Video review: Accurate, very helpful with big rigs, but doesn't work on all bumpers if there are lit
by Beau Chevassus (4 out of 5 stars)

Very helpful for my truck, especially when parking in Seattle.

I was a disappointed when the "launching button" didn't work correctly, but they FenSens sent me a new one.

Works on my iPhone 6s.

Very accurate.

Big downside: If you have things in the way (see the video) on your bumper, it'll get in the way of the sensors. I had to mount the plate cover upsidedown, which means all the "right and left" sensors are mixed up.

Worked great, sorry I had to return. If no problem in your state for plate blockage, go for it!!!!

Fen Sensible

I have an older Fiat 500 Pop that lacks any kind of backup alert capability. I had looked at the Pearl backup camera but the price was just to high to for comfort. I was on Facebook one day recently and an ad for the FenSens Parking Sensor appeared. I read th description, I watched a couple of Youtube videos and I decided to go for it. Installed it two days ago and am still getting used to the slightly confusing interface but it does work as advertised.

PROS:

Easy to install and pair with my IPHONE SE.

Seems robust enough and looks attractive

It works as advertised

CONS:

Slightly concerned about the water resistance capability of the battery compartment. Does not seem to have any sort of O-ring type seal.
(but I did just take the car through a car wash and it worked fine after)

Instructions are a little confusing.

Sometimes I have to close the app and reopen for the sensors to start sensing. Wish you could just have it constantly available as long as the app is open.

Bottom Line - The price is maybe a bit higher than I would like but it works and I am satisfied.

UPDATE - So I have been using the FenSens for several months now and I finally had that moment when a fender bender was avoided at the mall parking lot. I have it installed on my Fiat 500, a very small car, and found myself parked between two large SUVs. As I backed out, unable to see anything for the longest time, my Sensor started beeping and I noticed a car fly by. If I had not hit my brake when the sensor started active pinging, I am sure I would have been missing a rear bumper. SO THANK YOU FenSens, you saved my Fiat's A$$.

Park smarter with FenSens
by Linda (4 out of 5 stars)

The FenSens is a smart wireless parking sensor that connect via Bluetooth using the FenSens app on IOS and Android devices.

The FenSens can be used with the front or back of the car, which is a nice feature. Or you can connect two FenSens and have visibility for the front and back of the car.

In the FenSens app, you have to create an account and go through the setup before you can start using the device. The app will ask if you have the FenSens positioned in the front or back of the car and the clearance, which is how far the FenSens is from the edge of your car (i.e. if you have the FenSens on the back of the car then the bumper may protrude from the FenSens you should measure from the edge of the FenSens to the edge of the car so the parking sensor can adjust accordingly.

The FenSens comes with a quick toggle button that can be attached to the car steering wheel. Within the app, the quick toggle button switches between the parking screen and the home screen (see video and photos for more details).

On your phone's home screen (for IOS), the button will activate the FenSens but will not open the app so if you are a visual person then you want to navigate to the app to see the sensor in action. Activation on the home screen will allow the FenSens to help you park if you have the sound and/or the vibration on. It is important to ensure that you have the sound and/or the vibration on before you use the FenSens because on the home screen, the toggle button can activate the app but no indicators will alert you if the sound or vibration is not on. For my iPhone, I have to turn on the ringer (using the mute switch) to enable the sound to play.

The quick toggle button is a great addition for the FenSens although there were a few times when the button did not register for me (see video for example). In the app, the sensor will constantly beep if you are in the parking screen. Beeping occurs every one second when the indicators are green in the app, and will elicit a long beep when indicators show red in the app meaning that you are too close to an object.

With a left and right sensor, the app is able to display if you are too close on the left but clear on the right side of the car and vice versa. This is great for angled parking or parallel parking because one side of the car may be too close to an object while the other side is clear so you can adjust as necessary.

The parking sensor is a good alternative for those in the market for backup cams or the like. While the sensor does not display live visuals of the outside of the car, the sensor indicators provide the same type of feedback that a backup cam would give you. This is a great option for those who have a hard time seeing the front of their car also. Also, when it is raining, the backup cam may be compromised while the sensors on the FenSens would still be able to work.

The user's guide states that the batteries should last about five months. The app displays the parking sensor battery life on the parking screen and the quick toggle button battery life in the settings menu under the manage devices screen. The guide also indicates that FenSens is not recommended for cars higher than four feet off the ground.

From my experience, I found the FenSens to be a good supplement to my car's existing backup cam. Having coverage for the front and back of the car allows for greater security when parking. It is hard to see the front of my car so the parking sensor is able to help me with parking behind another car when parallel parking.

