Rex tested. Rex approved !!!
by Cathy Wartman (5 out of 5 stars)

Hi my name is Rex and I'm a black lab. I LOVE to play ball in our huge backyard. Dad is a great ball thrower but Mom well she throws like a girl (don't tell her I said that or no more cookies and I love cookies as much as I love playing ball). So one day mom was crusin' Amazon and found this K9 ball shooter. She ordered it along with a bag of (I'm so excited) Tennis Balls. She knew when there were going to arrive (I don't know how she does that) but she told me to wait by the front door for the brown truck because the man in the brown truck was bring me two boxes with smiles on them. Sure enough he pulled up in front of our house and out came 2 boxes!!! Mom opened the first one and "ok box of balls come on lady I know what to do with those", then she open up the second box and pulled out what looked to be well I was stumped and Rex is never stumped. After mom took it out of the package we went out. Mom shouted come on Rex lets play ball. OK I'll let her "throw" the ball. So I sat next to her because she made my ball disappeared into this machine, cracked it back and shot it over the shed-45 ft. WOW!!! Mom can throw better than dad. All afternoon we played ball, mom was getting tired but not me. Then Dad came home and mom handed him the blue and orange gun and said "Good Luck" oh how we played until dark. It was the best day ever. I was so tired I went to bed and slept all night till it started to get light out again. So I went in the bedroom to wake up Mom and when she finally woke up she yelled "Rex it's only 5am we're not playing ball at 5am! Guess I shouldn't have dropped the ball on her head. To all my dog buddies out there get owners to by this. It's the best darn toy I ever got but I gotta warn you be prepared to get yelled at cause you'll want to keep playing and the humans that only have to sit in the chair and pull the trigger will always get tired first.

A Border Collie Obsessed
by LeeLee Stramer (5 out of 5 stars)

This is our second Nerf Dog Gun in as many years. We have a seven year old Border Collie who just cannot get enough playtime, inside or out! He literally wore the first one out as it was his absolute favorite toy, so you can imagine how excited he was when our UPS driver (aka "The Cookie Man") delivered his new one!!! He's completely obsessed with it to the point that we have to hide it when not in use... It's a great toy, very sturdy and very easy to use indoor or outside. This model is a bit more compact than our last one, and we are pleasantly surprised at how much more control it offers. Elvis is definitely a fan and once again, this launcher has become his all time favorite toy!!!

I was hooked on these ball blasters until they kept breaking (the rubber band part would eventually give out and it's broken). I changed to the CHUCK IT.... those won't break on you and the ball goes further....so maybe look at those as well!!!

Great ... while it lasts
by 4K Home (2 out of 5 stars)

The blaster is great - it shoots reasonably far (and with a little extra 'push' as you fire it it fires even farther), the handle is ergonomic compared to other cheaper ones (after 50+ shots this matters on your grip hand), it's easy to pick up a ball since the end grabs it and then you just have to 'rack' it forward and back, and the balls that come with it have a great bounce.

So why two stars? Because this is the third one I've had to buy in 6 months -- the rubber bands in the blaster snap after a while. Maybe I'll count just how many shots this one goes through before I have to get another .. but at $20+ I would hope this lasted a little longer than 2-4 months.

Much better than others that have a long, thin barrel
by DenSanAZ (5 out of 5 stars)

This is a great device for playing ball with dogs. For those of us who can't throw, for whatever reason, this thing really shoots a ball quite a distance. The only negative is the balls that come with it: they're really lightweight, soft, and my 65lb dog will have one de-felt and ripped into tiny rubber pieces within minutes. Regular tennis balls work great.

This is my 2nd Blaster, the first snapped a rubber band but only after several years of a fair amount of use.

We do have another shooter, different design, and it's long and awkward to carry to the park. The Nerf Blaster has a shorter barrel and it's easier to carry around. It may be difficult for smaller children to "arm" the Blaster, it does take a bit of strength to pull the "arming mechanism" into place.

I love this, the dog loves it, and she gets a great workout.

Won't buy another Nerf.

Very disappointed. Purchased the Nerf Dog Tennis Ball Blaster September 1st. My dog loved it. I even posted on Facebook how great it was, and it was... for 3 days. Now, nothing. The launching mechanism is locked up, and I'm back to throwing my arm out. My son says he'll take a look at it to see if he can fix it, but come on, Nerf. Three days? Heckuva price to pay for 3 days.

If you own german shepards this blaster is a must. Keeps them happy and healthy chasing those balls everyone. We have a large male and a even larger female, ll0 pounds each, they love to see this toy emerge.

Don't waste your money on this!

If I could, I'd give this a "0" rating. My dag Max is a Belgian Malinois and he LOVES playing fetch with a tennis ball. This contraption, that was advertised as shooting a "regular size tennis ball" up to 50 yards, maybe reached, brand new - out of the box, 25 yards - at best (and that was pulling the shooter back to full strength). The balls that come with the product, are NOT regular size tennis balls; they are just a tad smaller meaning that the fit of a regular size tennis ball is just too tight for the toy. On top if that, after 4 retrievals, Max had already broken the inner shell of one of the balls supplied with the toy. In comparison: a regular tennis balls lasts up to a week with him. This toy is junk folks!

This is a great product, and will provide hours of active fun and bonding time between your dogs and family. Easy for kids to use to shoot a ball into the moderate distance or up in the air for the dog to fetch. Can even use it as a game if you have two dogs and have then fetch! It is easy to use, and has a clear label to not look into the barrel, so please follow this advice! All in all, heartily recommended.
