I purchased this item in August for a gift for my daughter. I recently gave it to her and it worked for one hour tops. Itr will not charge it will not turn on and even though I purchased the protection plan, I am told I have no recourse. This is a travesty!!!

Nice product once you figure it out!

So far impressed with product! At first set up with iPhone was easy. Then tried watching YouTube and Netflix with no luck due to website restrictions. Followed instructions on Amazon that the company said to do update on projector. After update I am able to watch YouTube. Still could not stream movies in Netflix. Figured out key is to download the Netflix movie in the app then play it from there. Works awesome, can't wait to see my daughters face Christmas morning! Picture quality is pretty good, obviously the darker the room, the better the picture.

Questionable

Haven't been able to get it to project stuff from my iPhone 6s+ The control panels on the top are much more usable if you go over them lightly with a black magic marker to make the symbols visible.

Maybe other folks have gotten it to work, check their reviews as well.

DISAPPOINTED

So disappointed by this product! From the beginning there were major errors. I am a proficient Apple user and never got the airplay working to stream from my comp. OK FINE so I move on from that feature because obviously I've troubleshooted it and can't solve the problem. Now after only a month or two of using it (about 5 times) it just freezes up with the SD card and I cannot watch more than 5 seconds of any movie file. Also - that reset button is tiny! I can't tell if anything is happening when I press it! No manual or help anywhere to be found online. If it just FUNCTIONED at all it wouldn't be that bad of a product. But I'm in shock with how bad this thing is... posting here because I'm hoping to get some response back! Potential buyer - choose a more reliable brand like Epson for a projector. Skip this one!

Amazing tiny projector.

EVERYTHING about this unit was really great except the 80 lumens brightness rating. 80 lumens is higher than most of the other pico projectors so I thought I would be ok for group presentations. Unfortunately I learned that "pico" projector really means that they need to be relatively close to the wall or screen to get high quality pictures.

Great in theory...in practice, however

Was very excited to use this. Had grand ideas of watching movies and sporting events on the biggest wall possible in my house...

Good news first: Getting online- easy. Navigation- easy. Connecting to WiFi -slightly annoying to use up and down arrows to type in a strong password. Using Airplay to look at the photos on your phone- very easy. When in focus, it's very bright and clear. That's the end of the good news.

Bad news:

The device is so tiny that to focus you need to use one hand on the focus dial and the other to prevent your focusing from knocking the whole thing over. Easy to get in focus but the moment you move both hands away, it pops back out of focus- the focus dial is apparently spring loaded. If you're willing to hold it in focus for a movie this isn't a problem...except no method of streaming movies to the projector (Airplay or Chromecast) worked. Mirror your phone/tablet screen- yes. Cast your movie? No. Even put a movie on the included SD card so no WiFi was involved - no dice. The card worked fine to play the clip on my laptop.

This had such great potential but unless you only want to watch mobile phone length clips, skip this projector.

Good but not quite good enough
by Susan E (3 out of 5 stars)

This is a good little gadget. Cute as a button, lots of nice touches. The bendy tripod is great, and the projector connects well with most any device. I bought it to use at work, as an alternate mobile projector when all the big ones are in use. It's good but not great. I can get a clear focus for most purposes (documents, spreadsheets, anything with Ariel 10 or more. The toolbars are not readable.), but the focus doesn't seem to hold. I have to keep refocusing, which is annoying because the focus wheel is on the side of the projector and every time you adjust the focus the picture bobs around until you stop touching it. I have used it in a regular office with large windows and the overhead lights turned off. In these conditions it is bright enough to see but dim enough that you wouldn't want to look at it for a long time. For some weird reason, it is much clearer and brighter when I point it at the ceiling than when I point it at the wall. Videos look pretty good on it, and you would normally be in a dimmer room anyway. I was surprised that there is a speaker. It's not much good, though. I haven't figured out how to turn it off yet. No good if you want to have multiple people take turns sharing their screen.

Great Product (So Tiny)

I wanted a projector and I don't want to spent much on it and I found the DLP Pico projector. There are quite a other products and I went with this as its stylish and so tiny. Tripod is small, might purchase a better one but still its good what it comes with the box. Picture clarity is good with high resolution source.

I would expect three more features with this, a HMDI port and a remote and keystone.

You need wifi to project wirelessly, there is few secs lag at times and I lose some portion of secs at times, out of 1Hr atleast I could see 15 lags.

When I use SD card, it works great no lag.

With sound output, I was able to connect to external speaker and nice to hear.

Its little difficult to adjust use the button once the video is setup since the product itself tiny. Again might need to set/adjust the picture, that gave me little head ache.

Works great in dark room not recommended for day light.

Overall for a outdoor and travel a small good product. Again a HMDI port, remote and keystone would made this product much greater!

Especially important info for iOS and Apple owners

For the first hour I loved this product. There would seem to be a lot to love so ill start with the good.

First, it's incredibly, adorably small and the feature set seems almost impossible with such a tiny foot print. Given its size, the picture is pretty darn bright, as much as you can hope for from something so tiny. The WiFi works great including the 5Ghz. The built in speakers were louder than expected and I could see using them in a tent for example. It comes with everything you could need such as an 8GB memory card and even a nifty little tripod.

Now for the bad. The focus wheel is so floaty as to make it almost impossible to keep in focus. In hours of testing I found that it worked if the unit was angled slightly down but when angled up it would quickly fall out of focus. When I played a video too loud the little (robust) speakers would often shake the unit enough to change the focus and make the video unwatchable.

Now for the really bad. This should clear up some of the confusion that's been described in various comments about the Airplay capabilities of this projector Some background, I am an IT consultant specializing in Apple and I even worked for Apple back in the early 90s. The implementation of Airplay that is included on this projector is open source and not the full licensed version that would probably push the price of this up by another $50 or more. What this means is that you can certainly mirror your basic iOS and Apple devices such as Safari, maps, iPhoto etc. However Apple implemented specific DRM (digital rights management) that prevents many third party Airplay receivers from viewing copyrighted material. In practical terms this means Netflix, Amazon Video, iTunes movies, and any other app that has restricted material will not stream to this projector. So if you intend to watch a movie from any major streaming service this will not work. Even if you have the content downloaded on your device it will not work.

So I have to ask, if there is no HDMI input and almost every movie rental service will not stream to this unit, how useful is it?