Great Sensor Plate but would be perfect with a small tweak.
by mintImagery (4 out of 5 stars)

Great license plate sensor! Works like a charm. I received the first one where I had an issue removing the battery compartment screws because it was on too tight from the factory. However, upon contacting their customer support within 20 minutes, I was sent a shipping label to return mine and had received a new one from FenSens within 5 days. The new one works great but there are minor quibbles I would like to address and hope Fensens is listening. I'll list my pros and cons below:

Pros:

Sensor works as expected

Beeps are loud

Connects to car speakers

Big buttons for Music and Map apps a plus

Inconspicuous and minimalist

Cons:

Top center bar blocks State letters

App sometime doesn't make beeping noise or will have continuous beep and requires a tap out and tap back in to function.

No landscape function for the app, only portrait.

All in all I'm happy with the device, it would be great if the creator added a landscape function to the app as I use a Galaxy S8 with multiscreen functionality and having my Spotify app on one side while always keeping the FenSens app on the other side would be ideal.

A must have if you drive a truck!
by Hoppaguy (5 out of 5 stars)
February 14, 2018

I went from driving smaller sedans to driving a truck. The width of the truck is not a problem for me but it is the length. With the truck you have to pull all the way to front of the spot or as close to the wall as possible. On my Toyota truck, there was no option for front parking sensor so I decided to give this a try. WOW, this front license plate sensor is great! It was easy to install and the app works well. I use it everyday parking and it's so easy to use I just open the app (on my iPHone) and it shows me visually and beeping how close I am to the object in front of me. After many tests, I know that 2 bars on the sensor meter is the perfect distance for me. As for durability, the frame sensor has been on my truck for 3 months now and I park outside and it still has been working great. I would rate this product very high if you have trouble gauging how far up you should park!

WHAT A TERRIBLE PRODUCT AND COMPANY.
by Michael (1 out of 5 stars)
March 15, 2019

After last update product does not work 90% of the time. A blue bar just scans across the top of the application and it will not connect to plate. Also the tap button fails to connect at all!

They hide their telephone number so it is difficult to contact. Called and emailed many times and NO ONE RESPONDS!

IF YOU WANT TO BUY A VERY EXPENSIVE PRODUCT THAT DOES NOT WORK AND YOU CAN GET NO EMAIL OR TELEPHONE SUPPORT THEN BY ALL MEANS BUY THIS PRODUCT!

ALSO WHEN LOOKING AT REVIEWS OF THIS PRODUCT MAKE SURE TO SORT BY MOST RECENT.

Excellent high quality solution parking sensor for my new Lexus! It works!
by VDAWG&Vandelay (5 out of 5 stars)
April 29, 2019

I recently purchased a new Lexus UX 2019, which unfortunately came with NO front sensors to avoid getting to close my garage wall, or other cars when parking my car. I do however have a back up Cam, so this was specifically intended for the front of the car. After a week of research, the FenSens parking sensor became the very best option. I looked at a dozen install videos on Youtube, all with high recommendations, but noticed the Amazon rating was middle of the road. After diving in to read every single review, Some of the ratings are from those that are NOT reading the directions. OR - from those with a unique installation situation like a Pick Up, or tall vehicle with bolt obstruction. I did the entire initial set up at my desk before using the self tapping screws for both the fensens and the LEXUS logo front plate on my new car. Wow, it was easy, fast, and even tested the button it comes with to pull up the sensor quickly. Bottom line, this does everything it says it will do, and more. Although it warns against "side" sensing outside of a 4 feet range of the sensors, mine does pick up peripheral barriers wider than that. The Bluetooth connection is strong, staying connected to my phone with the car in my garage, while I'm inside. The app is awesome, and the "beeping" when too close is annoying - which is a good thing, LOL. I will always be self aware parking thanks to the FenSens. The only thing I'm working through, is the phone beeps coming through the car speakers when the radio is on. It's easy enough to just turn the radio off, but ideally I want to hear the beeps and radio at the same time. Another point when installing on the front of my Lexus which has a very unique grill. The longer self tapping screws worked perfect on the top holes, but the bottom with a thicker frame area (where the batteries are) requires even longer screws versus what was provide. The Lexus has a curved mesh grill, meaning it was deeper vs a typical install on most cars. The solution was self locking ties, which looked excellent and gave even better security for the device. If you have new car like me, that didn't come with parking assist, or any vehicle that's hard to judge when parking - FenSens is awesome.
