Good light, poor workmanship for a $30 light.
by E. S. Funk (3 out of 5 stars)

I teach online using a video chat program and my director said that I did not have enough light on my face, so I purchased this. It is really bright, and it can be harsh on your eyes if not angled correctly. I do like that you can angle it 180 degrees. It's great as a keyboard light, which I have used it more for so as not to disturb my family when the rest of the lights are out. It also holds a charge, so you do not have to have it plugged in all the time, and it works well for traveling. It has two brightness settings as well.

As far as construction, here is the rub. I keep my light sitting on the top of my laptop, and it does not get moved unless I am taking my laptop somewhere. I went to plug it in after only a few months of ownership, and the mini USB outlet where it is plugged in to hold power had broken off into the unit. I contacted Amazon, who sent a replacement and I shipped it back to them. They sent a different color, but I did not care at this point. This unit has another issue: the on/off switch has a sensitive spot, and it I put the brightness all the way on, it turns off. There is something wrong with the switch unit where it must not be making contact. It has shotty construction that needs to be improved if they want someone to be able to recommend the product to others, especially at the $30 price tag.

Good for short video, too bright to use for long
by Gerri Detweiler (4 out of 5 stars)

Bought this for when I do live webinars and don't have access to good lighting. Compact, lightweight and convenient. Overall quite happy but it's so bright that it quickly gives me a headache. I hate to not give it a 5 star review because it does what it says it doe, but I do want to warn other that it's really only useful for short periods of time IMO.

Better Lighting for My Video Web Meetings
by Lady A (4 out of 5 stars)
March 28, 2017

I have to be on a lot of web-based video calls and needed better lighting.

I do like this light - here are some details:

PRO's: It hooks on very well to my laptop. It has 2 levels of brightness. Easy to charge.

CONs: It's not the best solution if you wear glasses as the light will reflect off the lenses. Solution: I don't wear my glasses. The light will be unbalanced because it sits on one side of the camera lens. Solution: I might buy a second one to put on the opposite side. Double the $ for having to buy 2 (but that's my preference for even more light).

Overall - I would have given it 4.5 stars - minus .5 because I will buy another one to balance out the lighting.

Very very disappointing.

It will not charge and after 30 days I can't return it. I was out of town so I couldn't even start to charge it until today. After 12 hours-- still not charged. You either stand behind your product or you don't. Obviously, you don't. Very very upset

Not the worst
by Frances (3 out of 5 stars)

Works okay. I do a lot of video/virtual instruction at work and bought this for that purpose. The light sometimes gets in the way of the camera lens and if your laptop has an old school plastic clasp/clip thing, it's tricky aligning the light to be center.

Super hard on the eyes too. To bad couldn't develop something less harsh that shined ffrom the sides of the screen like the Lumee. Difficult to "make eye contact" aka look into camera.

LED shines in your eyes, if you adjust you arent lit for video.

Does not light you with a professional look like the video suggests with a laptop. Light shines directly into your eyes while your trying to look at camera. Would work better as a tool to light your keyboard when working on a plane.

Love the concept; disappointed with the results
by Robbin Gosline (3 out of 5 stars)

Chatlight I bought two ... one as a gift. I love the concept but it has not been as wonderful as I had hoped. If your phone has a case on it... then the Chatlight does not fit without constantly removing the case. I was also disappointed that I have used it on 3 different occassions for a total 1:30 minutes and the light is completely dead and needs to be charged
