Don't be dumb and this shouldn't fail you.

80lbs Doberman ripped out staked down carpet, chewed on cable, broke everything within reach, but the orange screw stayed in place. Only thing that was unexpected was that it's plastic! I wasnt expecting that. And yes, if you try to bend it by hand it does have some give so if you don't screw it down all the way I can potentiality see it breaking. I saw one review with picture where it was broken in half. There's no way it could break in half if it's screwed in all the way. It would've have broken at the top. Let's get real here people. Also people complain about it not working after the soil gets too wet. Why stop there? Why no give it 1 star if it doesn't hold in water?

The Best Ground Stake There Is
by Hillbilly (5 out of 5 stars)

If you have been looking for the absolute the best ground anchor for tents/tarps/pets/children/awnings/rafts/horses, look no farther. As a background, I've spent years camping throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons as a commercial river guide, both here in the US and across the globe, and one of the major headaches is not being able to secure the guests tents and/or the group rain/shade tarps because of weak stakes that bend or pull out. After trying the MSR groundhog stakes, steel horse anchors, and every variation of the ground stake thereof, I purchased this screw because a friend who knows my frustrations recommended I try it as it worked for them.

Simply said, this is the best ground stake imaginable. It works in every soil type I have found other than solid rock and cannot be pulled out (you have to unscrew it from the ground). I have screwed it into rocky soil when literally every other tent stake other people were using bent rather than go into the ground. I've also had it hold in 50+ MPH wind when the nylon tarp tore in half (It was not that windy when the tarp was set up the night before).

I don't review many things on amazon as I'm often underwhelmed by their real-world performance. The orange screw, however, is everything it claims. I now own 4 of the large and 8 small and I cannot recommend them enough. You will not suffer bent tent stakes or have the situation where a stake pulls out. These are amazing. Buy more than you think as you will find a use for them.

In beach sand to hold down a shelter or an unbrella it's amazing how strong it is ! The clear tube is nice to hold it when not in use and also keeps the tip from poking you, also funneling as a handle to screw in to the dense more packed ground its a very well thought about product !! I have 4 total and it's really amazing . They don't pull out in sand and hold really well ! I also used in inside of grass and wow it will hold what ever you can send it's way . GreT to take with u when the dog needs to be tired up for a bit and there are not any anchors near by !

Highly recommend

Only cons: plastic pipe that comes with is not very strong and could be built a little bit better

Does the job

We purchased these to use at the beach. It took a few attempts but we finally figured out a way to keep the pups from pulling it up out of the sand. The truck was to dig a hole, twist the Orange Screw deep into the sand and then bury it with heavy wet sand. We also sat our cooler on top just to be sure we weren't going to be chasing our dogs down the beach. With some creative usage this served our purpose! We have not used these on harder ground yet, but plan to in our upcoming camping trip. I feel like these will work great in more solid ground so I don't anticipate any problems!

My 55lb lab mix pulled it right out of the sand...had to bury it even deeper
by craig (3 out of 5 stars)

Bought this for my 1.5 yr old 55lb lab mix at the beach....the turning "tube" worked great and I decided to leave it in/on (like a T shape) after rotating it all the way down (4-6in below the surface of the sand (soft/not packed)) for what I thought would be added stability......it worked great for my pup "thinking" something was holding her down for 2 hours, then another dog walked by and she did two small tugs and out it came right out! She didn't realize it and we got her before she took off, but she could've been running around with a sharp object flying all over the beach.

I decided to try it out again as I was determined, so I dug a hole about 10-12in down, left the tube on and even filled it with sand "for stability," attached the lead, then buried the whole thing with sand. It seemed to have done the trick, but she didn't have much tugging after that anyways.

Essentially, I really wish this was at least 6 inches longer, it would probably be perfect and I would be the first one to try it out! (it seems like it would be a pretty good tie down for a yard/hard ground)

Worked like a charm. I was worried that it was not long enough & I should have bough the 18", but all is well. I used it on Topsail Island, NC. My 75lb dog was kept in place & out of a stranger's face.

Highly recommend!

Great for anchoring personal watercraft!!
by ForkLemons (5 out of 5 stars)
December 12, 2017

I love this for tying up my personal watercraft at night. I have anchor bags that I anchor the watercraft to during the daytime when we are playing at the lake. In the evening, I leave the watercraft anchored to the anchor bags but I tie up the rear of the PWC to this on shore to make sure they stay put. It works great. As some have noted it doesn't work too well in sand but I mostly use it in hard dirt.

It also stores very well in my watercraft's storage bin so I don't forget it.

Good enough

I broke one off right at the eye to screw part simply screwing into the ground and using the provided tube. Amazon replaced quickly without question only needing to send back the broken one, it shouldn't happen at all. I also have some shorter ones and wouldn't get those again. Gotta go with the biggest ones if you want to feel solidly in the ground for bungees tying down a canopy.

Strong anchor for big dogs

This product works! I have a 50 lbs husky/Shepard who loves to pull. This has held him really well. You have to make sure to really get this in the ground but once you do it will work really well. It has a great round loop at the top to hook up any leash. I currently have a 25 ft leash on there that is working really good.

This will break

Snapped on first use and my dog only weighs 45 lbs.

Was really easy to use and protable great size for travel i was excited and chose to use it over my metal one i purchased as well.

Hooked up 2 dogs a corgi 27lbs but isn't a puller and my boxer 45 lbs. And she snapped the head off this thing at ground level.

Get the metal one guys better to have one bend or deform instead of become useless at first use
