I sold my Mavic Pro(M1) to buy this new Mavic 2 zoom(M2), never regret! The flying speed of M1 in position mode is around 9m/s, the same of M2 in position mode is 14m/s! more than 50% faster !! I can fly out my M1 never more than 2800m. In the same local and flight configurations, I can fly out my M2 to 7100m away, still with 3 bar RC signal, I think no problem to fly out more than 8000m. After returning, M2 still have 24% battery remaining. So the most impressive features for M2 is 50% faster and 100-200% increasing in range! Also more stable in wind and a bit quieter. While 2x zoom is not bad, but not impressive, expecting 5x zoom for Mavic 3. However, the recent geo 2.0 flight Database udpate (last weekend) makes the drone not usable in many situation. I had flying field which is 6 or 7 miles away from airport, I can not take off drone now, due to 'In NFZ' message. The NFZ is increasing tens of times larger than old one. I checked the new NFZ definition, the drone is allowed to fly < 400 feet at the boundry of NFZ under new more restricted rules. But DJI does not allow it to take off at all, not even for 10 feet high flying !!! DJI is trying to land your thousands$ drone more than necessary!! Pls check the return policy before you bought any DJI product after Nov 2018, you'd better check the DJI drone is able to flying at the location you want to fly first before your returning policy expires. Otherwise, you might spend $$$$ to buy a brick, which is due to wrong implementation in geo2.0!! I am very disappointed at DJI who is hurting their customers irresponsibly.
Truly a Great Product!

I purchased several weeks ago and have not been disapponted. I also have the Mavic Air and can attest that this by far is superior in every way. The MAVIC Air is nice but is more designed for quick fun. The big win for me with the Pro is the extended flying time/battery life, remote control, connectivity, and the zoom lens. I took this platform to the beach on a trail run and averaged approximately 28 mins of flying time in high winds. It's truly stable and offers some great features. I'm still testing but thus far, I am very pleased. One major area needing improvement is the color as you can lose track your sight-line unless you have some type of marker on it (i.e. reflective streamers) as the beacon markers are very hard to see at a distance. This product is as advertised. Hope this helps!
Fell out of the sky.

Was happily flying this drone. And out of nowhere. The app got disconnected and thinking maybe the drone will return to home. It didn't
The drone disconnected and out literally dropped from the sky. It was broken and shattered to pieces.
It was very scary as I was taking photos of a busy intersection. I do not know what happened. But I can definitively say a glitch occurred. Because the controller got disconnected and the drone was supposed to go back to home. Instead it just flat out stopped and dropped dead from 100m up in the air
Update:
Apparently there is a flaw with the battery in the mavics. If you put your battery in even if the drone turns on the battery might get dislodged despite hearing a click. I assume that's what happened to my drone.
If you get the new mavics make sure to secure the batteries. I don't know why it would even get dislodged like that but it will. Theres a video on YouTube showing exactly that
Awesome!

Concluding,
If you are a professional photographer or videographer and you edit your footage in postproduction, the MAVIC 2 PRO is going to be your option.
If you are a person that doesn't care that much of postproduction and just wants to have fun with your drone, you should get the MAVIC 2 ZOOM because of its new zoom feature and because it's also cheaper at price point.
If you are upgrading from a Phantom, Parrot... and just want to get something really different in terms of portability and features you should get the MAVIC 2 (Zoom or Pro version).
If you are upgrading from a MAVIC Pro (1), I don't think that you are going to find a lot of new things on the Mavic 2 Zoom because it has the same sensor. You should get the Mavic 2 Pro to really notice the camera quality.
This is all, I hope that now you really know which one to choose.
