Innovative Bug Repellant
by Hawkins' Corner (5 out of 5 stars)

This was a very innovative and needful tool for me seeing that I am in Houston, Texas. I just recently, as in today, got bit by a mass number of mosquitos. Since the weather here is up and down there is no telling when it will be cold or the mosquitos will come back. I didn't have this product with me, so I was not able to test it out as I wanted to. It has a retractable plug on the handle that can be used to charge it. It also comes with 3 switches: the on and off switch, switch for a flash light and a switch for the actual zapper. I do really like that there is a flashlight so if I want to use it at night, I can see what I am swinging at. It also comes with a a wristlet that you can attach to the zapper and carry around. It is a little smaller than a tennis raquet and very light. It does not come with any type of instructions, so I had to go to Youtube and other resources to figure out all of the buttons and how it worked.

And the winner is...
by Rogier F. van Vlissingen (5 out of 5 stars)

Since dealing with a fruit-fly infestation, I have now become expert at these rackets. This one is the clear winner among the ones I have owned, I currently have three, and I had another one before that and everything has it's pros and cons, but this one beats them all. One thing is, C-batteries instead of AA which some rackets use is an advantage, for they last longer. But the greater surface area, the strength of the shock and and the quality of the materials have quickly made this my favorite. I would say that with experience, I have about an 80% catch rate, and with some other rackets, sometimes the tiny fruitflies sail right through the mesh without getting caught, so my effective catch rate can be as low as 20%.

The only zapper that can touch fruit flies
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

I had a bout with flies where they seemed to be breeding someplace I couldn't find. There would be periodic swarms of baby "fruit flies" which would eventually turn into a lot of harder to catch adult flies. The usual mesh-style fly swatter wouldn't touch the tiny flies, but this one does. I put an end to it by killing them all while they were young, slow and stupid, often simply holding the racket over one that had landed and watching it fly into it.

Sometimes a single hit will kill a fly, and sometimes it will only stun it, requiring a swift followup. Because of this, it's best to hit the fly as slowly as you can manage so you can see where it lands, rather than trying to hit a home run. Unlike a traditional fly swatter, you can't slam this on the counter, and you can't stop the swing at the last minute without the fly getting away. There are couple of techniques to keep in mind. If a fly has landed on a flat space like a counter or cabinet, set the edge of the racquet down nearby. Swiftly slide the racquet at the fly. Often you can build up enough speed to catch the fly by the time it jumps.

You can also take a tip from the praying mantis. When a mantis stalks its prey, it sways to mimic the movement of a leaf blown by the breeze. This kind of motion doesn't alarm the fly, letting the mantis get close enough to strike. It works for the bug zapper as well. If a fly is sitting still, wave the racquet gently, imagining it is a branch blowing in the breeze. The fly will let you sneak the racquet close enough that you can catch it without swinging so fast that you risk smashing the zapper.

As the batteries run down it will gradually lose power, and even though it still zaps when it hits, it won't be delivering the strongest shock possible. Even if a fly is only stunned, it should still drop. If you zap a fly and it keeps going, change the batteries.

It actually works!
by Jason (5 out of 5 stars)

We bought two of these about a year ago, after having some of the cheap ones that never worked, and WOW!!! These things are the real deal! They are great in the early spring time when all of the queen wasps, yellowjackets, and baldfaced hornets are coming out to harass us, one swipe of this zapper and it's knocked out, then you can safely step on it, and prevent it from making a thousand other demons. These zappers work great for mosquitoes, flies and any other flying nuisance that you need to get rid of. I'm sure that this will upset all of the hippies out there, but life in the smoke filled basement of mommy and daddy's house is quite a bit less bug filled that out in the woods, so just take another puff, and calm down already. I highly recommend these zappers, yes, they are a bit more than others, but, they actually work! (unlike the cheap ones that I've tried)

Easy to use and gets the job done!
by ReviewGal78 (5 out of 5 stars)

In Oklahoma the flies are already in full force and driving me crazy!! This electric swatter is perfect, the kids love using it (and it's safe for them!) so they can help with fly control on the back porch while we cook out or inside even... which concerns me that we already have enough of them to have them inside!! I have a feeling there will be a lot of them around this summer and this is so easy to use that it will really be helpful on our patio. It is lightweight but sturdy, and seems to kill them on the first "swat" most of the time. If it doesn't it stuns them enough to get them easily afterwards. It's rechargeable and doesn't need batteries which I love. I also love not having to use chemical repellants or fly strips so this should be perfect for the summer! I am glad I finally tried one of these and this one does the job well. Very pleased!

UNSCREW Handle
by MysteryAuthor (4 out of 5 stars)
April 19, 2018

Before you can use this bug zapper, you have to charge it. The enclosed directions say "PUSH the entire plug out of the unit." What they mean is UNSCREW the HANDLE below the green band. I nearly got a hernia trying to push and pull it off, and could have damaged the unit. Finally I went back to the website pictures and noticed the screw threads. I hope this saves others some frustration. It's not unusual for imported goods to lack correct translations, but one can't always guess what they mean.

Perfect for the price

I've never had one of these but always wanted one. It seems any time I open my door to let in some fresh air for 5 min my place is flooded with bugs. I don't have a video of this is action because I did not want to go out and kill a bug just to show how it works. One thing I would say and I think it's personal preference but when you have the button switched to the on mode you have to press the button to have the red light illuminate to be in zap mode. I like this because of having kids around. Also I would hate to forget I have it on and pick it up myself. It has a flashlight also as you can see in the picture. It's a great size and it has a barrier on the outside so the electrical part isn't openly exposed. Probably my favorite feature is how it plugs right into an outlet to charge. It's lightweight and a decent size as you can see compared to my hand. I would buy this again and recommend to others.

Meh for flies, incredible for mosquitos
by Eugene Tackleberry (5 out of 5 stars)

For just flies, I would give it at best 3 stars. It's tough to get them in the open air, you can't swing hard at them around objects as you will break the swatter, or the objects. Plus it only kills the flies mabey half the time, otherwise they just get stunned for a second or two.

However, for mosquitos this thing is the best, and that's why I gave it 5 stars. I live in Florida where misquito season is like 9 months of the year, and i sit outside alot with my dogs, I've tried all kinds of things to keep the mosquitos away and nothing works, til now. After a few minutes outside swinging this thing the area becomes misquito free. Its pretty impressive. After that I just keep it near me for the stray ones that show up

Entertainment for me, husband loves it.

Personally a fly swattet is more effective, but my husband has killed two bugs so far and feels as if he is a mighty hunter. Seeing him try to kill bugs does make me wonder if his tennis skills are equally as terrible.

Awesome product. It works very effectively.

Awesome product. Works just as described ,looks just as pictured, works as expected ,very happy ,and unit is very powerful.

I waited a while to rate this, and want to tell the truth. So far, I have killed 70+ flying things in my house, it works on mosquitoes, flies, moths, bees and other flying critters.
It works very effectively, appears to be well made, and is reasonably priced.
I will be buying another as backup.

Nice product--Great service. I definitely recommend.

I Returned It
by Rose G. (1 out of 5 stars)
September 6, 2018

Garbage. I bought one of these after reading the reviews, assuming it may be hit or miss. Instructions came on 5x5 piece of paper, barely legible and in badly broken English. The plug was not polarized and would not stay in a wall plug or extension cord. Would not charge. What I was able to understand from the warnings was that this was more of an indoor device and not to be used outdoors as advertised. Refund was quick.
