Great Product, Poor Packaging, Small Talk Still Requiredby Jimmy Z (3 out of 5 stars)

The cards are great for dates. Most of the questions are thought provoking and a great way to get to know someone, even yourself.
Despite the name, SMALL TALK IS STILL REQUIRED. Unless you're a therapist, asking these personal questions right off the bat to strangers can make them feel uncomfortable (or make you look like a creep, especially if you're a guy). Use your best judgment to work these questions into a conversation to get things going.
As you can see from the photo, it's easy to take 1/4 of them to a party since they're smaller than business cards.
My biggest detractor is the packaging. Even when I used a credit card to gently pry open the box, the flap still ripped. I now use a rubber band to hold them together, making the cards look cheap. For $24, you'd think more time was spent on presentation and quality.
Not a waste, but not worth it

Pretty underwhelming. About half the questions are interesting/thought provoking, the other half are...meh. Some could start some interesting conversation, but my wife and I flew through about half the the stack because the questions were either...
A) not especially interesting or
B) too easy to give a short answer to, thus engendering very little actually conversation.
For the money, I don't think this was a total waste, but definitely not worth it either. You can get your paws on any number of really cheap (<$1) paperback books that have...
A) more questions than this set of tiny cards includes and
B) better, more thoughtful provoking or unique questions than this set of tiny cards includes.
"The Book of Questions" and the "If..." series come immediately to mind as better options (in my opinion).
Not what I was expecting.

There are about 15 really good cards that lead to deep comversations but the rest are pretty generic so we skip them. Also, the package is really small. I was expecting at least the size of a deck of cards but they're about half the size.
Very happy!

I have had the pleasure of meeting Kalina, the creator of Big Talk, and learning about the movement. My passion is something I have labeled "human connection through vulnerability", so I was instantly intrigued by the many facets of Big Talk. I actually can't believe that it has taken me this long to purchase the card game.
I can't stand small talk; it makes me uncomfortable and drains my energy. I'm excited to continue connecting with individuals on a deeper level, but now with my own deck of Big Talk cards! I already have a few ideas of how/where I will use them and I can't wait to begin my experiment!
Package arrived much sooner than expected and in mint condition. I saw several reviews commenting that the size of the cards was problematic. To each their own but I personally love that they're small enough to hold in my hand because I can fit them in my purse and take them wherever I go (conveniently portable!) The size probably makes it less intimidating to strangers too, if you think about it.
Thank you, Kalina!
Have a rubber band ready.

The cards are very nice and small, but the box is made of the cheapest material imaginable and ripped the first time I tried to open the box. I'm spoiled by the comparably priced Table Topics packaging and expected a lot more for the money. That said, the topics are great and it's still about the conversation they create.
Game-changing game

This type of game and concept is right up my alley! Small talk is lame - these cards will definitely enable people to form deeper and more meaningful connections and relationships. Can't wait to play with my friends & family, and skip the small talk altogether. The game is compact and loaded w/ thought provoking questions. There's a fantastic Ted Talks on this concept too.
Great Journal Tool

I'll be honest, I watched Kalina's TED talk because she's easy on the eyes. However, after I saw the full video, I got very interested in more BIG TALK material and this game is amazing. I mainly use this for creating a Weekly Journal where I ask myself these questions and man is it thought provoking.
Thank you Kalina for all the hard work you've put in.

SMALL TALK GIVES WAY TO WONDERFUL CONVERSATIONS
I used my BIG TALK cards at Thanksgiving dinner as a game and we had more than food - we had nourishment for the soul as we explored issues and experiences from the prompts og the tiny BIG TALK cards.
I use these ideas in teaching at the museum but moved to the social sphere is genius!
Everyone needs this game.
Great to use these cards at our women's retreat

I watched Kalina Silverman's video on youtube and was fascinated by her approach to starting conversations with "big talk" instead of "small talk." I used that video as part of a presentation at a women's retreat and then had participants practice conversations with one another. It helped to have these 90 cards with challenging, thoughtful questions on them. Though young, Kalina is very wise! And we benefited from that.
Love these cards

Love these cards. Recently took on a camping trip with my wife and a couple that we are friends with. Not only did we have some great campfire chats, sparked by these cards, but I even learned a few things about my wife! These are smaller than i expected, but makes it easy to carry around everywhere!
