This speaker is about 7.5 inches long, 2 inches wide from (front to back) and stands about 2.5 inches off the table top. The listing notes that it is driven by 3W speaker output, and that seems about right with what we experienced. It plays music from a direct 3.5mm Aux cable connection to your music player, via a Micro-SD card, from a USB connection or via a Bluetooth connection.... and it has an outbound 3.5mm headphone jack too (kinda unique for speakers)

The sound we experienced was good; the trebles and mids come through nicely, while the bass range was fairly muddled. The speaker did respond OK to my equalizer application which pulled out the mids & highs pretty well, but even with the speaker's volume cranked up and our phone pushing out max, it produced volume that was limited by the 3W driver and it lose separation when pushed hard.

Given its size (noted above) and its weight, about 10 ounces per our postal scale, calling this a "portable" speaker is correct in the sense that you can pack it up and take it with you in your bag or backpack, but not in your jacket or pants pocket.

The phone I used to direct connect (3.5mm Aux cable) and Bluetooth connect was our HTC Droid DNA with its Beats Audion program. Pairing via Bluetooth was quick and easy, and we had Pandora pumping through the speaker in a matter of seconds. The only challenge we saw was the noted 3W limited volume and bit of muddiness in the sound at higher volumes.

As for the FM radio option... there is no display to tell you what frequency you are on so it's just a guessing game. Wish there was a display to help out... we fiddled with it for 5 or 10 minutes with a little success.

The speaker was easy to pair, produces acceptable sound, and accepts a good number of input sources. If you are looking for a speaker of this output, function, size, style and construction, for use as I have described above, then we would recommend giving this speaker a try based on our experience with it so far.

Nice Sounding Speaker Lacking In Bass

This is a nice, compact speaker that produces decent sound for its size. As with pretty much all speakers this size the amount of bass here is minimal. To produce bass a speaker has to move air and small speakers just don't move a lot of air.

The mid-range and high-end are clear and perfect for listening to music or voice-centered content at a medium volume level. Both male and female vocalists sounded natural here and music sounded vibrant except for the minimal bass.

One thing I'd like to point out is that the bottom of the speaker has 4 small pads to keep it secure on a flat surface while it is in operation. There is actually a slick plastic covering that has to be peeled away to get to the sticky pads. This is not obvious and before removing them the speaker was moving around at higher volumes.

The controls work as they should and pairing with my phone was quick and easy. There is an FM radio built into the device but there is no LED display to know what channel you are trying to tune-in. If it was not for another reviewer I'd have had no idea that you need to plug in the 3.5mm cable provided into the AUX jack to use it as an antenna for the FM feature.

The device will play a simple playlist from a USB or memory card which is a cool addition to Bluetooth and there is also an AUX jack if you want to play content from another device.

Overall this is a nice little speaker that sounds good but is a bit limited when it comes to the bass response. Recommended.

There was no guarantee card like it says

I saw the rating between 4 and 5 and bought it. When I got it, I was shocked: there was no manual but a tiny 2"x2" piece of paper with 2 or 3 point font. Impossible to read. There was no guarantee card like it says.

Google search "onson bluetooth speaker manual" came up nothing

I got back to Amazon to check the review again. This time, I made sure the filter "verified purchase only" on: voila. it is totally empty. All 17 reviews are unverified, bogus. I've been had.

Oh well, it wasn't worth my time to return this for just $35. I searched and found this: [...]

made by Dongguan Taide... I guess ONSON is just a name to sell OEM products for DTI. In any case, I figured out how to use it and it was just OK. The only reason I keep it is that it is not worth the hassle. I don't recommend it.

Compact and lightweight, Good sound output, Decent battery life.

Dislikes:

No base, short Bluetooth range.

For the price it is worth buying if it's used indoors and if you keep in charged and stay close to it.

While nice sounding by itsellf, I use it to interface the Blue Tooth signal from my IPhone 7 to my home stereo system using the headphone output..

It's ok. The call part isn't very clear or loud enough to use. It didn't come with a power box just a cable so I had to buy one. The sound is clear and if you have nothing running near it (garage ) it is loud. But not recommended if you intend to use just for the garage.

I did receive this Blue Tooth speaker in exchange for a review but no hyperbole or BS with any of my reviews. I have now reviewed far too many BT speakers and earbuds to recall and definitely some are more worthwhile than others while many are the same speaker under a different company name.

This speaker is certainly unique in its futuristic appearance and came in battleship gray along with its charging cable. The case is made from a decent quality plastic that is quite smooth. Be careful it doesn't slip from your hands and break on the sidewalk or other hard surface.

Pairing and connecting was ultra easy to do with my iPod as are most BT speakers I have tested.

The transient response of the speaker for any type of music is really excellent. I did test it using classical music, some drum jazz solos, blues and ZZ Top rock and was decently impressed.

The frequency response of this speaker was better than most, but like most BT speakers, there is a limit to how low the bass is permitted to reproduce. Actually, I have yet to find a BT speaker capable of really deep bottom end reproduction but this speaker is better than most. It can get to a pretty good sized volume without distortion and that is a definite plus to consider.

It will hold its charge for a many hours of play and the recharge was typical for all BT speakers, no more but a bit less. You are advised to fully charge the speaker before using it the first time even though it came charged.

I did not test it using it in phone mode but according to other reviews I have read, it does a quality job on that as well.

I suppose it really deserves 5 stars however, I am in search of those that can get great bass reproduction but that is a Quixotic search.

Yep, I would recommend this speaker as it is superior to a great many others in its price range.

This "ONSON" Bluetooth Speakers, Portable Wireless Stereo Speaker Powerful Sound with Enhanced Bass, Support Hands-free USB TF Card FM Radio, for iPhone, iPad, Samsung, Android and More is a nice sounding bluetooth speaker, with a great looking design. It also has a built in FM tuner. Paring was simple and the FM tuner is easy to use. Simply press the M button to switch to FM mode and then hit the play button to auto scan the channels once that completes then you can use the forward and rewind buttons to skip through the stations. Music control works great while on Bluetooth and Phone Calls also sound crisp and clear. For the price point, this is a deal you can't miss out on.

I love a company that actually listen to their customers.

Packaged really well and it arrived the second day.
