Setup was easy and fast
by LC (1 out of 5 stars)

Setup was easy and fast. Within 5 minutes my lights were being turned on and off at the push of a button...BUT within 10 minutes the Flic fell apart.

There are two major design flaws with the Flic.

The first is that the locking device between the top and bottom is just a few millimeters long, this means almost any rotation when pushing the button will result in the whole thing falling apart. The company can easily fix this by making the two pieces thread together over a larger distance.

Second is the way the battery is stored. The tension bar that holds the battery in place is so weak that I was literally able to dislodge it by blowing at it.

The Flic was great for the 5 minutes that it worked for me, but there is NO WAY I could recommend this to anyone else.

Unreliable waste of money

Do not buy these if you are trying to use for home automation. Wink announced they could be used with the system, but they connect via Bluetooth through your phone, not the hub. They always say they are out of range. In order to use, you must have your phone right next to you. And if your phone has been sleeping, you must wake up your phone and open app to get them to connect. Why would I want to use these for home automation if I can just use my phone? Just not practical. Going back to Amazon.

Huge Disappointment. Pretty much requires the 150$ Hub
by Jacques (1 out of 5 stars)

The dirty little secret about this device is that it requires your phone to be nearby in order for the button to work... so if you are in a family and you go to work then all the buttons die .... Cmon !!! Of course you can buy a 150$ hub for your buttons to always work.

Also, the sonos control does not allow you to 'queue up' music like 'play your favorites' .. it can only control speakers that are currently queued up....

Hugely dissapointed...

It Does the Job

I took away one star only because it doesn't come with replacement stickers.

After 30 days: I took away another star because you need to buy a +$100 hub if anybody else wants to use the button. Your phone has to be in the room everytime you want to use the button. Without the hub, It works exactly like a toggle in your phone. If you're not going to buy the hub don't buy this one and create a toggle in your phone to do the same job.

Ok, if you don't consider 2 out of 3 working Ok.

Ok, if you don't consider 2 out of 3 working.

Used 1 with my Android phone. Works great!
2nd with a hub. Again, no problem.

The 3rd was used as a Find My Phone button for a iPhone. Worked for a few tries, then started turning red, which signifies a communication problem (phone was about 2 feet away from the button at the time). Re-Programmed it, worked again for 10 minutes, then red. Not sure if this is an iPhone issue, but not impressed.

Perfect solution
by Michael (5 out of 5 stars)

I have a bad habit of waking up and just...not getting out of bed on time. It makes me late for everything. I used Integromat and IFTTT to solve that problem. Thirty minutes after waking up, I have my bedroom lights flash and my phone ring every minute I'm still in bed. However, I needed something to signal that I actually did get out of bed. I put Flic on my fridge, way across my apartment, so that to stop the annoying flashing lights and phone calls, I had to physically get out of bed and press the button. It honestly works! It's a little expensive, but a really great solution.

Also, the button is smaller than expected. Not a bad thing, just something I noticed!

Bought for LIFX
by Caimen Dennis (4 out of 5 stars)
January 17, 2019

I bought the Flic button because LIFX does not have a native remote for their lighting. Set-up was very, very easy. It only took about 2 minutes. Overall, it works pretty well. There are times when there is a 2-3 second delay before the light come on.

I did not purchase the hub, so it works off of the wifi connection with my phone. Therefore, if I am not at home, no one can use the button. I will probably go back and purchase the hub later, but it would be nice if that was not a needed accessory.

Most awesome product
by Deeps (5 out of 5 stars)

I am totally satisfied with this product and have been using for a week with no any issues. Setup was very easy, just 1 minute. I am a iphone user. Iphone users needs to run the app in background and have bluetooth turned on.

You can almost control every IoT product thats available through the app or via IFTT. If you are a developer, You can trigger HTTP post/get calls with single click, double and hold. I really excited for their upcoming flic 2 but definitely this is also a killer if you compare the price.

If you do have technical knowledge and understand how IoT, IFTT and multiple platforms works, this is definitely made for you.

Have two in my house to control lights and volume ...
by Daniel Hooker (4 out of 5 stars)
December 17, 2017

Have two in my house to control lights and volume and one in my car. My only criticism is that they sometimes don't connect to my phone right away and I find myself using IFTTT for most things so they could expand what they can do natively.

Works perfectly and may be the best wifi light switch toggle available

The first thing you need to understand is that you need to have a hub that the Flic buttons talk to. For me it an old iPad that is the hub or you can buy a hub from Flic. I see a lot of low star ratings because people weren't aware of the hub requirement. I recommend using an old smartphone or tablet that you leave at home or buying the hub. The iPad I use sits at home to control Apple's Homekit as well.

The buttons have this great silicon feel and nice soft click. I haven't had one hiccup yet.
