Convenient all in one solution for charging
by Nicholas Calderone (4 out of 5 stars)
June 15, 2018

When you carry a mobile phone, you are constantly worried about it running out of juice. I use my phone constantly throughout the day and almost always have it resting on a wireless charging dock. But, my fiance has an iPhone 7 and its battery drains a lot throughout the day so she has to plug it in at least once for a full charge during the day or she will have a dead battery by 5 pm. What do you do if you need to make sure you have a power source ready to charge your phone at a moment's notice? You get a tiny charging device like the Chargerito.

The Chargerito came in a small box with a transparent window so that you could see the product inside. There is some descriptive branding and product information on the outside of the package. When you get the Chargerito out of the box, you will find how easily it folds up. The charger is very lightweight and extremely easy to carry around. One of the things I noticed right away was how lightweight the plastic felt. The folding action of the Chargerito is simple and when it is ready for charging, you can unfold it and set your phone (or small tablet) on it.

I've had pocket chargers before and I really admire the design of the Chargerito. The folding aspect of it is something new to me but it works pretty well. I do think the plastic is a little flimsy. It's so lightweight that I could see it easily breaking with too much use. I charged an iPhone (with and without a case) using the Chargerito and found that the phone tends to lean on the Chargerito. It's designed to be sort of a charging stand but doesn't seem strong enough to hold the weight and stay plugged into a wall out. One of the times I charged a phone using the device, the phone was able to rest on it instead of relying on the 'stand' function of the Chargerito.

In addition to the strength of the Chargerito's structure, I had a couple of consistency problems when using it to charge an iPhone. During one charging session, the Chargerito got very warm (112 degrees - measured with an Infrared Thermometer) and other times it remained cool to the touch (only around 73 degrees - as shown with the image below). I would feel more secure with the Chargerito if I didn't have instanced of it overheating. The charger works. I was able to gain about 49% battery power within 52 minutes (0.94% per minute) which is pretty quick for a 5V/1A charger. And, with it being so small, it's a huge convenience to keep a charging option with you at all times. I would just use caution while charging devices to watch for heating issues.

Having a small, charging option on your person at all times is a great idea. The Chargerito can fill that need but I would be aware of how much it heats up while charging devices. The design of this tiny charger is unique and very convenient. The price is comparable to high-end charging cables but you don't have to worry about the tangled mess those cables can make when this minuscule object is tucked away in your pocket.

Great idea poor in function for heavier phones
by Amazon Customer (3 out of 5 stars)

LOVE this idea for my teenagers so they don't have to worry about carrying a charging block and a cable. Purchased it for my daughter for Christmas and loved the theory of it. It worked with my older iphone 6 but did not with her iphone 6 plus. It's too heavy to stay upright and there is nothing in front of the phone to keep it from falling forward and thus off the charger. We also tried with my husbands 7 plus and same thing it's too heavy to stay on it. So great for lighter smaller phones. Would love to see a model where the "kickstand" thing is in the front to hold the phone in place rather than behind the phone. Most outlets are on a wall so the wall behind it can hold the back it needs something in front to hold it in place. Sadly returning it but I so wish it worked it would have been perfect for my high school kids.

Works legitimately for iphone
by Kevin (5 out of 5 stars)

There's this seemingly weird arm that swivels up at an angle behind the phone. I thought this was pretty strange and it didn't seem to serve any purpose ( it actually gets in the way a little if you're plugging into a loose outlet that doesn't grip the charger firmly). So I contacted their customer service about this and they said this arm is actually required by Apple in order to get the Apple certification (something to do with supporting the back of the phone to keep it upright).

So even though this arm doesn't seem to serve any real purpose, it allows this product to be certified by Apple and go through their whole testing process, which I think is worth it. I've noticed whenever I use non-certified Apple products they break really easily and just don't work as well, so it's a small trade off in this case.

Not for heavy cases on your iPhone.
by polog90 (3 out of 5 stars)

After giving it a test run on how it holds up. I can say that it's very compact and charges very quickly. I give that to the people who created this. However I will say that this charger can't hold up to bulky iPhone cases it needs to be a light silicone case or no case on your iPhone. Without it it will hold up on the outlet firmly. That's the only reason I have and why it got 3 stars. Overall it was very convenient for my iPod nano, and iPod touch. I still like this one so far.

A nifty little charger gadget to the rescue
by Oded Gonen (5 out of 5 stars)

This little charger fills a unique unmet need: An iPhone charger (not a battery) that is always handy, never left frustratingly behind/at-home/in-the-car/at-the-office. After receiving this little gizmo, I would recommend using it on your keychain, (or stuffing it in your purse, backpack, briefcase, or whatever you always have with you). it's surprisingly small and unobtrusive. When you run into the inevitably scenario where you really need a charge outside your normal routine, is where the Chargerito will really shine. Since you always have it on you, you'll have a chargerito to the rescue. I used to carry a battery, but I would forget to charge it sometimes, it is heavy and too bulky. When I really needed it, it often didn't have enough juice left to charge my phone fully. The Chargerito is small, fits in my pocket, and is NEVER out of charge wherever there is a wall plug. Game set match.

Small but finicky

After the first time you figure out how to open it the process is simple. It's a little tricky to keep your phone from tipping out of the outlet if the balance is off at all. Nice and compact, easy to bring along.

Great product -- works with iPad, too
by Amazon Customer (5 out of 5 stars)

Works great for my iPhone 7! I love that it's so portable -- if I'm running low on battery and about to leave the house, it's super easy to just clip the Chargerito to my keys and go.

Also, they have a video of the Chargerito supporting an iPad, so I tried charging my iPad 2 with it, and it worked! However, you'll want to make sure that you use a wall outlet that the Chargerito fits into tightly. I noticed that some of my older outlets are lose, so the Chargerito sits at an angle and can't support much weight. It looks precarious because the whole iPad rests on the charger, but as long as the Chargerito fits in the outlet securely and you balance the iPad, it will hold in place and charge.

Great for traveling
by Austin (5 out of 5 stars)
July 28, 2018

Whenever I travel, I bring my iPad and iPhone. I used to have to bring two wall chargers with cords for both of these as well as a portable battery, since I'm out of my normal environment and afraid of running out of power. Since getting chargerito, I have ditched all of that charging clutter and now only pack my chargerito when traveling. It charges both the iPhone and iPad and if I randomly run out of battery, chargerito is in my pocket and I can snag a quick charge somewhere. Chargerito takes up about 5 times less space than my whole previous charging setup.

Charge Without Cords
by Cara (5 out of 5 stars)
February 23, 2018

The Chargerito is a tiny wall charger that replaces the regular apple charger (which I always have problems with the cord fraying and breaking). The Chargerito fixes that problem as it doesn't have any cords to tangle or break -- great for travel! The wall prongs and charger fold down into one neat and compact package. This charger is certified by Apple (it's not a knockoff) which makes me feel better about using it.

Another unintended use for Chargerito
by Isabel McDaniel (5 out of 5 stars)
August 14, 2018

I originally bought Chargerito as a travel charger, but I accidentally found another great use for it. I keep it plugged into my kitchen outlet permanently and charge my phone and tablet on it whenever needed. It keeps the countertop free from cords and clutter, which is especially helpful in my kitchen, which has limited space. Since discovering this other use, I've now bought a few Chargeritos and placed them in a few key places around my house.
