The product is cool but flimsy

The product is cool but flimsy, does not retain air, and is kind of a pain in the butt. Cooks food though, and very packable.

Doesn't get as hot as I thought it would.

I got this for under $30 but I see the price has jumped back up. At that price it is worth it, but not just under $130 which it is now selling for. The reflective material and clear plastic are very thin, I had watched a Cantina West Youtube video so I knew before hand what to expect. It took about 7 minutes to inflate the cooking chamber and I will confess that I was extra cautious based on the Cantina West experience where they seemed to have over inflated it and it developed a leak. Now when it comes to inserting the straw, do not insert in the white plastic part, insert before this, I thought the white plastic portion marked the opening, it does, but it comes in two pieces (they should have sealed the top of this) so when you try to put in the straw it doesn't go in more than 1/4", do not try to force it, remove the straw and try the next opening. The kit comes with the solar cooker with string attached, a plastic pump (not sure how long this will last since it seems to be a cheap plastic), a WAPI indicator, a black metal pot with silicone cover which fits inside the pot, two oven bags, two plastic ties, four plastic bags to be used as weights, instruction sheets, cooking tips, plastic straw to use with pump. I tried this in Jamaica on a balcony and compared the temperature with that of a home made solar box oven and the solar box oven reached 200F in a shorter time than this, in fact this only reached 200F after 1 hour and 6 minutes (I put in an oven thermometer in the black pot). I don't think I have the pitch right but it's a breezy day and I had to use the plastic bags filled with water as weights and the width of the balcony restricts the width. Now for the plastic bags to use as weights - I pulled off the label and in doing so one of the bags developed a hole which I discovered when I filled with water! You can use stone or sand with these it seems, but I did as Cantina West did and used water.

I had my family over for father's day and decided to try out my new solar cooker. The entire experience setting it up and cooking was super fun! We all had a great time and got to enjoy some food made by the suns energy!! I highly recommend getting a Silver Balloon Solar Cooker for a fun new way to experience cooking. My wife and I are excited to take it with us on our next camping trip to cook up some great food outdoors.
