I LOVE this thing!! People love to check it out, my kids love to look at it, my cats and ferrets also unfortunately love to trample Hogwarts....so there's a few pieces that get launched and I have to reassemble 🙄 but that's a critter related problem not a product one!! Best Lego set I have so far, and I also collect the smaller HP sets. This one is super pricey but so worth the time spent building and the display piece that I now have

OCD nightmare, but so much fun regardless.

Lots of fun to build. I love Lego sets and I love working with my hands. This fills all my cravings. The only thing that I don't like is the Lego logo. I have a slight case of OCD, and it's been going haywire trying to put this set together. I've been putting the set together with the Lego logos going in two distinct directions, but some pieces I don't have a choice and the logo goes every which direction. However, this is my own little problem that will likely make no sense to anyone else. Still, its driving me crazy.

Regardless, this set is so intricately detailed and the time and effort the design and engineering teams put into this is obvious. Well done, Lego!

Give yourselgf some time to finish this one

First if you are looking for an EXACT replica of Hogwarts this is a LEGO kit. It won't be exactly the same.

But they do a great job getting there. I bought this because I am putting together a scenario with a Hogwarts Express and wanted this to use in the background>

One one side you get the external side of Hogwarts (including a stained glass look in many of the windows, a neat surprise). It has many of the areas from the movies. The Great Hall, The Chamber of Secrets (with Basilisk), Moving staircases, Dumbledore's Office, Potions classroom, Defense against the Dark Arts Classroom ... even Umbridge's Pink Office. Add on items include Hagrid's Hut, The Whomping Willow (with car) and boats to travel to Hogwarts.

Figures it has some unique ones. In the mini-figures (what I consider normal LEGO size) there are the four founders of Hogwarts. But then there are over 30 "micro-figures" (maybe 1/2" in size) of Harry, Hermione, Ron, Snape, Dumbledore, Malfoy, Umbridge, and a variety of other Harry Potter characters. Good for setting the scene but probably not a good thing to play with if you are a kid.

I give it 5 stars because the only way you could improve it would be to add lights - which LEGO doesn't do (but other companies provide kits. Currently trying to add one of them now)

As an adult I picked this up as a Harry Potter fan. I found out through Facebook two other adults are doing the same model. The price is not for the faint of heart but it is a really complex. What you would expect for about 6000 pieces.

Definitely glad I did this. Already bought my next one to work on once I put the lights on this.

Most Fun LEGO Build I've Ever Done!
by Sven Westley (5 out of 5 stars)

I definitely enjoyed building this version of Hogwarts! I've built two of the regular scale versions, and they were fun, but the level of architectural detail and the creativity that the designers used in representing key Hogwarts locations in microscale made this build far more satisfying. The build is definitely complex enough that I would recommend it primarily for adults and older kids, but not for young children (too many tiny pieces). However, if you like the more complex builds, consider this one! The build took 18.5 hours at a leisurely pace (which, for me, was a good thing... more building fun!) and the set includes over 6,000 pieces and a good number of micro figures of important Harry Potter characters.

Excellent product and a hell of a lot of fun but BEWARE!!! When you purchase

Why BEWARE? Because The identical product is sold for both $400 and $600 on Amazon. The product in the lego store is $400, so don't make the mistake of buying the more expensive one.

I got this to do a couples-project with my wife; an excercise in mutual self-control and teamwork, to see if we could get though it without divorcing; so far so good.

I've never done Legos before and was very very impressed. The directions are superb; clear, precise, and correct. The parts are kept in individual smaller-project/building component bags rather than being delivered, as in some 3D puzzles, in a huge jumbled, worthless, pile. Of 6020 pieces, only one was missing, and this was immediately replaced free by calling Lego. (Customer service also was excellent.) The castle itself is lovely, wonderfully conceived, and is a work of art. There are many smaller feature (moving staircases, Dumbuldore's office, the Basilisk vault, etc.) which refer to the books and movies and demonstrate an excellent knowledge of these sources. Overall, a hell of a lot of fun with an excellent product from a good company.

Initial reaction was WOW!

Got this for my son in law who is very creative and very much in to Lego architecture and Harry Potter as well as my daughter who also loves Harry Potter. Their initial reaction on Christmas morn was wow and amazing. We will go with that until that actually start building this. I love(d) all the details that are part of the Hogwarts Castle so we shall see how things go. I will update once assembly commences. Glad I got it for them!

Awesome Set
by Eric (5 out of 5 stars)
March 13, 2019

This is the greatest Lego set I've ever built. It was a lot of fun while also being extremely detailed. As you build it and see the Harry Potter world come to life, it's an amazing experience. I took me about 12 hours to complete the entire structure. Even if you aren't a big Harry Potter fan, this set is extremely fun to build. I would NOT recommend it to those that want to play with the set. This set is built for display purposes.

We purchased this set for our 10 year old daughter and she absolutely loved it. The step-by-step instructions were very easy to follow and the finished product is impressive. Took about two weeks To complete. A bit pricy, but well worth it.

Amazing detail, worth the price, not an easy build for little kids
by Lauren (5 out of 5 stars)
May 5, 2019

Purchased as a birthday gift for myself. Huge Harry Potter and Lego fan. Price was expensive but as according to Lego pricing, was not too bad. I love the way it turned out, all the detail from the different years and the detail in the design. I marked as easy to assemble since it neatly separates the Legos into a series of packs that go along with the building manual., however it did take me a while (about 22 hours in total) to assemble. So if you are thinking of getting this for a younger child, unless they are very patient and love Legos, it might not be the best pick. However, I still love it and have it on display in my house. Plus the mini mini-figures are cute.

Missing pieces but cool otherwise.
by bobo the cow (3 out of 5 stars)

This IS a cool build. However, almost every bag has been missing some key pieces (we are super cautious when opening each bag). Good thing I have several tubs of random old legos so except for the curved entry block, have been able to find an off color fix. The build is extremely repetitive but there some cool features. Lost two stars for quality control because that's a lot to drop on a set to not get all the pieces.
