft room that was added in our garage. My daughter has been afraid to go in there since she saw a mouse. She trusts Repel A Pest enough to go back in the room. :) Thanks for letting me try this for free to review.

They do not repel anything; been plugged in for at least 4 months. No positive results!!!
by M. Moore (1 out of 5 stars)
April 9, 2016

I have had 4 of these plugged in at the house for several months now and have not seen any signs of it repelling any thing. Lady bugs, stink bugs, ants, spiders all are coming and going as if nothing has changed. I installed one at the community club building and it has been there for 3-4 months and still getting mice in the building as indicated by them getting caught in our mouse traps. These things as far as I have seen are useless other than being a cool little blue night light. I do not recommend them.

I put a couple of these in various spots in the house. I can only assume they work as we haven't seen any rodents but we've done a bunch of other things to ensure we didn't see rodents as well, just hoping these help keep them out.
