With the introduction of the RC Surfer 3, Kyosho continues to expand beyond conventional RC, and joins forces with Lost, the largest surfboard manufacturer in the United States. Matt “Mayhem” Biolos developed the unique graphics for the board, and combined with Kyosho' s decades of experience in the category, it should prove to be quite a ride. The RC Surfer 3 “Lost” Edition features a self-righting “hull” design (surfboard) emblazoned with the unique Lost graphics developed by Mayhem for this special project. Includes a new RC surfer dude, a water-prood surfboard with awesome Lost graphics, a brushed electric motor speed control, battery and charger are included, and it's got a high-tech 2.4 GHz radio system to stay cool and remain in control. My son said it slower than he expected amd that you have to purchase a very expensive booster for it to be able to really work well. It was already pricey..so we wont be doing that..

It's way too fragile almost like egg shells

I received the first one with one of the surfers arms broken. Sent it back with no problem. Received the second one and the first time out on the first small wave (2 feet) the surfers leg and one arm broke off. It's way too fragile almost like egg shells. I would have sent it back but the time had expired by one day. It was a waste of $240.00

Didn't even get a wave. Both arms broke instantly as a tiny wave went over it.

Love my RC surfer. Took it to a river and it was awesome. Steers great. I did use a 2s Lipo, i had great luck with a team associated wolf pack hard case, my others wouldnt fit. I reinforced the limbs of the guy so I had no issues. Well, out of the box one limb was dangling, I contacted the hobby shop website just to let them know of the issue, they must have gotten in touch with Kyosho America, and a new surfer dude arrived in the mail. That tells me they stand behind their products and service like that makes me happy. Haven't needed to use the replacement guy yet.

Fun but a pain..

It's a fun toy but problems, the seal under the deck where you screw on leaks saltwater and that gets into engine and other parts. It stopped working, burned out. Kyosho gave me a new one but I would not recommend this. Too many problems for 10 mins of fun follow by disaster. The surfer is very brittle and broke an arm off after first use.

Small wave fun!!

When the waves are too small to surf, this thing is the next best thing. People will complain it's not fast enough, but it's plenty fast for catching waves. Any faster and you'd out run the wave. The only negative is it goes through the stock battery fast. I have extra batteries from my RC cars so it's not a big deal. This thing is a lot of fun riding tubes with.
