This light is bright enough for reading, but not so bright that it will disturb someone sleeping nearby. It's a perfect combination of art and science. It looks way cooler than a night light or regular reading lamp. Kids love it. The battery lasts a long time. It's lightweight and folds down to be very portable.

Nice and bright. I've been donating these to people in need in Puerto Rico. Over 40 families have received the gift of light and I need more as many will not receive light until late Spring and beyond.

I bought several of these to give to older grandchildren at Christmas. Charged them up in a sunny window first, then, loved them so much I kept them! They are very cool. They are not only extremely compact and light weight, they make a very pretty lantern-like light, with two levels of brightness and a flashing option as well. I would definitely use them for hiking/camping (could easily be slipped under back pack straps to recharge during the day, and then hang up nicely in a tent) but also have been using them around the house for a kind of fun decorative lantern. They cast a surprising amount of light for such a simple design. I have not let one stay on all night, so not sure how well it really holds the charge, but they claim 8 or more hours. I'm buying more -- this time for the grandchildren.

I can not say enough about this product. I ordered two and I now wish it were more. I use one to take my dog on walks at night and it is perfect. So light wait and fits right on your hand. We also used them as night light in our kids tents and they really do last 8 hours. If you are questioning wether or not to order it do it!!!

I received one as a present last year and it continues to work great. Even after being stored in a drawer for the past two months since a camping trip, it turned right on. Easy storage due to it's collapsable design.
