Product Description

A cat door that is cute & easy to install, too! Keep kids and dogs out of the litter and cat food without restricting kitty's access to other rooms. This interior cat door installs quickly & has a lifetime guarantee.

If you're a cat, the other side of any door is where you want to be - especially if that's where the food and litter are. When you share a house with a dog or young kids, though, unrestricted access can be a problem. After all, there's nothing tastier to a dog than some kitty kibble.

The answer? A cat-only opening, cleverly installed into an interior door, which lets kitty pass through while keeping toddlers and dogs out. Your Purrfect Portal cat door installs in minutes on any style of door - both hollow-core or solid - with just a jigsaw and a screwdriver. It includes self-drilling screws (no flimsy tape or glue like some models use) for a more secure mount, and a handy template to make cutting the opening a breeze. Best of all, it's large enough to allow even chubby kitties of up to 18 pounds easy access, but still small enough to keep curious kids and dogs out. It's ideal for installing anywhere in the house your cat wants to go, such as basement, bedroom, laundry, or bathroom doors.

Exclusive cat silhouette design
White molded plastic

Gotta give it 5 stars. It gave us the ability to place the litter box in our shoe closet. The install went down with out a hitch. One suggestion: place the door traffic side down so the jigsaw vibrates on the non-traffic side. There was some paint rubbed off during the process. Nothing drastic...purely cosmetic. Our kitten used the hole the second the door was re-hung and even before his box was placed inside.

Very satisfied.

Installed super easy. Took less than 10 mins from the time I took off the door till the time I put it back on.

I have a French bulldog pug mix, he's about 30 lbs. I picked this cat hole since it's more oval shaped, not as tall as others. My puppy cannot get through here and doesn't even try. He only likes to look through it to look downstairs. Our cats can easily get in here, quickly when needed too.

Stencil made it easy to place this. I expected more trouble but honestly it was easier than expected. My first cut worked and there is no wobble or tight spots. The plastic itself is nice, Does not feel cheap. Looks rather easy to clean too if it gets dirty.

Awesome, even for scaredy cats.

I bought this for two reasons, 1. I have twins babies who will not stop playing with the cat water, food and litter pan. Now the cats can go in and out of the laundry room as they wish and I can leave the door shut. 2. I have a cat that is terrified of new things, a door flap would've been an issue for her and this model does not have a door flap.

Installation: I had my Dad come over and install it, he used a jigsaw and he said it was easy. Package came with a stencil for the cut.

Experience so far: It took some coaxing but the cats started using it the first day. It's so freaking cute to look at, that I didn't mind putting a hole in my door. My fat cat (18lbs) fits through no problem.

Cute as the dickens... but...

My cats love it and fit through it fine. We put ours in the kitchen door that goes to the basement, where their litter boxes are. But sometimes, if you have workmen over all day, you need your cats to STAY in the basement where they will be safe and out of the way, with access to their boxes, and... now there's a hole in the door with no flap or locking cover of any kind. So you have to resort to attaching a piece of cardboard over the hole with painter's tape. A hassle, and the cats can work at the tape or head-butt their way out pretty easily. If you need your cat door to keep cats in occasionally as well as let them pass through, you should take that into consideration before buying this door. If it had included some kind of optional way to block it shut, I would have given this six stars out of a possible five, for the cuteness factor. We get a lot of compliments on it.

Easy to install and looks great!

Our 20 month-old son learned how to open the gate to the basement. Now we can leave the door shut and not have to worry about our cats. One cat is short and fat and the other tall and skinny, they run in and out without any problems.

We installed this on an interior hollow core door. Installed easily in less than 30 minutes. Looks great and works well for our 10 pound cat. It would easily work for a large cat as well.

What a great thing this is! I didn't like the look of the "flap" doors, or the thought of cutting a hole in the middle of the door, so I was glad to have found this.

Our cat, Nightmare, had no problems figuring out how to use it. We now have his food and litter box tucked out of sight, and we love it (he does too)! We installed it a couple of weeks ago, and have been pleased ever since. We enjoy watching Nightmare emerge from his "hole"...

If I have a "negative" comment, it's that I think the portal could be a little taller in the middle, but it doesn't seem to be a problem for Nightmare. It causes him to arch his back to go under, but cats do that stuff anyway, so it's probably more of an issue to me. And maybe he's just a tall cat...

The installation was relatively simple, and straight-forward. I started my installation process by marking a light "x" in pencil at the bottom of the door, approximately where the cut would be made, before proceeding with step 1. This made certain that I was cutting the correct edge of the door. I followed the rest of the instructions exactly as written, and had the door removed, cut, and replaced in under an hour. It probably could have been done a bit more quickly, but I like to take my time so I don't mess it up.

One more thing...if you follow what I did, and mark an "x" at the bottom of the door, open the door and mark the interior (not usually visible) side of the door, then proceed with hinge pin removal per the instructions. Lay the door on a work surface with the "x" facing up prior to cutting, and the door will be oriented correctly for installation of part A. If the exterior side of the door is facing up for the cut, you'll have to flip the door to complete the installation sequence. Not a big deal, just a step to improve efficiency, and prevent having to flip the door more than once.

I would recommend this to anyone who has a cat inside the house.

Awesome cat portal

We call this our cat portal and love the look! It is a great size for our cats. Even better, i found it very easy to install. The trace was a great idea and directions were right on. Only thing I'd do differently would be to run the jigsaw up from each side, ending at the top of the head. Positioning was awkward finishing up by working down.

I finally have privacy again!

For the last 20+ yrs, I've been a cat lover. I've also had to deal with keeping any and all doors between me and my cats open, or all heck will break loose. For the 10 yrs, this wasn't an issue, it wasn't until my son hit the age of 5 that I really, REALLY wanted the option to close my bedroom door, lol. Fast forward to about a year & a half ago, my parents got a golden retriever puppy who would not leave my cats alone while he visited my house. Since I took him every other week for my parents, separating the animals wasn't an option, they were going to have to learn to coexist. As I was online searching for various corralling options, I purchased 3 different baby/pet gates, I stumbled upon this cat portal. As soon as I laid eyes on it, church bells started ringing and my phone started glowing - I had found my solution to my nightmare, YES!! It gives my cats access to my room but prevents access to the dog and kid if I lock the door. I no longer have to worry about locking my cats in or out of my room because they can come and go as they please. No more incessant meowing or scratching at the door. This cat portal is a godsend, it's been so long I forgot how wonderful it is to have my door closed. I was a little worried not all of my cats would be able to use it, my male cat is a bit on the tubby side, and he's a big cat to begin with. Although his belly drags on the ground, he can still easily make it through the opening, I didn't have to purchase the extra large portal. It was worth every cent!

Cat loves it!

This door is the best! Found a similar one on Amazon, but it was $10 more for basically the same thing. Reviews were comparable too. I obviously went with this option instead. Directions are super simple and straightforward. I cut out the included template and my husband used a jigsaw to cut out the opening. Hardware (screws) were included. I think it took him about 30 minutes from start to finish. Door looks great and my cat loves it! It's a great escape for her to get away from my toddler when he gets a little loud/wild. She just hangs out on the top basement step - close to us, but safe and comfortable.
