Product Description

Know the range, and shoot the exact pin with minimal movement using xero A1 Bow sight. It’s the first bow-mounted digital laser range finder and targeting display system that measures the angle-compensated distance to your target and provides an LED pin for the shot, even on those “in-between” yardages. LED pins automatically adjust brightness to conditions and allow you to see your target, unobstructed by physical pins. A single-button trigger lets you range at rest or full draw to game up to 100 yards away or to reflective targets up to 300 yards. Zero A1 is customizable for single-pin and multi-pin configurations or for Manual pin selection.

Features

  • Auto-ranging digital bow sight automatically measures distance to the target and provides an LED pin for the shot
  • LED pins allow you to clearly see your target, unobstructed by physical pins
  • Silent single-button trigger requires minimal movement; lets you range at rest or full draw up to 100 yards on game or up to 300 yards on reflective targets
  • Customizable for single-pin and multi-pin configurations or manual pin selection
  • 1 year of battery life with 2 Lithium AAA batteries (not included)

It was a little difficult to set up mainly because the instructions aren't great, but you can figure

This sight is an absolute game changer. It was a little difficult to set up mainly because the instructions aren't great, but you can figure it out pretty quickly. I don't blame Garmin for the instructions; I just think it's probably hard to write detailed written instructions for something so technologically advanced. With that said, once you get through the initial setup (setting the primary pin, aligning the rangefinder retical, etc.), it's just a matter of calibrating pins for different ranges. Then you're off and running. I actually look forward to shooting every evening because it's so easy. You just walk to a point, range, and shoot. It's that simple. One thing I love that maybe doesn't get mentioned enough is the fact that there are no physical pins. It's so nice to have a clear view of the target without the physical pins getting in the way. I was on the fence about purchasing this sight and was very skeptical at first, but so far it has vastly exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend for serious bowhunters.

great new toy

great gadget when its working right, hope they get the bugs out before hunting season. ive had the chance to shoot it now about 4 different sessions. first time to confusing had to re-read directions second time got a little further along in the process to where i could see its a awesome addition/toy for my bow. third time i started to get the freeze bug and had to restart/hard reset it 3 times. came back in and tried to update software. got stuck at close battery door to update but nothing happened/wouldnt update contacted/sent support a email-a week later no response. fiddled around with it and figured out if i press hard where the cable connects to door the update will go thru. updated and went for my forth time and didnt even use my old range finder and was hitting the bullseye at ranges up to 50yrs
it would've been nice of garmin to include the tools i needed to adjust-take door off sight $800 you could've include it

biggest problem was trying to figure it out take your time plan on resetting it at least once

keep it updated-check frequently for updates

Simply the best!

I had this sight for a month. It locked-up/froze-up on me once, but installed the software upgrade and it was fine ever since. Battery life is outstanding - I had to recalibrate it couple times due to the setup changes I made to my bow and battery bar don't even have a dent... (have to use lithium bateries!). Best part about this sight to me is the opportunity to double check your form (alignment). While ranging the red dot has to be in the center of the green circle... if you don't form right - the dot will be out of the circle... this is extremely beneficial in hunting situations: sitting, kneeling, standing on uneven ground... this sight + range finder worth every penny of it... [you would easily spend more money for Good range finder + Nice bow sight]. It's legal in most states... and I bet it will be legal in all states in a year or so... simply more humane shots - no guessing the range when game change position, which could end in wounding/loosing it.

Pricey but you get what you pay for.

I like the sight really well but the set up was a bit more then I could handle. Had to have pro shop help me do that. After proper set up I do like it very much. I did have to send first two units back as they had some malfunctions. Garmin treated me well and I can't say anything bad about their customer support. In fact they were great. I ended up killing a whitetail buck this year with it and it worked as advertised. Can't wait for next year. This unit is great for older hunters with aging eyes and really helped me since I'm colored blind. The illuminated dots are much more easier to see then any fiber pin I've used in the past.

Don't read the manual. It will only screw you up.

This is one of the best items I have ever used. With that being said, it was one of the most complex systems I have ever set up. I shot 270 arrows, setting it up and in the end I was very unhappy, I reset it back to factory setting and started all over again. Much easier to do the second time and I got it right to my setting which was very important to good shooting. The first and most important thing is to download the software update before you start. After that be patient, with every step, don't rush it and in the end it will bay off. Don't fret over the first pin at 20 yards.

Did not keep zero
by Dane Kroll (1 out of 5 stars)

I had this sight for about a year. I got the sight because I have trouble judging distances and I thought this would be a great way to overcome that. At first the sight was amazing, but then I had to re-calibrate it every time I turned it off then on again. I took it with me hunting and twice it would not turn on, so that is two wasted hunts. I started shooting it again this year but it could not keep my zero and I had to re-calibrate it again. I don't have any confidence in this sight so I sent it back. For $800 it should work every-time, but it doesn't. It needs a lot more work before its reliable enough for the real world.

I love this sight. So far, it is everything Garmin said it was. It took me a while to set it up, but it is worth it. I believe this sight is a game changer!

Wanted this SO badly

I really needed this in my life, but unfortunately it's not legal in Colorado. I live and hunt in Texas, but also Colorado. I didn't want to get used to it only to not rely on it later. When this is legal, I will definitely buy it! Just be warned where it is and isn't legal folks. In Colorado and several other states, it's written as 'no electronic devices' on your bow. I really had to dig to find that info and unfortunately found it after my purchase.

Good intentions

Good intentions for the sight but too many glitches. Freezes a ton in practice mode. Accuracy is good. Way overpriced. I would probably hold off a year on this product

Game changer for the old hunter
by Shelby C. (5 out of 5 stars)

Bought this to make hunting easier by not having to range and set range on a small tape while hunting. It took 2 days to set up and learn the setup routine but now it's a piece of cake. Took hunting and shot 214 lb boar at 30 yrds. He only went 20 yrds. This sight teaches me not to torque the bow and maintains stats on arrows shot. Everyone asks me about it when I shoot at ranges. I love the ease of this sight.
