I first purchased this in pink. I showed it to my friend who we were going on vacation with. She liked it so much I sold it to her and purchased another one (in blue) for myself. We went on vacation in Feb. at an all inclusive in Jamaica. I knew it would be used for the pool, beach, and if we went on any excursions (ex. a day trip snorkeling.) We could place $ and phones in it, lock it up and throw in the beach bag. I loved the hot pink, but I bought the second one in blue. More research showed it could be attached to the clothes rod in a closet. Hide it between hanging clothes. I thought the blue would blend in better than the hot pink. I might use it more than once a year this way! I considered another brand that is more "tubular" and has a large opening. While we were on vacation I really looked at the chair/loungers and discovered they wouldn't have worked for me. (neither on vacation or at home) I was really glad I made the decision I did. Yes, the storage space was tighter. But nothing was falling out of the sides and the ability to actually lock it TO something was significantly larger with this one. Also, I gave myself a perk. My old Kindle Paper White was too large for this..(3 + years) BUT the new Kindle Paper White fits perfectly! With a leather cover! I could fit cash, Motorola Modo Phone, room card, ear buds, and Kindle. The Kindle only fits one way, but I don't care how it fits, just that it does. The box shut closed with no problems. VERY happy with this purchase.!

Perfect Size, Easy To Carry, And Very Sturdy [UPDATE after 1.5 Years of Use at Bottom]

I've had this in pink for several months now, carrying it everywhere I go, and it looks brand new. I dropped it on concrete one time while carrying groceries and it didn't even scratch it. It is 100% worth the money even though it's a bit expensive at $49. You get what you pay for and this is important to me so I paid for the best one I could find that I could carry. I use it to keep my medications safe and locked up. The dimensions are perfect for something like this. There's no lack of space, in my opinion, with this box. I carry it everywhere and I've only gotten compliments on how awesome it is. Nobody's ever asked "why are you carrying around a safe" they're more like "that's awesome where did you get that?" It's impossible to break into without a passcode or key, even an adult, unless someone stole it and smashed it. I expected it to be much easier to break into but we tried as a test and couldn't do it. So no child could ever get into it and an adult would likely have to use a hammer to break into it. That's how sturdy it is. It comes with 2 keys, if you lose both they will send you an extra one. However, it's easy to keep the extra key in a safe place to not lose both. I added a picture so you can see the size of it compared to a typical water bottle (a pint or .9 FL OZ). It's not too big and not too small. It's an attractive size and if you're buying this to keep medicine safe and away from kids I can say this is perfect for it. I will use it at the beach for my phone, wallet, and keys as well soon. They all fit easily in it.

EDIT: So I originally reviewed this item on 1/1/2017. This is an update.
4/22/2018 This case is still as new. I get A LOT of compliments on it and questions of where I bought it. There's not a scratch on it, not on the pink not on the lock, not on the keys, not anywhere. It looks brand new. Everything works perfectly. Have I dropped it? Oh yeah. On a variety of hard & soft surfaces. I just wanted to let anyone reading know, nearly a year later and a half later, it's as new. This was absolutely worth the money.

Received mine today, had easy instructions to unlock and change the combination. I am including some photos because many people question the size of this and what it can hold. One photo shows the safe next to a water bottle so you can get an idea of the size in comparison. I was able to easily store 2 iPhone 8 plus phones with their otterbox cases on and had room for one more phone. If you have the bulky cases, it may only hold 2, otherwise it will hold 3 just fine. There was plenty of space left off to the side of the phones to hold keys and other smaller items. Also, I did some splash testing on this before I was willing to trust this next to the pool and it pretty much failed all my splash testing. I did several different degrees of splashing and it had water inside after each test. So I wouldn't suggest trusting this to any amount of water. Other than that I think this will give me some peace of mind while I am on the beach. I plan to attach it up inside my beach umbrella, so it will be hidden and someone would have to take off with the entire bright green umbrella to steal this lol

I ordered one in Blue for myself and also one SAFEGO Portable Travel Lock Box Safe with Key and Combination Access (Pink) for my wife.

At first I was surprised to find the SafeGo much smaller than I expected.

However it is very sturdy and worked well when at Aquatica.

My wife used hers on a Girls Weekend Away, and it worked well for her too.

I recommend one per person. You can fit keys, a phone and a wallet in one, and that's about it.

A WARNING- never leave the cable unlocked! My wife put her pink SafeGo in her luggage unlocked. The cable worked its way into the SafeGo and became stuck. This jams the lid, making it UN-openable ,and it was difficult to get the cable out, because the lip of the lid was holding it in place. This is completely avoidable, never push the cable in all the way when unlocked.

Purchased this for my trip to Jamaica just to be safe. First let me say that the product does hold much more than I was expecting. Whenever we left the beach we would lock the safe around a tree next to our chair, to our chair, or any place close by that we needed. The SafeGo was built very sturdy and I never had any worries about someone either taking or breaking into the box while we were away. The lock was sturdy and I never felt worried leaving my items in it unattended.

I was able to comfortably put two Galaxy S6 Edge phones, lighter, keys, cigarettes, and a water proof camera in it at one time. The people we were traveling with said they were going to buy one once they returned after using and seeing ours. One thing that rally impressed me was when one of the cofounders of SAFEGO emailed me asking for my feedback and to see what my impressions were. That ladies and gentleman is customer service!!!!!!!!! I explained that we had not had a chance to use it yet and I would post the review upon my return.

The only thing I would change or ask for was maybe a second model that is about 2-3 inches longer/wdier (left to right). If it had been just slightly longer I would have been able to put a few more items in here along with what I had mentioned previously. Otherwise the product was perfect and did what I was hoping for and even exceeded my expectations.

We strung this thru 2 beach chairs as suggested. We put 2 phones, hotel keys, cash and credit card in with ample room left over. It's just a tiny bit too short for a kindle. It was great to wander into the ocean and not have to keep looking back to see if our stuff was still hidden under towels. This is not a safe like what you would find in your hotel room, but someone that is out to steal is going to take something that is easy to take, not haul 2 beach lounges down the beach in order to get access to the contents of the locked box. We are frequent beach vacationers and I am 100% pleased with this purchase. Would definitely buy again and will give as a gift to other vacationers.

Great concept but poor quality material used for cable ends

Purchased this for a recent trip to Hawaii. The safe itself is made of durable material. The number dial is a bit small but workable. The cable used to attach the safe to a fixture is just the right length and flexibility. The metal alloy used for the ends of the cable is such poor quality that after only one week of use during the trip, the cable ends are already rusty (see pics).

Not Water Resistant

We bought this because it said it was water resistant. We were at the beach and we had a light rain. The box filled with water. I suspect the water enters where the security cable connects to the box. If you look closely where this connection is you can see inside the box. Water runs down the cable and into the box.

Can't change the code!

I thought this safe was great, I tried to change the code following the directions. The button you have to shift to reset it is tiny. It was painful to try to move it. I then reset the code, or so I thought, only to find out that I didn't fully reset it... now the new code doesn't work and neither does the original code! The only way it will work is with a key..... I bought this so I wouldn't have to carry my keys and now I need a to carry a key to get in it!

Attached image of the tiny button that you have to slide and shift. It's impossible! I tried to call the company and was sent to voicemail.
