Wonderful on my Fujifilm XT2, glad I did not purchase a gorillapod
by Bellipotens (5 out of 5 stars)

I was looking at gorillapods and just did not want something as big as the 3k or 5k. Also hearing all the failures of the joins I did not want to risk my gear. I wanted a flexible tripod that can attach to a chair, grab bar, not too thick branch and allow the camera to sit on uneven surfaces such as rocks. This does it and it folds around the camera so it's always there without tanking up room. It can easily hold my XT2 with battery grip and the 16mm lens. I'm glad I purchased this and not the gorillapod

Nice DSLR Tripod Mount
by Kev042 (4 out of 5 stars)
January 17, 2016

This review is for the DSLR version. This a true tripod since it only has 3 legs and not the 5 seen in some of the photos. I was a bit skeptical at first since a few camera review sites didn't give this mount a particular high rating for holding a full size DSLR camera and suggested that it only be used for mounting an external flash. The mount is sturdy and the legs are quite flexible. I'm a little reserved on how many times the legs can be flexed before the internal metal breaks due to fatigue.

Some of the off-site reviews give this a lower rating since one leg cannot support a heavy camera. This is correct. My camera (Nikon D5100 with 300mm telephoto lens) weighs 1.162kg/2.56lbs. The mount supports 1.2kg/2.6lbs. That would mean each leg can support 0.4kg/0.86lbs. So a single leg will not support the entire weight of a full size DSLR without bending. But as a whole, this mount could support more than it claims.

The only downside to this mount is its size - it's a bit large. It doesn't fit well in my camera backpack and the exposed mounting screw will scratch whatever it touches (I'm probably going to find a plastic cover for the screw).

Overall the mount is sturdy and does what it says it will do. I needed this because I like to take a lot of shots from the ground/floor pointing up and a flexible mount like this fit my requirements.

This product is great. It exceeded my expectations
by VinC (5 out of 5 stars)

This product is great. It exceeded my expectations. It was a toss up between the Miggo Splat, Manfrotto mini tripods, and any of the Joby Gorillapods. The Manfrotto and Jobys look more stable but look cumbersome when not in use if left on the camera. I didn't want to deal with the mounting/dismounting.

I chose the Miggo for its flexibility, weight, and thin profile. I like how it can wrap around your camera or mold it so it is non-intrusive when left on the camera. If I'm shooting/carrying the camera but don't need the tripod, I shape it like a forward facing Trident The rear facing leg is folded to face forward (directly under the lens). Then I bend/curve the outer legs forward until they are parallel with the rear leg and lens. This should resemble a trident. Then I bend the tips of the outer legs 90 degree upwards to shorten the horizontal length. It is very compact and also served as bumper guards for the side of the lens. The folded legs also serves as a stable base when resting the camera.

I used it on my Sony A7 II with a Loxia 35mm/2 manual lens (hefty weight for its size). I used on the slippery boulders by the beach, on sand and on tabletops. I didn't try to hang it off a tree or pole.

Many practical uses for this tripod!
by Max C (5 out of 5 stars)

I bought this mainly to use with my portable projector rather than to use with my DSLR. For that purpose, it's been perfect. I love how easily adjustable it is and how stable the legs are. I've taken it out on the town with my Nikon D800 once too, and it worked great. It was able to handle the weight of the camera without any issues, and it allowed me to get some shots I would not have been able to without it. I like that it has a hole on one end that you can use to wall mount it, but I haven't actually tried that out yet. It could come in handy if I mount the projector on a wall in the future. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a versatile, portable tripod that can serve multiple uses!

Well worth the price

I was hesitant about spending $25 on a small type of tripod like this, but I needed one since my other one broke. I bought this and when it arrived I was suprised about how sturdy it was holding my camera and the quality of this product is amazing. It gets great angles and shots without me having to worry about my camera falling forwards or off the tripod for that matter. It has a locking ring to keep the camera in place better on the tripod. It's a great product and if you are thinking about getting this, I recommend definitely getting it.

Won't last forever, but will get good mileage
by T (5 out of 5 stars)

This is my second Miggo. The first one lasted me a few years of everything from strapping to tree branches to wrapping around rocks underwater for the perfect shot. Its lightweight and super versatile. After a while the metal forms inside the rubber arms will tear the silicone and rust and eventually break off. But for the price and how long it lasted I wanted the same thing again. Good product, wish it were possible to make it last forever but if you use it a lot I guess that's what it is. Great product for the price, if you need to get unique shots this will help.

This is a most awesome idea - note that this comes with the gopro adapter - but it screws off to allow another camera to mount. I believe this tripod is best suited to something small (like the gopro - and possibly a phone). I love it. Everyone should have one - I have ordered 2 and I am going to order my third one soon!

Update: I have now had this great item for a week - and I find that it is super handy. I cannot say enough good things about it. A must.

Flawless product! No slip, great grip, easy to work with!

Product worked wonderfully! I used this mount with my Polaroid cube in a waterproof case. The mount fit perfectly with the cube and survived a 30 minute boat ride while we were on vacation. The camera did not slip one time and the swivel mount is a great feature. I would highly recommend this product to others, especially for the price! This product worked flawlessly!

My first GoPro accessory. This holds my GoPro in so many different places, a modern version of other fingered mount/holders. Not used it too many times yet, but so far, I like it! 😁🤪

Haven't used it in the field yet, but I ...

Haven't used it in the field yet, but I played with it enough that I'm sure it will do well with my iPhone 6, using one of the "camera" adapters I have for it that has a 1/4-20 threaded hole. I have a couple of small normal tripods that don't work as well, given the weight distribution. Since the Splat lies flat when not in use, I plan to keep it in a seat pocket in my car, handy when needed.
